I think at this point, we’d like you to just go through all the Jordans. Cut each model in half so we can all really see how the sneaker technology progressed throughout the years. Great video!
That would be pretty cool. The 4s and 10s were super comfy at the time for me. Was a huge Jordan lover. Could be like a moctober type series. Just for Jordan's.
Love the 12 taxis
Big Facts
Agreed. Like the 11 esp.. that shiny "patent leather".. I've never seen someone burn it to check its rubber content lol
Yeah , I agree, also I'd just like to see every model because I can feel better at passing on releases knowing the quality
I played in 3s to 7s and the 3/4/5 were the most comfortable shoe for a running game of the era. the "fake leather" was part of the marketing. these are made of synthetic materials used in the sport car market to get lighter seats. Here they achieved lighter shoes with close to the look and durability of "real leather" shoes like the Converse Weapon and other Nikes. These shoes were lighter by FARRR compared to Kangaroos, AVIA and LA Gear and Adidas of the era and we much less fatiguing. after long practices these shoes simply left your legs feeling fresher.
By time the 6/7/8s came around, Jordan changed up his game again and had much more of a post-up style game. That era shoe was stiffer, made on a narrower last and fit your feet a lot closer. Same for the Foamposites (although Foams were a little softer on the soling than Jays)
But we knew it wasn't leather.
And we knew they were not built to "last long". The rubber on the sole was supposed to be more "sticky" for indoor court traction and grip and less wear on outdoor courts. These shoes were purpose-built for wooden indoor court play, whereas the typical other shoe was more of a outdoor shoe, made to last. I can tell you that when i played my first indoor game in these...the GRIP was intense! That first couple steps acceleration was like nothing else at the time. I also wore Pumas, Shell-Top Adis, Ewings, Weapons, Blazers, Flights, AFs...nothing had that chewing gum grip like 3/4/5s Jays!
3/4/5 are quite possibly the least comfortable Jordans I've ever used ngl.
@@michaellk2254 the originals were much more comfortable with softer polyurethane
Thanks for the info my dude
the most comfortable are AJ 13 an maybe 14.. 5 are uncomfortable as shit..
88 jordan was completely different from these, luckily they're improving shape, materials are always hit or miss
Love the 3's. I think it was the "new" Jumpman logo on the tongue that sold MJ and Nike's future commitment to him and his insight & influence on design. From there, his stats and accolades through the '88 season was a huge spotlight on the shoes and the line took off to new heights.
I have two pairs of these, good to know. I love seeing pairs that I actually own getting cut in half and analyzed
For real you get to see all the tech inside without destroying your own pair
🤣🤣🤣 case ur a geek
@@ernestoarellano7869 🤷♂️
If it's true that Geeks run the world count me in 🤓
Got 3, disappointing to know the real leather part was still coated with fake plastic materials. Basically more fake than real😭
And those sneaker reviewers still saying tumbled leather jordans are high in quality..
I have been through 3 pairs of these and am now on my fourth. We’re talking thousands of miles, minimum 6km every single day since 2018. They are absolutely excellent.
how comfortable are they?
@@gooberlaya most comfy of the old school Jordan’s. All day wear no problem
I’m just a young mexican stoner that smokes weed on my CZcams channel, tryna me it out the hood One Day👌 When i look at the top where all the successful people are… there isn’t NO mexicans 💯💯☔️
Great vid. Still waiting for the 11’s. Probably the most popular and complex Jordan. Full non visible air unit, full carbon fibre “shank”, patent leather mudgaurds, very interested in how they are made. I just bought a low version the “72-10 Low” which incorporates tumbled leather. Very nice looking and slept on shoe.
*J3's are the GOAT*
Timeless, classic, fresh, and they still look modern decades later.
I’ve only owned one pair of 3’s, so I cannot say it’s the same for all versions and the materials they use, but from my perspective much of the comfort lies in the width of the shoe and how it sits on the foot so to speak, especially since I have slightly wider and flat feet.
Great video as usual! 👍🏻
I love the research that you do for these videos. Props to you for that
Thanks for cutting the 3's in half! It's nice to see what makes up the pair that I have
I love that you don’t just rate the shoes but also explain the background and the history behind it. Pls do more
Definitely what keeps me watching. I wouldn't watch otherwise unless I was considering the shoe for myself, but all the extra info is super interesting to just watch for fun.
