- In Donkey Kong Country Returns and Tropical Freeze there is very cool Minigame every time you beat one of the games' bosses letting you literally beat up the Boss you just defeated.
This video shows me beating up all the bosses of the two games with the maximum amount of hits possible (22 for each DKCR Boss and 25 for every DKTF)

I like how the Tikis are practically begging for mercy before DK just demolishes them, but I prefer the punching sounds of Tropical Freeze.
It almost makes you feel sorry for them. But then again, they had it coming. 😅😅😅😅😏😏😏😏
It could just be me, but the Banjo and Panflute tikis seemed significantly less scared than the others, especially compared to the Accordion and Xylobone ones.
I wish we could have seen DK do the exact same thing to King K Rool but even more brilliantly epic and dramatic

I think a cool touch for the tikis’ beatdowns would be sounds from their instruments. Like the gong has gong sounds and the accordion has broken sounds like it’s well, being broken.

Dude you just came up with with a good detail they should possibly add with a potential DK Country returns deluxe (and before anyone says that won’t happen, just remember we got Kirby return to dreamland deluxe and nobody expected that So just remember to always expect the unexpected)

I never liked the Tropical Freeze bosses as much as the Country Returns bosses because they never had a defeat cutscene. Seeing the boss give up and the worn out tikis rise out of them before getting demolished felt so satisfying. In TF it just fades to black and you beat ‘em up. I don’t know, just not as fun. Still two of my favorite games of all time though.
The bosses on TF aren't being possessed or anything and having the last hit on them be you just beating the crap out of them is super satisfying. Yeah it'd be cool if they had a defeat cutscene but it really doesn't take anything away from them.
Returns has more bosses than Tropical Freeze.

@@chrange9714Death cutscenes would be great for the bosses in TF, Infact in CR the tikis escape and fly at the screen if you take to long so if TF had a death cutscene and you take to long the boss would get back up with like 1 or 2 hp left

Fair, but counterpoint: you literally ram the fucking moon into the guy, and dunk him and his entire fortress into an active volcano. That’s fuckin cool in and of itself.

And honestly, if they make another game, they have to have K. Rool return, he was brought back in Ultimate, who's to say he can't come back in the next mainline DK game?
It always feels so satisfying to pummel the Tikis into the atmosphere. The Tropical Freeze bosses... they're alright i guess, but it just doesn't feel the same.

I wonder if this inspired Jungle Rush in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as Donkey Kong's Final Smash. Beating up the bosses in the two games and sending them into the sky is like a Star KO. Unlike the Maracas, Donkey Kong can only beat up one of the three Ba-Boom brothers.
That would be interesting! Tho the final smash is kinda more based on Donkey Kong Jungle Beat.

@@teaoftrafficcombining them would be a good idea since you can have the jungle beat beatdown for when fighters aren't at least 100% and then they could do a unique final smash outcome like how they did with joker in ssbu by making donkey Kong do a guaranteed star KO on every fighter at 100% or higher.
When you think about it, there's a difference in the nature of this mini-game between the two titles: in DKCR, the bosses are animals being controlled by the Tikis. So after you beat the boss (the animal) you give the Tikis their comeuppance in this mini-game. In DKCTF, the bosses are simply bad guys, straight up, and often are difficult as hell. So the mini-game plays more like catharsis for the player after everything they just went through (while DK gets to give the baddies an extra whuppin').
I hope King K Rool gets in another DK Country game soon

Imagine if Knuckles got another solo game or if they did a sequel or remake of Knuckles Chaotix and they end the boss fights with Knuckles (or Espio, Charmy, or Vector) do this.

Thanks for this! The walkthroughs I've found for tropical freeze never do the beatdown, they only do the one hit and it's so unsatisfying.

How do you get more then 1 hit. I use to play this when It first came out and could always do it but now I don’t understand how to do it. It’s like it’s impossible now
I have the same problem too
It probably happens because you shake the Wii remote as soon as the sequence begins, I used to do the same mistake as a kid. You just have to wait like a second more to get Donkey Kong closer to the enemy and to make the Wii remote icon appear. (If you're playing Tropical Freeze it's the same thing)

I actually think it's too bad that the KO music wasn't the same in Tropical Freeze as it was in Returns and there weren't similar cutscenes of the Tropical Freeze bosses' defeats to the Returns bosses.

Always felt like the DKCR version was so much better because the little jingle that plays is not only super catchy but is just ridiculously triumphant too. In the future they need to bring back that jingle because it’s just way better than the TF version.
