- So last year I challenged Kevin Talbot to an RC Car Race, and we finally managed to arrange it.
We also invited @PopalongRC @RCKickschannel @noahsrcs1808 @that70sbigkid along to race with us, and man it was loads of fun!

Cheers mate and I'm still team Tomley and I do hope you guys keep having this kind events maybe not everytime a race as such, but maybe who can make the faster car with a budget of $200 or o dont know something like that, but anyway Its great that you had a great time mate and as persons both you and Kevin showed a lot by just putting a side all tue other stuff and maybe not become best friends but showing that you guys can be un the same room get along and have a good time so cheers!!!

Although it's Kev's home field. We change the track each meeting, so it's not too much of an advantage.
@@NeilMerry001 yes, exactly. Although it's nice when you know the setup and best tires for the track, it's not that big of an advantage like some people think. Good driver will always be fast. Talbot is on completely another level, even if he had 17.5 car and tomley mod car and new track, tomley would have no chance

This looks like a blast. I would love to see more challenges between you and Talbot. Maybe some kind of "RC decathlon" where you compete in a variety of events. Racing, drifting, crawling, etc.

That was a very clean race for the most part. Not gonna lie to you, I expected a lot more intentional carnage 😂 But good to see some nice clean racing. Us American boys need to take notes, most people here will intentionally wreck you for the win.

This is a great video. It shows how to prep for a race and it appears everyone had fun. You're driving improved and got more consistent. It was a very nice event and I am sure it brought more viewers to everyone's channel.

I'm glad you had a good time. It looked like a lot of fun. Everything I've heard from people who race is that consistency is everything. It's nice to have the latest buggy, but that RTR is afaik based off the B4, and that in it's day was a very good buggy indeed. Evenb with a B4 (a couple of generations old now) if you can drive consistently enough, you'll still do well.

Also learned the hard way (R.I.P. ESC) that you can't trust battery manufacturers with polarity - had one where red was minus and black was plus. After that I ALWAYS recheck batteries with my charger when changing plugs as it tells me if there are polarity errors...
Even 2 Reedy ones that were pretty much the same had them a different way around 😅
What a laugh! RC Racing is such a great thing to do. I reckon the bug has bitten and you'll start to take it really seriously!

Practice is a big part of it, and an unfamiliar track throws anybody. No biggy, when it's fun to win or lose you can only get better. You're setup is sweet, your control is improving and I've Phil confidence in you!!

I said the same on the Popalong video, this race event is what a lot of us have wanted to see for sometime, and it's great for all us views and also for the RC community in general so thank you for that....on a side note... Peterborough services, 35mins to go, Papworth with 13mins to go, You must have been going some to achieve that 🤔

Whoever won doesn't matter.. it wasn't a mistake imo because now im sure the beef is squashed and you guys are friends .. if you didn't do so good that's okay you went to his home track where he runs at all the time.. RC racing is set up for a specific track but after that it comes down to muscle memory.. in order to develop that memory you have to run at a specific track for many many hours..Good fun!

I do like sanwa radios. I have a 24 year old stick set that still works flawlessly. So it's got a big telescopic antenna and uses crystals and weighs about 2 stone with the batteries in but I love it.
Look like you guys had a blast. Felt really bad for Noah rc some one should have loaned them there back up car just so he could have been competitive.
Noah had some bad luck. But he was given an LC Racing for his final at the end, and won 👌

As a near 50 year old who wants to join an 8th scale club here in Sydney to do some e buggy racing for the first time in my life it's great to see other guys getting out having a go because I must say it is a bit intimidating... although like all the lads there the guys at the track I'm thinking of joining are extremely welcoming and friendly as well.. Looking forward to more races in the future.. 😁👍

@@michaelinzitari Hi Michael, I'm going to join the Illawarra off road rc club.. Awesome track down at Albion Park only an hour from the Sutherland Shire where I am.. I was talking to Matt at RC Hobbies and the track at Lansdowne there near bass Hill/George's hall is getting built now.. They'll have 8th scale I've been told.. Have you seen the three track at Albion Park? Awesome and very friendly people there..

As for the new track at Flinders Slopes car park, do not hold your breath. You might be waiting a while for any progress there. There is no club/committee. Just unorganised bashers

@@malsmith2012 lots of RC tracks. 1/8 onroad, nitro and electric, 1/10 onroad, nitro and electric, 1/10 off-road, electric. But no 1/10 off-road nitro, no 1/8 off-road anything. Have to travel to Albion or Maitland for those classes after Liverpool track was closed due to Asbestos contamination. That is the real tragedy. Enjoy your racing Mal! May the EBuggy bring you many years of joy
