- Join me in my journey to put this 60 year old ONE OWNER classic British sports car back on the road! We get it running, washed and driving and as always run into some good old fashioned BUILT bad luck along the way.

Chair!
Glad to see you back!!! I literally just checked your channel a few days ago and figured you had just given up on CZcams. You were missed.
Same!
You said "Get Smart" 🧑🔧 🪑
Thats a real nice thrown ur sittin in.... I mean CHAIR... LOL.
We had a blast bringing the Sunbeam back to life!! Thanks for having me come out!
You did an amazing job on that! If I was local to you, I'd have you bring my supra project back to life lol
You guys will see more of aim on the channel
that chair definitely matches the sunbeam alpine's quirky-ness, loving that you're back. always enjoyed your builds as you feel like a real person doing them!
Thanks so much! Really glad to be back definitely a real person making real mistakes
Nice shirt! Nice chair! Nice Sunbeam! You love your small wheelbase British cars
I will always be a car-nivore 🤙
Watching from Spain. Good to see you back in the chair! I like what you did with the Alpine, back on the road and not over restored. This is the sort of video to help budding mechanics.
We're all glad your back! Can't wait to see what other projects you have for us to watch you build! Take chair!
got another one coming next week!
@@BUILTOFFICIAL Can't wait!
Brush! You've been giving us withdrawals for some Built content 😂😂😂
Good to see you’re back. Excited for the new and old projects. That’s a vintage looking chair you got there.
only the most vintage of chairs for BUILT
Glad you are back and doing well. I really enjoy watching your progression in the automotive industry! Also, that's a nice CHAIR!

That was fun. As is the chair. Sat through and clicked on every ad. Looking forward to supporting you more and more. Sorry ‘bout the glasses. LASIK is awesome.
Love that your are back. Sweet Chair too. Looking forward to seeing all you are up to! I never really got into CZcams but loved what you do and glad you are back. Also stand up guy and love that your kids are a part of what you do. Great guy!
For any car that's sat a very long time, if you care about it, do this..
-ALWAYS pull the plugs first (use borescope if you have one) and heavily lubricate the cylinders down with penetrating oil or ATF and leave to soak.
-Pull the fuel line off pre-fuelpump/ remove fuel pump fuse/ pull coil lead/ remove ignition fuse..
-Pull the rocker cover, lube the rocker gear and turn over the engine by hand, watching the valve actuation.
-If that's fine and you can turn it over 720° by hand easily or once it is possible to do so easily. (sometimes may take a bit to get it unstuck or has a sticky point where it has sat, this will likely not be a very good engine but possibly still rebuildable)
-Then use the starter motor with the plugs still out, checking oil pressure light goes out, or monitoring oil pressure gauge, or removing oil sender to see if any oil comes out.
-Once turning over on the starter and it has spat all the penetrating oil/ATF completely out the cylinders, then compression test it.
-From there you will know if it has valvetrain or cylinder issues (zero comp : likely stuck valves. low comp likely stuck or damaged ring/rings or pistons, in which case leak down test it)
-At this point you have wasted no money on parts, depending on compression you'll determine whether it needs further work or if it's worth you investing money and time into introducing fuel and spark, changing oil etc and all without possibly damaging the engine further..
Glad to see you back. I often sit in my fav chair to watch your old videos for motivation on my project. Hope you keep growing as a channel.
thats awesome! chair crew best crew
I'm glad you're back! love watching you.... love the "chair"!
Thanks so much man! glad to be here
Great quick video. Glad the Alpine got running without problem. It's always fun nudging old convertibles back onto the road.
For the paint, Meguiars Mirror Glaze 7 is great for getting some life back into single stage paint. Letting it soak for a day or two will really make the paint pop for a while.
Glad to see you back!!! Great transformation👍👍 That CHAIR looks very comfortable🪑
glad to be back!!! its pretty cozy!
Glorious chair. Good to have you back posting.
so glad to be back! Thanks for watching!
Love the old school chair you were sitting. Kinda fits the old school car vibe. Love the channel keep up the awesome content. My son Caleb got a kick out of you having the same name even though they are spelled differently.
Thats rad! its a good name he's set up for success 😂
Pretty cool chair, Caleb. Glad to see you back!
Thanks man so glad to be back!
Amazing to see you back again and as passionate as ever! Great chair by the way :)
Nice old survivor. Glad your back, actually the other day at work I was wondering what you were up to lately. Nice CHAIR you got there, matches the older vibe of the old car!
Thanks so much man! Its really humbling to see comments from people I've never met in person saying they were wondering where I was. So happy to be back
@BUILTOFFICIAL You've BUILT a great community!
Great to see you back. The sunbeam is a tough one for spares. My dad has a 1967 series 5 he's owned it since 1968.

