      awesome review as ALWAYS. PLEASE tell me why did you say you would'nt go that far and declare this tablet as one of the best 8" tablets to buy ?? what do you think is better than this ?? i am looking for an 8" tablet with a great battery life and i find this one very good but you got me curious when you said that. so what do you recommend over this one ??

      shahem enjary, Do some research. No one but yourself can decide which tablet is best for you.
      The tab 3 plus is considerably cheaper. So I think the tab 3 plus gives you more bang for the bug. But if you want the extras go for this one.

      TechTablets.com great review, which is the aspect ratio?

    • @joesalyers
      @joesalyers Před 6 lety +1

      Try "Open Camera" the lenovo and many other tablets can do 60 FPS instead of the stock 30fps with the stock app and the pulsing goes away. Open Camera is free with no adds and is open source and can be found in the google play store.

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  Před 6 lety +1

      Will give it a go, for reviews I also stick to stock apps for the camera and stock ROM's etc. But I'll take a look now.

      An idea why lenovo stopped implementing the compass function : most people will use a protecting case with their lenovo tablet. They work really well with that tablet but they have magnet in them. Those magnets interfere with the compass.

    I have the lenovo tab 4 8 plus(US version) it was supposed to be a good tablet till I found out that the US version has only 2GB of ram. It's a real shame to see such an admirable CPU bottlenecked by this low amount of RAM.

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  Před 6 lety

  • @S_G_86

    This review shows once again how efficient that 625 chipset is.. I bought Xiaomi Mipad 3 around 3 months ago( I know you were highly against that model) but since your review they announced MIUI 9 ROM for the tablet which works flawlessly. And with a discount code I got it for 205 $ which was a steal for that price I think. But even Mipad 3 has same screen size as this Lenovo, maybe because of slightly higher resolution but I think mainly because of Mediatek chipset, SoT reaches maximum 8-9 hours which is real shame since it has a huge 6600 mah battery. I guess if Xiaomi would use Snapdragon 625 , it would be the battery king of all tablets in its category.

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  Před 6 lety +1

      That tablet was such a mess on first release, the ROM was such a buggy nightmare. Maybe I should re-review it. But yes if they could release a SD625 or 636 version I would be all over it. The 625 is an overused chipset maybe but it is one of my favorite ARM SoC's it's got an almost perfect balance of features, power and super efficient. And has powered my main phone for a year now (Mi Max 2)

    • @leledumbo
      @leledumbo Před 6 lety

      Mediatek chipset is the reason I skipped Mi Pad 3. They seem to have stopped using Mediatek at all for phones, so hopefully Mi Pad 4 will follow.

    • @S_G_86
      @S_G_86 Před 6 lety

      Mario Ray Mahardhika actually my main reason to buy a tablet was for media consumption, a lot of reading and CZcams. And to be fair Mipad 3 performance is quite good. I bought Lenovo P2 for my father recently so I know how Snapdragon 625 performs, this Mediatek chipset definitely performs better than Snapdragon 625. So performance gain but lower battery performance. If you can find a deal like I did, I think Xiaomi Mipad 3 is still a very good tablet for the price ( it looks good as well :) )

    • @leledumbo
      @leledumbo Před 6 lety

      Seçkin Güvenç yes, in that case it should be fine. My disappointment with mediatek is that they don't fully open their source code while their GPU drivers are buggy, making the tablet unusable as gaming machine.

    • @S_G_86
      @S_G_86 Před 6 lety

      Mario Ray Mahardhika yeah I wouldn't recommend this tablet for games, it stutters many times during a heavy game. I don't play any games at all so it's fine for me. And you are right about Mediatek, there are not even any useful kernels to get full control over this chipset

    Seems to me the Teclast T8 Master (currently at $189) is a better buy? Or do you recommend this over that? The Teclast lacks the Snapdragon -- yet -- you didn't say the touch interface was laggy. And it has a significantly higher resolution.

      They are both great tablets. The Lenovo has much better audio and slightly better battery life, only touch on the Lenovo seems to lag when scrolling in Chrome. So maybe a Chrome issue with the tablet? But the T8 is a better buy as it's cheaper (Much cheaper)

      Yes, it's too expensive at the moment. But a laptop that has touch, GPS. And is 300 grams, 7.9mm thin, and runs for 10 hours :) Laptops and tablets are built for different uses. Can't compare them like that, but I do see what you're getting at.

      TechTablets.com at the moment all phones have GPS, so having tow devices with GPS will not make much difference. We can compare it with the ezbook 3 pro. This laptop is even cheaper than this tablet, has full windows experience (huge advantage), 13.3 inch screen, 6 GB ram, better procesor, battery lasts relative long (6-8 hours?) and it is also thin (2-3 mm thickens more will not be the end of the world)

Huawei's devices also have lite versions , they are called 青春版 (chinchun Ban in English sound) which means the Youth (chinchun) version (ban). Hope it helps 😃
