    Our school bus barn here just returned all the emissions stuff back on their school buses....apparently the old mechanic deleted all of them, these are like 2010-2016 school buses about 25 of them, apparently a "Karen" got fired from the bus shop and went to the school board and made a huge deal of it bx some of the school buses "smoked"...the school decided to "do the right thing" and protect the kids from emissions...it cost about $70,000 in parts...my uncle is on the board and voted to not "fix" them, but he is the only Man on the board..we have no emissions testing here in Arkansas..

    What is really messed up about all this emission B/S is that the military doesn't have to have all the emission crap & apparently the law enforcement doesn't either. A county cop passed me the other day and for some reason he gassed on it & blew black smoke all over the place.

    • @1oldskoolluvr
      @1oldskoolluvr Před 8 měsíci

      His comment regarding that peaked my interest as well, and i think needs proper clarification on it.
      While i'm not heavily versed in what the US military classification can encompass, in Canada, a "military vehicle" only applies to a vehicle that is registered to the CAF. Simply being employed by the military does not cover your personal vehicle for what their rules (pertaining to ownership, safety requirements, emission systems) cover.
      If the US military vehicle rules blanket cover anyone who is employed by any branch if the military, well....that's just bullshit - in my opinion.

    The EPA can and will put a nationwide hold on your registration. I had a Subaru with a JDM STI engine swap and it didn't have an OBD2 connector. I tried to get an emissions test to sell it in an emissions test county and it failed, I went to the state testing station and they told the EPA it didn't pass and they put a hold on my registration. I had to sell it to someone that converted it to a OBD2 ECU.

      The EPA will normally go after one fella and then have that fella with that deleted truck squeal on their mechanic in exchange for a slap on the wrist at the worst and then go after the mechanic. The state has said that the EPA cannot enforce their regulation on individuals unless you are engaged in inerstate commerce, since the Federal government doesn't have authority over matters internally in the state. I love the videos where the ATF or some other government agent shows up harassing people and the local PD or Sheriff arrests them.

    • @MrWhiteTank
      @MrWhiteTank Před 6 měsíci

      Exactly, that’s why the EPA is now targeting manufacturers like Cummins. They are telling them to send out a recall to owners for an “updated” ecm software reflash which will show up in vin when you go to register it. If updated ecm flash not completed and visual emissions equipment is not there will be automatic fail. Some states now have required diesel’s to do emissions yearly too. So Cummins will recall at least 600,000+ trucks to correct the ecm software. Hopefully Cummins doesn’t give in but I’m sure they didn’t like paying the $1.67 billion penalty. 😢

    • @kdw75
      @kdw75 Před 6 měsíci +1

      This should cost the EPA. Instead we pay insane amounts for new cards that have all this stuff on them that makes them more dangerous and less reliable. Driving up a switchback pulling a trailer only to have your truck shut down because it ran out of DEF or needs to regen isn't sensible. Then they have the gaul to exempt government vehicles because it is inconvenient.@@MrWhiteTank