Gotta love these videos. I’ve been watching your videos from the beginning and I’m glad to see the channel growing
Very Informative, appreciate that!
On the first day of wearing my Jordan 3s, I can definitely feel the air in the forefoot 👍🏼
This video was awesome! The Jordan 3 is one of my favorite silhouettes. I would love to see u guys do the Jordan 11 which was a game changer. Or the Jordan 8 or 9 which both are polarizing. But what ever u guys do, much love and keep doing it!
Great series man! Looking forward to the next one. Would love to see the 4s through the 13s at some point!
These are my absolute favourite jordans, nice to see them on the channel!
these vids are jus awesome man..
I learn so much from your videos. And it is fun to watch, thanks!
I really appreciate the history you give on the shoe re: the midcut, tumbled leather etc, i hope you do all the others, at least up to the 11s
Simple but interesting & technical review video again.
Nice work,man
Hope to see you've done the Air jordan 11 or 14
Great video.
For the crumbling midsole. That usually happens after 10-15 years, usually shorter for shoes that aren't worn. My 2012 black cement 3s are still going strong since I wore the tread off those.
I’ve been waiting for this great as usual🔥🔥
Awesome video, enough history explanation for context without over doing it, so refreshing seeing a none sneaker heads view on these without all the hype and bs
this is my new favorite channel
This is my favorite shoe. This channel is my guide to buying sneakers. It’s so interesting to learn about what is in a sneaker and if the original tech is still being used or if it’s just similar in appearance to move a lifestyle shoe. I’d like to see a video that breaks down the manufacturers and quality in their retro lines. Could you even play basketball in these or not?
Great channel, really opens your eyes to how footwear is really made!
I enjoy your videos keep up the good work.enjoy too see what in the shoes what tech in the shoe does.and what the technology do
much respect great vlog
Very interesting to watch with all the backside information - love it! The 3's are my fav. all time
Great channel keep it up! Love it
This channel is the this is the most in depth breakdowns of shoes I have ever seen
Good stuff rose anvil, keep the uploads coming lol
Back in 88 I had been saving up for a pair of Air Force’s and the new Jordans came out. I got the black and gray. They weren’t as soft or cushiony like everyone was expecting. I had some Avias at the time that were very soft, just didnt last. Kept the Jordans till someone traded me for some dock Martins. Hey in New Mexico docs were rare
Would love to see how this compares to the Jordan 4s and 5s. 5s look really comfortable but 4s are considered some of the least comfortable 'hype' sneakers; given that you said they're nearly all the same shoe I'd be really interested to see the differences
i can tell you that the 4s are very comfortable, the least comfortable 'hype' sneakers are the 1s (in my opinion).
Well uuuh , the comfiest from 1 to 8 , from my point of view is the 7 , cuz the midsole, after a small break in time is just so fluff , , than probably the 1's, i cant talk about the 2's and the 4's , but all the models from the 3 to the 6 should pretty much feel the same , and the 8 is even more of a brick ( for reference, i have 1's, 5's, 6's , 7's and 8's )
The point is , the polyurethane midsoles of the Retro jordans , are quite hard compared to squishy foam from other sneakers. Back in the day , when they first released, they were way more fluffy , from what i read and heard , and thats why they crumbled so fast. They are made with the same material , just a bit more dense , and so they will still crumble , just slower
@@paulmuller9904 1's are definitely more comfortable than 3's, I own both and the 1 is just a standard Vulc sole with a soft leather upper. 3's feel like rocks on the foot
@@alexandruciocirlau2428 i think u get me wrong, never said that the 4s are the comfiest. I just responded to: "4s are considered some of the least comfortable 'hype' sneakers". That the 1s are nr 2 on ur list, is a bit confusing, but hey, thats ur opinion. For me, the most uncomfortable Js are the 11 lows. Feels like rockin clocks shoes.
BC 3 one of my faves for sure. Nice one for the vid!
My biggest takeaway from this video is that Adam and Eve is way cooler of a company than you’d be led to believe
Love your videos 🥰🥰🥰
You been doing straight bangers lately. Gotta give credit where it's due. 👏🏾
Them white 3's were so clean no Jordan can compare to those
Great videos! Air Jordan 4 White Cement 2016 next please!
