- Penn State wrestling had plenty to take away from the World Team Trials U20 tournament. From Tyler Kasak not participating to five individual champions associated with the Nittany Lions, there is plenty to discuss. Locked On Nittany Lions host Zach Seyko and Nittany Sports Now beat reporter Joe Smeltzer analyze why Kasak could most likely be making a move to 157 pounds and what that means for Levi Haines. Plus, Zach and Joe react to Luke Lilledahl, Zack Ryder, Connor Mirasola, PJ Duke, and Josh Barr winning the opportunity to represent the United States for the 2024 World Championships.

All The Talents Penn State Already Have And The Future Holds Nothing But Championships and Outstanding People And Wrestling Makes Me And A Whole Bunch Of People Sit Back Smiling And Cheering WE ARE PENN STATE Blessings To Our Lord And Savior Jesus Christ 🙏✌️
It will be exciting to watch.
And then comes P.J.Duke.
I sucks when you just want summer to be over to get back at in November!!! Folk anyway. WE ARE!!!
Are you a crazy person? It’s about to be the Olympics. We just had the trials. What more do you want?
@@daytonasayswhat9333 you to understand what I meant. I was at trials and am looking for to the Olympics but they’re not folk
@@farbeyonddriven8173 Lame.
I'm definitely counting down the days to the schedule release. Eager to see if Oklahoma State is on there or the hypothetical Beaver Stadium dual.
I see Levi Haines and Messinbrink starting. PJ Duke is coming! Kasak wrestle off vs Van Ness. Facundo or Ryder at 174. Starrocci at 184. Barr out!? Craziness
starocci 197
Star is 100% 197 next year. His words
@@Ryan_YoungUSA yeah.. ik.. you think he'll be 197?
The NCAA needs to expand the starting lineup to 15 weight classes just to accommodate Penn State's crowded mat room! 😂
I'll add this about Starocci. He will not be wrestling at 174. Let's just say that.
It’s insane this team has the potential to go 10/10… WILD😭🙏
Why isn't anyone talking about kasak staying at 149? It's no guarantee that can ness can beat him in a wrestle off is there??
Penn State can do a lot with its lineup. Nothing is set in stone besides Bartlett at 141 and Kerkvliet at HWT. It is certainly possible that Kasak stays there and beats Van Ness. Bottom line: They have options.
The best lineup to go 10/10 in the championship is, Luke, Davis, Bartlett, Van Ness, Messinbrink, Haines, Facundo, Barr, Carter and then Greg. Have Kasak and Zach wrestle off against whatever weight they want to start at. Probably going to lose 2 guys to osu but remember duke is coming and potentially Bo bassett so PSU is looking good for the long run! WE ARE🙏
I think O'Toole might mess up that list.
24:00 Zhaid threw Aaron Brooks off the mat at the Olympic Trials. I know PSU is dominant but i aint letting that one slide.
Expand to 12 weight classes
Kasak was smart to stay out of Duke's bracket.
I don't know if missing weight was intentional!
@@LockedOnNittanyLions Me either.
@@LockedOnNittanyLions ...a "motivated" wrestler does NOT miss weight...something dampened his motivation to compete
I love penn st wrestling but I truly believe that Penn St gonna lose some wrestler in the portal to many stud in the house some elite wrestler getting left out the line up hope penn st can keep them
It is difficult because there are only 10 spots in college. But the best of the best still like to train and compete with Cael Sanderson in that program. There will be some attrition, but nothing outrageous.
Zach….i hear that Nagao suffered an injury at U23’s….heard he may be on the shelf all year….What do u know?
Haines or Kasak. Whoever you RS gonna flip to Okie State in that year off.
Both M2 guys, it's possible
Doubt that
They wouldn't be able to hit the portal until 11 months from now. A lot can change. Beau Bartlett, Carter Starocci, and Greg Kerkvliet all move on, opening up some spots.
Let them wrestle off for each weight as they should. Can't give starting positions based on past performances.
Any given day!
Keep talking about Facundo beating Levi, but it’s freestyle. Freestyle and Folkstyle are different
Very true.
Levi is ressirtingnandnwill cherry to Oklahoma and wrestled 165 against Messinbrink
That would be something. Hopefully that does not happen.
Could be Haines at 174 instead of Facundo. Folkstyle is different than freestyle. Wouldn't surprise me.
Haines can't beat Facundo and anyways Haines will redshirt for sure.
It is a toss-up in my mind. I am not sure who wins that one right now. Give Levi a chance to train at 174 full time, then it is a different story.
Are you guys afraid to say these guys are gonna be cowboys?
Have not heard anything about select Penn State wrestlers wanting to transfer to Oklahoma State.
