People like who they like and subscribe to different things Personally I don’t watch emma but my impression is that she has a fairly young audience and also collabs with big youtubers a lot Younger viewers watch a lot more and subscribe more easily Ashleys viewers are probably a bit older (maybe around uni age?) and more comfortable talking about real issues as well as having a more refined taste in clothing less interest in fast fashion and more likely to want to diy or find things that are affordable because they’ve learnt to budget or have a low wage job and their parents don’t help them out anymore etc I really like Ashley’s video I think she’s talented likeable and dedicated but that doesn’t necessarily get you the most subscribers A lot of people are anti thrift ( for some pretty silly reasons tbh) and won’t want to watch someone thrift or sew because they like just buying clothes A lot of men will be off put by her talking about periods and sexism some because they’re awful people and actual friggin babies but mostly because it’s simply not relatable content to them I think Ashley deserves the gosh darn world and she’s awesome but it’ll take a while for her to find and be found by people that want to watch her or who she wants to collab with and her subscriber count might go slower than a lot of people but it’s also bigger than a lot of channels and I think she’ll steadily gain a significant amount of viewers for a long time since she’s so refreshing and not a super trendy ‘of the moment’ ‘~star~”

i just wanna say THANK YOU ASHLEY! i was so uncomfortable and felt so self conscious with my old wardrobe, which was basically stretch skinny jeans and basic graphic tees. i felt so ugly. but after watching your videos and learning that there are more than just one trendy basic style. i’ve learned about silhouettes and textures and how different fabrics lay. i’ve gained so much confidence. so, thank you ashley. thank you so much