Love this series! I would love to see originals of these models cut in half. I believe that the current retros aren’t made with the same quality the originals were. I would keep that in mind with these reviews.
I was all about the jumpman logo, the new air Jordan sign. I remember drawing it all over my school books, all the kids were doing ' air walk layups, trying do do the " Air Jordan"
i actually have this pair. Really interesting to see the inner workings of it. You should do Jordan 4's next. Wouldn't mind seeing you do the rest of the Air Jordan line
You know, this video talked me into getting the Jordan 3 desert elephant release this weekend. I'm really excited to get a pair of my first Jordan's!! It's strange that I'm getting these, because my favorite Jordan's are the 4s, 11s, 13s, and 14s
Great video
amazing video thank u
This is so satisfying to watch
As you are going through these classic GR Jordans, it would be interesting if you eventually dissected pairs of collab Jordans advertised as a "premium version" of the shoe (i.e. A Ma Maniere). It would be interesting to see if these collabs are actually using better materials or if they are just making the shoe more attractive.
This is the best series you’ve ever made! Now we can see what we’re really paying for with the Jordan’s please keep doing these! I would like to see the 10s with the full length air and the 12s with full length zoom
Calm down. It's your Gen that has played out Jordan's for the real.collectors and enthusiasts of the 90s and 2000s just to fit in. If you knew anything you'd know bc of the Neverending need of GenZ/borderline millenial to fit in, nikes quality has gone down 10x since the retros of the early 2000s. Kids that never even watched Jordan play a game that use the term "cap" and "bruh" committing this level of fuckery. And now you're making suggestions for more Jordan's as though they are still the wave?? Lol... you are 12 years late to the party, son.
This is not the best series he's done or what started the channel OR what made his channel great... you only caught wind of the hype beast shoes he did.
I like them , thanks for another great video ..
Weston, most tumbled leather has small stones put in the drum as well to achieve that pebble grain look.
Great channel. First pair of Jordans I bought in 88 , again in 94 , been a fan ever since, probably my favorite , they need to just pump these out, the prices are stupid
Love these keep doing Jordans, yeezys and new balance!
Love your videos, would love to see a video or list of what materials you would use for the perfect sneakers if budget were not an issue
Another feature over the Jordan 2 are the lace holes near the forest foot. They allow more variation for lace adjustment. His was also expanded in the Jordan 4s.
wore my black cement 3s today. def one of my top 5 fav sneakers ever, maybe top 3
yess finally! Now a pair of 4's please!!
Love this content. Awesome to see what’s inside shoes, and convenient for not having to cut my own shoes🤣. Thanks and keep it up! Peace ✌🏽
I feel it was the AJ3's inauguration at the 1988 slam dunk contest and the iconic poster of the foul line jump that made these so popular. Cool video!
Hi Wes love your channel! FYI I am in Québec Canada and yes you have at least one French Canadian subscribed..
I would a have a suggestion for a new series. What about motorcycle boots? Are they better than normal boots? Myth, reality, marketing....who knows...guess we could find out!
Comfort, the air unit, elephant cement print, But most of all the comfort, especially with the lacing opportunities with seperate eyelets.
Love your videos! You guys doing footwear reviews should put them on so we can see how they look on foot with pants, shorts ect.
Hope you cut a 1985 Jordan 1 in half soon because it has the best leather of any Nike product
@@durawya i think he means one from 40 years ago
@@justarandomguy9259 that would be really cool
yea, it would be really intresting to see the differences between the OG 1's and the High 85 1's
@@durawya it is what i mean thats why I said 1985
@@justarandomguy9259 Yeah the leather from the 80s was top notch. A kids could wear the same sneakers every day and they would last the whole year. Some of these retros start falling apart after a couple of months of daily wear.
I enjoy your video’s so much!! Definitely makes you think about the money we sneaker collectors spend thinking we’re getting a superior product. I would love to see a cut open comparison of a Jordan 4 straight from Nike or reseller and then a Jordan 4 from a replica seller. See if the insides match or are way different as well as quality. Just my $.02
Love your videos. I think it would be cool to see Jordans 4 to 14 cut in half. :)
I love your jordan videos
I have the 2011 Version of these black elephant, and the leather quality is still awesome. Only the plastic on the back is slowly cracking after the years. But overall impressed. i love them 😊
would love to see you do a pair of 11s, the patent leather and carbon fiber plate would be great discussion points
I have no idea how these videos don’t get more views, I hope your views blow up one day you deserve it.
