It sounds like they have some fantastically technical players, but they really have no idea what they're doing with this piece.
Yeah it sounds like a bunch of classical musicians who just..have no jazz experience
it sounds like everyone is really scared of being loud individually, even the sax solo felt so shy
pretty understandable, wouldnt you say? dont think they were that quiet imo
GOSH DANGIT THE UPRIGHT BASS IS MY FAVORITE PART OF THIS SONG
it's not played on a upright bass in this version :(
hence the comment
I feel sad, I was expecting tank but I’ve got archer instead
Azizulfikri shade
LMAO TRUE!!!
Rock throwers*
Are you dragging? Or are you dragging?
Jack O'Rourke hahaha ikr?
Are you Russian* or are you a dragon*
I was about to say this was the best cover I've heard.. but then I listened more. Then I heard the drummer behind the tempo.. then the trumpets were screwing up, and then the sax messed up the intro to the solo.. and everything else completely fucked up.. sad too. This band had potential.
It's like they all KNOW how to play their instruments very well and can play sheet music but have never heard this song, ya know?
I love and appreciate this video to the fullest from the detail to Dynamics to the decisions to make the improve close but still original to the performers within the video. To those can really appreciate the music, what this anime represented, and also the value of this video for possible inspiriation, please share with your friends, music and anime lovers alike.
"I think it's time to crap this scene, get everybody and the stuff together , Ok 3,2,1 let's suck"
LMAO
最高じゃん!!
Looks great to me o> Nice job guys
Its so good 😢
We are a large group of jazz and 90% who commented does not understand anything about music and jazz, instead of commenting useless phrases, you write what works or does not work in our arrangement, you are constructive and non-destructive. you are writing just to show yourself but you do not say anything sensible. thank you
I appreciate the practice required to get an orchestra of this size to play a piece like this, but....
I’ve heard middle schools sound better
Great job : ) those memories
やっぱり“Tank”は難しい曲なんだな〜と実感。カッコイイけどね👍
Nicely done ...
Mucho arte
i don't think flutes should be in this. not my favourite at all. trumpet section wasn't great at keeping their air steady. i liked the saxes though.
tank! cow boy bebop最高!
Not my tempo.
Not your tempo, this is?
ita jazz
WERE YOU RUSHING, OR WERE YOU DRAGGING?
This song is amazingly similar to Whiplash, both with a brass intro.
It's like they never played blues before... shame *ding*
Killer sax solo
This is an incredibly difficult piece. You did alright. So many other bands are rushing and completely butchering it. You didn't fall for that trap and considering it was a live performance: Well done.
Que belezura!!! 😍😍😍
Oh, 9 years ago......I guess I am a little late to comment on this. Thumbs up guys! (EriC not EriK)
This dosent have the swagger that the seat belts have.....
No one does, honestly...
The flute was a bad decision.
as a flute player who loves flutes in jazz, i agree, it's awful in this song
Always...
Gold
気持ちいい
Oh god those comments made me laugh. I was thinking along the same lines. I've heard that song so many times and a couple of times those notes were missed by the trumpets. It hurt to listen to. The second solo was cringe worthy for sure. Love that song though
Demais.
Me: "Let's turn it up to 11. It's like 10 but 1 louder."
Conductor: "How about we turn it to 5. It's 1 less than 6."
That Christmas tree in the corner is snazzy
this was all over the place.....
As a flute player, this makes me feel bad
Better then I could've ever done
I feel like the conductor just showed them the piece right away and directed everyone how he wants it performed, instead of letting them hear the piece first
They didnt do the count down so it didn't have the spirit and the Ending that is suppose to be the best is ruined.
*_SEE YOU SPACE COWBOY ..._*
where is "OK, 3, 2, 1, Let's jam" ?
i just got lead trumpet on this today boiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
People saying how it could use more confidence and how they didn't seem to know what they were doing, that's true, but it still fits how the song was originally recorded. The original is not perfect, and that adds the charm of it. I think it's fine.
Is there a score for this?
The sax player screwed up near the end of his final solo. Did anyone catch it?
You know, it does have problems, but when anime is so dominated by young guys and gals, it IS refreshing to see a bunch of older musicians digging something so intrinsic to the hobby.
The guy's sax solo was great.
J-music Ensemble does a realy good Tank... (Check out their channel.)
I'm learning Italian, so at least this was ok practice
a couple of missed notes here and there, but overall I liked it. :)
I am the 999th like XD
3,2,1,let's jam!!
Tone deaf.
And it wasn't quite my tempo.
