  • The ACC is expanding with the addition of SMU, Stanford, and Cal. On Late Kick Live Ep 482 Josh Pate ranked all 17 programs using a rolling 3-year blended set of criteria including on-field performance, talent acquisition, resource pool, and stability. With FSU and Clemson set atop the Big Ten, is there another team joining the top tier? How do the next tiers shake out? Has Mario Cristobal gotten Miami in position to win big on the field? What about the sneaky job NC State has done? Where do programs like North Carolina and Virginia Tech stack up? Could a turnaround be in the cards for Georgia Tech? Let us know what you think in the comments below and be sure to SUBSCRIBE to the channel and CLICK THE BELL for notifications as we bring you multiple live shows per week!

    I can accept Georgia Tech as a tier 4 program given how bad things got during the Geoff Collins error (who I remember Pate being a big fan of when he first got hired) and that the jury is still a bit out on Key after a just decent first season but don't see how Syracuse rates above the Jackets unless you are only looking at the last 4 years. But acknowledging that Tech could easily jump to be behind only FSU and Clemson very quickly is fair.

    There is a difference between “Choosing not to use the Portal” and not landing guys in the portal (referring to the comment on Clemson).
    Clemson offered 3-5 Offensive Linemen before Early Signing Day (well documented) but none of them committed to the Tigers. I think there is very good reasons for this. 1. Dabo has built a culture at Clemson where every player has to earn his spot on the depth chart. This is going to be a turn-off for any portal player looking to improve their spot on the depth chart where they have been.
    2. Clemson is currently limited with NIL by state laws. In the past 2-weeks Dabo, along with other coaches from Clemson, U of S Car., and Coastal Carolina Univ. appeared before the SC State Legislature appealing for changes to current laws in the state of South Carolina that greatly restrict NIL to the point that these universities are unable to provide competitive NIL offers with programs like UGA, FSU, Bama, OSU, Michigan, and USC.

    • @CarlaJenkinsTV
      @CarlaJenkinsTV Před 4 měsíci +1

      1. Dabo is the problem with Clemson. He's the only one with playoff experience. No one on that roster has any. You're not recruiting the same caliber of player. 2. Please NEVER EVER EVER put Clemson and Ohio State in the same sentence when mentioning NIL. If if the South Carolina state legislature allows for NIL, the Tigers and the Gamecocks will never raise as much as the Buckeyes.

    Louisville has a better program than NC state and they have won the past 2 years…

      why people arguing about NC State? I agree Louisville is better program but its close. How you gonna be mad about that and not say nothing about Miami being ranked over Louisville even though Miami is laughing stock of college football. We talking about a team that got physically dominated in the trenches by Rutgers in their bowl game last season.

      @@tomdemay6147 Miami is the USC of the east coast. Any given year they are in top 10 national attention if the Coaching is right. I agree Louisville is better right now than Miami specially the fan base showing up to games but Miami gets better players than both UofL and NcState put together

      @@hjhorn11 yes Miami recruits better but this is NOT a recruiting ranking. Recruiting ranking is one factor in his power rankings and it's the only one Miami would be ahead of Louisville or NC State on.

    All Cupcake Conference rankings would rank far lower in the Big 10 or SEC.