Top 3 Jordans no doubt. I’ve had 6 pairs of these and loved them
Adamn and eve, Rose Anvil getting wild
Great work as usual, i'd personally like to see a comparison between the 1s and 36s to see how technologies, Manufacture and materials has changed thoroughly almost 40 years
Nike has changed the Tech in Jordan’s a lot but if you want information on each shoe wearteasters knows alot about each Jordan he has performance reviews and tbh he knows more about the tech than rose anvil no offense
4s and 5s are my favorites from my childhood. Got several retros. Love the 11s too. I've got pairs from 1s all the way up to 11s. Past the 12s and 13s I'm not interested much.
When you look at the original sketches/concepts of the AJ3, they look extremely similar to the air max 1 (1987), it's a classic Tinker Hatfield shape
The 5s, 11s & 12s are some of my favorite's. I would like to see you cut them in half to see what's on the inside. 👍🏽
Would love to see you do the Jordan 7's! My favorite Jordan model for sure!
I like your taste sir, with the Bordeaux pfp
@@cofef3e906 Well spotted, buddy!
Love this kind of videos and cutting these iconic Jordans and see whats inside. I own every pair of Js you’ve cut but i will never cut mine 😅
Remember growing up in the 80s everyone wanted an air bubble…the elephant print was also the kicker new and different
I would love to see the tech behind the Jordan 12, it was the first time with full length zoom but I'd like to see you go in order. show the subtle tech changes and visual design esthetics that were transitioned over from model to model.
The og 3s from 1988 are all leather including the tongue as well, and the insole was also different that you can add arch supports at that time. Surprisingly they did not use fiberboard and actually use the textile stitching on the originals as well.
Yep those red little arch add ons. The pegasus and cross trainer came with them also.
How sure are you that it's all leather, just because it looks like doesn't mean it is.
@@xrizbira because in 1988 that's how they made them. 80's and 90's used better materials. I know because I'm old and I was there...lol.
@@xrizbira you should watch videos of people who have them and you'll see the difference easily. Less PU coating on leather, higher quality, better packaging, it was meant to be used in sports.
@@thomascalderon598 until they tested it, we still can't assume. Given that Nike was not doing well back then, I don't think they will spend more money for the sneakers
Wow men
I learn a lot.
Tnx for ur effort.
Can u do my fave shoe.
The j13
I’m definitely waiting for the 11’s
You should def do the 4s since they are more often suede/nubuck and the 11s since they are supposed to be patent leather to see how good they really are! Awesome vidS!
Request to do a shoe breakdown of the recently released Desert Elephant Jordan 3. This release is not nearly appreciated as the black cement colorway reviewed in this video, but many have touted its superior leather materials. I'm curious to know whether the quality of the leather is really better.
You should jus go up the list 1-14 at least. See how it all evolved
Ur vids are super dope! Thanks again
Hey Rose Anvil, love the videos. I was wondering if you wanted to try cutting apart some puma suedes, nike pegasus' or maybe the asics gel quantum. I've been really curious about all these shoes, so It'd be nice if you could cut one of them apart.
YES, Durameter...20...vs 36.....i wonder how much variation there is in midsoles...ive never seen anyone have this Info. YOU'RE AWESOME
I said it before and I’ll say it again. This is the only man who can make me cry 😢
You Slaughtered those Babies...You Monster
(J.K loved the video really good)
I think the jordan 6-17-23s are slept on… I have a pair, and they are really comfortable. They have zoom and and air units. They feel like flight jets on your feet.
Hyped for the 13s
You should do the fire red 3z dat recently came out to see how the material on em are better 🤙🏽
My all time favorite Jordan. Got my first pair in 88. Played them to the bone.
Hahah I can't believe Adam & Eve is the sponsor...so random lol...great video and Adam & Eve is a great company 😉
Can't wait to see the Legacy 312s
Honestly. I buy the retro stuff because I couldn't get them as a kid. It's almost pure nostalgia for me. I used to collect when I was in high school and got a job but that faded when I got my first car. Now I just buy the ones I really liked. When I wear them. It's like a time machine.
The 3s are so legendary. The 2s are slick though and underrated.