@@imanoljesusdelpozo4907 I see what you did there
See you space cowboy…
The band wasn't ready for it. You can see them all start to loosen up toward the end of the song. and what do you know? They got better when they finally loosened up!
What the name of this musical style?
たぶんアニメなんか見たことない人達がこのスペックで演奏出来るのが凄い!サックスはオリジナル超えてる‼︎素晴らしい♪
1:34 that guy looks a lot like Spike, the hair, the tie, everything.
Wow this was sad
See You Space Orchestra...
its a difficult piece its understandable
“You sing off key” - Spike Spiegel
To hell with them losers who are disliking, I think this is one of the the best cover of tank in youtube.
It's really kool to see so many musicians moved by The Seatbelts music, what many musicians don't know is that many of The Seatbelts tweaked their instruments painstakingly to create bizarrely unique sounds. No one can play Spokey Dokey like their harmonicist can. Too much sax at the end. Less is more. Five out of 10 for me.
I understand the movie “Whiplash” even more now thanks to this
Oop- there you go, the chair's flying again.
Having learn to play the trumpet, this song is tough even when you are really good. Notice that I’m not saying that I’m good.
Setting the video speed to 1.25... yep still not Seatbelts...
+Helton Silva (Spirit) I know right
Tank! Electric Boogaloo
I love how everyone in the comments can be so rude and I bet 90% of them don't play any instrument let alone play good enough to be in a Orchestra of this caliber. For all know this is the first time they played this piece live and it could be a new piece for the band. It's the Seatbelts song so that alone makes it tough to play.
GreenDrank82 actually, I’m pretty sure most people in this comment section do play an instrument, and thus know bad music because everyone has played music badly
You see, saying "you can't criticize something because you don't do it", is stupid, if you know the basics of music you can know pretty quickly what music sounds good and not. So please, give better reasons to why we can't criticize.
Benial ye thats like oh u cant critisize anime bcz u cant draw, like nah i have a working pair of eyes
Considering how you can’t realize that the band messed up I’m pretty sure you’ve never played an instrument before.
@A K i agree but criticism and insult are two different thing .
信じられるか?これ、『アニソン』なんだぜ?
マジっすかアニキ❗️
うん。なんかすんませんʅ(◞‿◟)ʃ
Ok, 3, 2, 1 let's jam
Not quiet my tempo
lol
Samwise Lee Quite*
that solo in the end is really hard to do
I f-ing LOOOOOOOVE all the Whiplash quotes in the comments
Cowboy Bebop
"I Think It's Time To Blow This Scene Get Everybody and the Stuff Together Okay, 3, 2, 1, Let's Jam" !
They sounded like my middle school jazz band (that I was a part of) trying to play jazz. No soul, no interest.
It takes a philistine to dislike this song. Of course it does not conform to your beloved recorded rhythm, this is Big Band, by nature it has less jammming and more structure. A reinterpretation, entirely consistent with the nature of the ensemble.
They arent just
feeling it ?
As a drummer I got say you either practice the shit out of this piece or you don’t play it because it really is a song for the drums.
This needs way more funk
Bom pra carai kkkkkkk
Sweet i actually like tgis version
0:55 somethings about to happen!
Welp. What ever Happens
Happens
Umm......Its actually "Tank!!"
Absolutely agree.. loose the flutes.. add upright base ... don’t muck up the ending.!
ghost adventures
Tank! By Shutterstock
que va no le llega a la version de la serie, y el saxo que va al final, nah le falta un buen
3 2 1 let's jam
Not perfect but not that bad. I do miss the countdown in the beginning though.
とても良い(`・ω・´)b
A 227 reggeatoneros no les gustó este video.
Oh. My. Sasquatch.
3:42 Duncan! What are you doing man! Lay off the sauce!
良い出だしだったのにドラムで一気にローテンポになったね
This was just kind of sad and though the song is upbeat, after watching this i dont feel upbeat
this feels too clinical
I think the reason why it feels so out of tempo is because of the microphone setup.. just listen to the bass drum, it's very audible and it sounds like the microphone is just a couple of inches away.
It would probably have sounded a lot better if the majority of the sound was taken from in front of the orchestra (people wait for the drum sound to reach their ears before they play, there's a delay within the orchestra naturally).
... or they suck ;) (jk)
Now are you a rusher, or are you a dragger or are you gonna be ON MY F-ING TIME?
its good stop complainig for god's sake
Where's the bongo man
Asqueroso final que le corten la cabeza a ese sax alto
Ok 3 2 1 lets jam
