Thanks for the video! I have 2 Rad City bikes and both stopped working. Almost not miles on them. One started working somehow but the other needed a new computer. Rad sent me one a while back and I was able to replace it following your directions. Please recommend that people not buy Rad bikes. Every Ebike shop in my area said how bad their service is, lack of parts, etc.
I have had the opposite experience. I do not like Rad. I do not sell Rad. Every time someone brings in a Rad bike for work Rad has been super quick and very helpful. This has always bums me out because I want them to fail but so far they have been good. Maybe I have been lucky they have had the parts so far. But I can't talk bad about them no matter how much I don't like them unless they give me a good reason. Keep an eye on my channel. Thanks for commenting.👍
loving the content guys. my question is, those parts can't be cheap, why not bench test the new part before wrestling the old one out if you can expose the plugs?
Last week I ordered some tools for testing before tearing into it. As far as the cost it was under warranty and the company was sending out parts based on the error code the screen was giving me. If I had the tool I ordered on hand I would have found the short in the wiring and may have saved the computer. Thanks for commenting.👍
id rather test parts outside of the frame to cut down on time. do not forget to grease up all contacts when you're working with vehicles and electrical connections, the same goes for brake cylinders etc pp
That goes without saying. My next Ebikes video I need to show the dielectric grease for the connections. You do this stuff all the time and don't think of the fact that some people don't know it exists. Also you lose somethings in the editing process.👍
From my experience it's caused by inconsistent powerflow from the battery requiring parts. The connection between the battery and the controller is not good enough. The other thing that can cause the code 21 is really steep hills. Take it to your nearest service center it should be easy to repair. Goodluck 👍
It was a bad wiring harness. The wiring harness had a bad short that was frying the computer. I had to put a new battery tray, wiring harness and computer but the wiring harness was the culprit.

Good morning to you. The Ebikes are coming in one after the other due to the sheer volume of Ebikes being sold around here. I had 5 come in yesterday. I don't advertise and so far it's not word of mouth. People are calling ahead to see if we work on Ebikes. This repair was a warranty it had less then 50 miles. The wiring harness was bad. I have one of these (Radcity 5 plus) and it has been a joy. I'm halfway through my second summer 2500kms and all I've had to do is change the brake pads and oil the chain. I also like this model bcause it doesn't have fat tires and the handling is superb. Insure it, they are too easy to steal. I assembled it (my rear relector and fender stays are in the correct holes, look at the rediculous rear fender clearance and absence of rear relector, 1:50 ...remove rubber plugs to find holes for fender stay and put the relector in holes where stays are attached here.
Wow, no wonder why Rad does not sell anymore in the UK. Amazing you didn't give up on it!!

It puts food on the table. There is a feeling of accomplishment when the bike is pushed in but rolls out with a smile on the customers face.

Unacceptable. Brand new e bikes should last 10 yesrs, if taken care of. Very disappointed, I was going to get one.
Rad makes some of the best budget ebikes out there. At that price point they are really good.
