  • 🔴 Ein Werkstattgespräch der besonderen Art. David Lynch erklärt die magische und mysteriöse Welt des Filmemachens. Eine Welt, in der viele Dinge unter der Oberfläche verborgen liegen, bis eine zündende Idee sie schließlich zum Vorschein bringt. Von den Anfängen als Maler, seinen ersten Kurzfilmen, über die Entstehung von ERASERHEAD, das Verhältnis zu Hollywood, seine wichtigsten Weggefährten, Dennis Hoppers BLUE VELVET-Performance und die eigene dezidierte Meinung zu Filminterpretationen - bis zu LOST HIGHWAY, MULHOLLAND DRIVE, THE STRAIGHT STORY und INLAND EMPIRE: Lynch lässt tief blicken.

    I feel so bad for David, he’s done countless interviews and yet the media just sucks him dry because social media is about content creation not understanding and education and story telling. David is absolutely sharp and so intuitive

      You can tell he always wants to talk about subjects deeply, yet most media want a "greatests hits" of his quotes and anecdotes

    • @RBGRBGRBGRBG
      @RBGRBGRBGRBG Před 7 měsíci +4

      Why feel bad? he gets paid for every appearance. Beyond money tho, If he didn’t want to be there he wouldn’t be there, and he’s also clearly the type of person to steer a conversation/discussion/interview where he wants it to go. I’m Sure he’s aware of what you’re saying about social media. Wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t care, doesn’t strike me as someone who even really uses it. Yet he still shows up to these things (every once in a while😂 it’s clear he doesn’t love it as he doesn’t do it that often) all the same, He says what he wants to say, talks about what’s interesting to him and that’s that. I don’t know that it’s healthy to think in that way… I mean, sure, that’s the way it is… but are you going to stop doing things just because that’s the way it is?

      I like David Lynch’s films but like most ‘fans’, Lynch’s fan are morons. This comment is a great example of that

      They heard his opinion on the sound quality as an opinion, not as a demand to respond like trained dogs. Also, he doesn't seem like the kind of person to manipulate a crowd that way.

    Oliver Stone won Best Director for Platoon over David Lynch and Blue Velvet. Stone is no doubt very talented and Platoon is a fine movie with some interesting layers worthy of analysis. However, at best Platoon is a footnote, inextricably tied to a distinct, fading era. It's perhaps worth revisiting once or twice. But Blue Velvet, along with all of Lynch's work, will be discussed and analyzed for centuries to come. It's timeless. Lynch is timeless, an artist.

      And that's why he won't hit as hard as he will until a long time has passed. His work is the spirit the depths, and the work that is the spirit of the times will always have the upper hand in bias.
      For this reason, a lot of people want to tie him to the spirit of the times, when they attempt to make sociological interpretations of his work. But the heart of it is psychological, spiritual.

    He's not secretive about things really just some like to be willfully ignorant. He says look at these rose bushes and some will be surprised there is dirt and fertilizer and worms beneath the foliage but must sensible people already know that.
