In this video, I travel to the west coast of Vancouver Island for a fun-filled landscape photography trip with friends, Wayne, Amanda and Gavin. We photograph big trees, hidden canyons and spectacular scenery overlooking Pacific Rim National Park.

Thanks for the info on the flute. I was going to ask, and I had the right idea. A native guide once surprisingly played for us in Monument Valley. We were looking at some sort of towering formation, and he began to play in the background. It was awesome.

I agree, sort of. I thought the flute playing matched the peaceful pictures and a calm mood until my cocker spaniel objected and started to howl. I muted, and so did Tilly, unmuted and the howling started after a bit of a delay: she sort of poses with her head up. Happened again halfway through the second flute session.

I kind of like the normal view of the tree. The 16:9 is not bad but I still prefer the other. I also think the shot with your friend in it was the best as far as showing how magnificent that tree is.

Adam, is the raft necessary to get as far into the canyon to where you were photographing, or can it be waded when water levels are what they are now?

I think you need more air on the bow. The raft looks mightily low in the water up front. 🤓

You have not considered using packraft instead of that rubber dinghy? Saves a lot of weight and space.
