  • A customer made the claim online that he had a 4x8 almost full and that the case caused the last butt to be gouged. I test that claim here.

There is nothing wrong with your cases John. You make the best cases out there. Keep up the good work.

Guaranteed he accidentally put a shaft in the same hole that already had his butt in it.
Or he was trying to carry more than 12 items, and was hoping to put a 13th item (Shaft or butt) into a pocket that already had something in it b

Keep crap out of the cue spaces...and nothing gets hurt If you drop stuff in the case, it's user error.

I honestly, not trying to call anyone a liar (not great business), but when looking closely it seems on a new case you have to make sure you're placing the butt/shaft in the right hole. They are close and the extra padding and tight fit of a new case makes it easy to do. Very much likely that in a rush or not paying attention that could very well happen. I remember my first rugged case by JB it was a pretty tight fit and I had to leave my cues in the case for a while for the cues to fit easier. I have had my case personally for 4 to 5 years and no problem at all with it. The cues still fit in the case without falling out and no damage or rattling ever. I've tested and I've even had the case fall over with the cues in it at the pool hall and I had no issues or damage.

Yes to me... this claim seems like a fraud. I own a 4x8 I keep mine full. NO WAY this would ever happen with my case. It's rock solid & ultimate protection. I know you won't... but if it were me, I'd tell the guy to pound sand!!! JB Cases... ROCK ON !!!

I dont understand how you can damage your cue in a jb case? The interior is super soft and plush.

I have to comment on this one, I literally just tested my case and loaded it up and two of the shafts are touching. I tried sliding a piece of paper between the shafts and it wouldn’t go between them. Also on one side where the shafts go I had to physically spread the two shafts apart to put the last shaft in because the opening wasnt even big enough to for the tip to fit between .

If you have any problem with a JB Case we are happy to help. When I know what case you have I can make a video showing how to load that size.

If you look at 18:03 into the video you can hear the butt clank against another cue when u pulled it out. Do you agree?

    • @jbcasesoriginal
      @jbcasesoriginal  Před 4 lety

There is a click if the butt is pulled out without taking a shaft out first. That click is very gentle abs very fast. Nothing that can harn the cue. I have tested it dozens of times trying to damage a cue.

    • @ricco2644

Understood. Not trying to beat u up with my comment, was just simply making an observation of points of contact between the cues.👍

@@ricco2644 I agree that there is contact between the cues. John states that the contact is very fast but the duration of time of contact I don't think has much to do with the damage it can cause. It is more the force of the contact. In some of John's other videos discrediting other cases he shakes the cases around to the point that you can hear an audible click of the shafts and or butts hitting each other, stating that this can cause damage. To which I absolutely agree. Although I think that the small amount of contact that the cues made in this video may not have been sufficient to damage the cue, that possibility still exists. I would think that if you removed the shaft first and butt second this might prevent the contact from happening. From the research that I have done JB cases seem to be the best out there currently in regards to protection of your cues. This why I am looking though all of his videos to see how protective they are. I have always been a fan of Joe Porper cue cases because they completely surround your cues with padded tubes and are super protective. I have never been a fan of the non tube type cases. That being said with the Porper cases no longer available, JB cases do have a lot of padding in the dividers and seem like they will protect your cues better than anything else out there, withing the same price range and style.

Yeah, the butt barely grazed the joint collar of the shaft, when he pulled the butt out. I do not think that gentle / very slight graze could ever hurt a butt with a decent finish on it.

After watching this video I know how the cue got damage. The customer didn't have a joint protectors on the treaded part of the butt and he tried to put the butt treaded side down in the space for the butts and he gouged that butt he's self or he had two butts up and two butts down causing the extra pressure on the butts and again its the customers fault and not the design of the case.

At Ric co, Clear as day you can hear that clink, just because it's "fast" doesn't mean it won't cause damage. If a person has an older cue with a thicker butt sleeve area, I think Jacoby is like1.25" at the thickest point at the bottom of the butt(pretty standard). Well, that is quite a bit thinner than many of the old school cues. I am sure you have shot with some older cues John, you have probably seen joint collars bigger than Jacoby's .847, right?
So if someone was using an older cue with lets say a joint collar at .865 and a butt sleeve of 1.35, seems extremely plausible his cue could have been gouged, or that clink would have been quite a bit louder. What was the butt sleeve and joint diameter of the cue, was it an older cue? If you are discrediting the person's claim, but don't know that information this rebuttal video isn't quite as good.

I have tested it with cues at all common sizes. As I stated and showed, no damage.