Man. Love watching your vids in my best chair. Regular uploads again please.
They will be regular again! I missed this so much. The next several videos will give you guys an idea of what took me so long to upload again
I'm happy that you're back to posting, hope you can keep it up. Your channel was one of the ones that inspired me to actually start doing stuff with cars. I always love them as a kid but seeing you do stuff on your own without having prior experience gave me the motivation to try. I almost forgot about the chair :)
Idk how you find the odd ball cars like this but I really enjoy seeing you bring them to life ... the car looked depressed in the beginning but with some love it seem to Chair up some 😉 ..BTW the air needs to be fixed onto the valve after you spray starter fluid...then u light it 😂 you got lucky..soooo lucky! But as always this was another great video and can't wait to see what in-store for the next one...Good to have my favorite channel back!!!! ..awesome job 👌
haha knew i did it wrong XD thanks josh!!!
Glad you're back Caleb!! Missed your content
Nice CHAIR you got there. Old school vibe achieved!
Saw your post on IG with the MG. Looks fantastic!! Can't wait for the video on it.
Amazing transformation on the Triumph! The right person who really appreciates it will turn up and pay good money for it. You did very well to get it to this stage. I'm proud of your efforts. Keep cranking out these videos.
Thanks so much man! very cool you are following on ig as well. Thought about not posting that but felt like you guys deserved to see it.. video imminent
Chair!!! Very happy to see you back. Kids are growing! 🥰
Love sitting in my favourite “chair” and watching your videos.. glad to see your back at it 🤙🏼
Glad you are back , really thought you were going to quit so glad you didn’t . I really enjoy the wholesomeness of your channel and your little helpers 😂. That’s a really cool car can’t wait to see what’s next. Maybe put an electric motor on that “Chair”
Really nice to see you back. Keeping it real, and again taking on an impressive "small" restoration :-) You have a great chair!.
I can't wait to show you guys everything I've been working on! More next week! so glad to be back!
Really excellent intro. Wonderful chair. Extremely well done voiceover during the mechanicals. And the primarily painful part is that. It’s not a tiger. With a small block. V8. Lol keep up the great work.
love that ur back, nice chair
very glad to be back!
Good to see you Caleb!
That starter style is called an inertia starter, it uses the rotational force to pull the pinion in from the back of the flywheel.
They work fine, but can wear the flywheel and pinion faster than a pre-engaged starter due to the fact that the pinion is already turning when it tries to engage the flywheel.
There usually are pre-engaged replacements available if it does turn into an issue, specially for most Morris/BMC/Leylands, not sure on Sunbeams though.
I could tell straight away that starter was not the issue, it made a nice engagement sound and then stopped dead, meaning to engine doesn't turn. But that is just prior experience.
Nice car, nice chair.
By the way, although the Sunbeam Tiger was the title scene car in most of the Original "Get Smart" TV shows, they actually used an Alpine with Tiger badges in most of the shows to allow more room under the hood for the pop-up machine guns and gadgets.
(Insert Rainbow, and "The More You Know" gif here.) 😆
Finally after a long years of wait....its good to see you back....love from india meghalaya
Thank you so much!
So glad to see your still going, I hate to see how poor of a job CZcams is doing to push your content out like it used to. Hope you’re doing well man, keep it up!

I couldn't wait to sit in my CHAIR and get your update.
I cannot wait to see your next update hopefully from the same CHAIR.

Love the vedio. And your chair
its a great chair!
Happy you are back brother, lovely royal chair! Cant wait to see fat$un!!!
Chair. In the early 90s had an Opel with a terrible pierburg carb. Everybody said weber 36dcd. Took a stroll in the breakers yard and found alfas had the weber 32/6 bought 5 for the price of one 36dcd nobody wanted them. Mates with the 36 conversion constantly moaned about fuel consumption and the carb not being responsive. Mine worked like a dream no issues. Wasn't long and all my mates had also changed to the 32 and no more issues. Moral of the story Alfas do have a little value 😂 for spare parts
Thats awesome! I love the 32/36 it just seems to work on every old 4cyl. such a great little carb!
Badass bro!! Been waiting for your comeback!! Thanks to you, I have started my own CZcams channel, I appreciate all the inspiration you remind me a lot of me when I was your age!! Chair.
So happy to see you posting again man. Still are my favorite channel.
