  • This video is a full training course designed to explain the basics of can bus, its need in modern vehicles, how it operates, the topology and testing methods.
    In short, the Controller Area Network (CAN) is a standard used to allow Electronic Control Units (ECUs) to communicate in an efficient manner without a central computer.
    Messages are broadcast in a system that requires very little physical wiring making CAN bus low cost, robust and efficient.
    Applications of the CAN protocol include in particular automotive (cars, trucks, buses, commercial vehicles etc.), but also e.g. boats, drones and industrial automation.

    This is one of the most satisfying video on any topic I have ever seen. I would take this is masterpiece as a reference for explaining or sharing information by myself to anyone.
    Secondly, the topic has been explained like a butter, smooth and apt. Got to know far more insights than what I know before seeing this.
    Thanks to the creator 🎉

    This is an awesome video on CAN bus technology. I really appreciated the various animated diagrams used throughout the video. I do want to point out a tiny, tinsy, weensy error. At 7:06 of the video there is a diagram explaining the varying voltage on a light bulb and a volt meter. The way this is wired up, the voltage will be a constant 12Volts and would not move at all. The Positive Probe should have been placed on the negative side of the light bulb, not the direct battery side.

    I hope someone won an award for this video. I've spent about 8-hrs on CZcams so far, trying to find a video to help me learn/understand CANs. This video does a far better job than any video I have found yet. The whole "Master/Slave" thing is a little cringe-worthy in these "enlightened-times", even for 30-year old technology, but what are ya going to do?

    Nice Video, here are some observations that I had that might improve your quality.
    At 6:42 there is a problem in the way the meter is connected to the circuit. As illustrated it measures the battery voltage, which is constant -- not the variable voltage. That lead needs to be moved to the other side of the control for this to be correct. Also I thought most vehicles now are negative common -- no positive common as it was in the past.
    At 16:45 the speed given for ADSL is very out of date (unless you live far away from the switch) as well. Most ADSL is > 100Mb'sec these days.
    There is some skipping around the 24 minute mark.

  • @triodit

    Dear god why haven't you fixed the begining audio?!

  • @Ghryst
    @Ghryst Před 2 lety +1

    ok, so 'CAN-bus' is 'a language protocol used on a serial data connection'.
    now you can skip ahead to 15:40 and and spend those oh-so drawn out 15 mins on something more productive.
