I love gem dragons and psionics. Wotc let me down again with the bs about Sardior in Fizban's.
What if the obsidian dragons mastered their dragon sight and transcended to become part of Sardior (devoured). Maybe the few who remain wanted independence or where too flawed and evil to rejoin
Re: the life cycle of 5e - I hope WotC add in the 3.5 faerun lore for the different states before moving on to 5.5ed
