I only wished I could get some flowers off of my tree. It’s up so high you can’t reach it. I would love to make the tea that would be nice. This looks beneficial I heard you could eat the stems they say the stems got a lot of nutrition in it too.

I'm new to mimosa (happy Tree)tea. I've seen a few CZcams videos and read some articles on the web, probably 100 of each. Today 6/5/2024 I decided to make for the first time some mimosa flower tea. I pulled about a cup full from my tree, took them inside and was getting ready to boil water to pour over the flowers when I noticed the cup was loaded with small white worms. WTF. NO mention on any site about this!!! I threw the flowers out and decided to stick to my Zoloft. But, in the worms defense, they did seem very happy 😂

I plan to harvest quite a bit of mimosa flowers. What's the best way to preserve them in bulk? I can't buy a case of alcohol. If I dry them, can they still be used for tincture or are those always fresh?
Do you ever mix the flowers with bark? Do you use root bark, too?

    • @0glowcat0

@CleezyClark When you go to strain it, use an extra layer of cheesecloth to catch all the finest particulates. Ive also started flipping my jars with the lids meshed for a few hours before i put the alcohol in just to give the inch worms and other critters a chance to run (some dont get the hint, though).

@@CleezyClark When I harvest, I usually spread the plant parts/flowers of whatever I'm collecting on a table outside and let it sit for a couple of hours. The bugs will escape and crawl out. Haven't had much of an issue with anything so far from that method.
