    That was my experience with the conversion bolts as well. The internet had me thinking I'd be shooting 20 inch groups at 50 yards with them but once I got one & shot it myself I was pleasantly surprised by the accuracy as well. Honestly for what most people are going to use it for is shooting and practicing during shortages when they can't afford centerfire ammo the difference between a 2" and 4" group at 50 yards doesn't make a difference in terms of practical accuracy especially given the limited range of 22lr.
    Everyone should have one as well as a 22lr pistol especially people that can't afford to go out and spend the money on tens of thousands of centerfire rounds for an adequate stockpile of centerfire ammo to deal with shortages. A few thousand centerfire rounds per caliber and tens of thousands of 22lr rounds is a much more realistically priced ammo stockpile for most people and once you have it shortages are a near zero stress experience. Beats the carp outta paying the dollar a round that 9mm & 223 was at the height of the pricing or rationing your ammo to point that you just about never shoot.

    Friend brought his CMMG bolt conversion to the last shindig. Gotta say, double-tapping a steel gong at 25 yards with a 10 pound rifle with absolutely ZERO recoil is a hoot.

    I love my 15-22 and I have it sighted in with CCI Suppressor ammo and it’s very consistent, and functions flawlessly.

    Thank you very much Sir, your information has helped me a lot. I am now sold on the dedicated 22 upper option. CMMG coversion option sucks, specially when the dedicated upper does not cost more.

    Interesting comparison. The CMMG conversion is basically a shotgun. I 've seen a few other videos on them where great accuracy is achieved. I think the host barrel/chamber is going to be the deciding factor on the results with that set up. You won't know how good it'll be until after you've paid for it...good luck. As far as the other rifles, I think you're right on saying none of them are match grade and people shouldn't expect bughole groups. They will be plenty good enough for plinking and fun.

    Thank You Sir! I like the CCMG blow back bolts and 16:1 barrels with the integrated chamber. I tried the BCA 9" upper. I mounted a red dot and use it for run n gun. With the 16" upper and the Primary Ams 6x ACSS, I can hit those clay disks at 200 yds pretty well. I use CCI minimags (target). 👍🇺🇸 #22aday

    All the ccmg coversion vids ive seen have had way batter grouping with it with doing the ammo comparisons. The dedicateds do still have better accuracy tho.

    Adding the BoreBuddy kit to the CMMG bolt will improve accuracy.

    Go with the dedicated 22 and Beyers barrel and you’ll have an accurate, reliable rifle.

    According to Project Appleseed...a 10/22 can outshoot most shooters.

      True. Factory Ruger 1022 gives 3/8" center-to-center group size at 50yd with CCI std when shot from prone with loop sling.

    I’ve been told that my 15-22 loses zero all the time because of the polymer rail and all the polymer. Could that be true?

    • @matthewrezuke8130
      @matthewrezuke8130 Před rokem

      Very true it’s not rigid at all..

    • @Pipizzakitchen
      @Pipizzakitchen Před rokem

      Oh yeah. You can't get it to hold a right zero very long if there is any plastic at all in the mating areas of your parts. Good quality aluminum rails can be had cheap on all the online shopping sites. Just don't use the screws that come with them. The bigger issue, in my personal opinion, is the tendency of polymer at different thicknesses to expand at very different rates, making the stock flex and contacting your barrel differently from shot to shot. You can easily bed the stock and get more consistent but I would look into floating the barrel. I don't know if that could work on that model, but I did that to my 10-22, and then just experimented with torque settings on the mounting screws.

      Yep, did an Appleseed with a 15-22 this past weekend in 90 degree weather. It would shoot 4 MOA groups somewhere in a 10 MOA area; at 25 yards the group would move around 2+ inches. I was able to get Rifleman by babying the sling to minimize bending the plastic gun and tracking hits with the scope at 6x. Almost everyone else including instructors were using a 10/22. There was a 200yd 22lr contest the next range over and most people were shooting 22lr custom bolt action based on a Remington 700 action. The 15-22 shoots about 6MOA at 100yd and 200yd with tracking using shoot and see targets. I shoot off the shelf centerfire rifles and ammo at 2MOA so the 4-10MOA is the 15-22, not me.
