When I was in high school, I always had the best grades and always been a class topper. I graduated with the highest GPA in my school. I wanted to be an astronaut. I wanted to study maths, the laws of physics, the planets, and the stars but we didn't have that in my country. The closest thing to the sky I could be was a pilot but I had to join the military academy for that. The other alternatives were too expensive and I was not eligible for scholarships. I had to be realistic and lenient with my choices. So I went to a business school. I'm a junior finance major now. The reason behind such a choice is that I wanted a field of studies that isn't very complicated but has a good job market and offers good opportunities. I'm content with my choice. I find finance and economics very interesting. Sometimes, I'm under the weather and miss the drive to do things. Other times, I walk the extra mile, and in between, I just try to smile appreciatively and be here. I was once a little astronaut with big dreams, and those were good times. Now, I'm trying to be something else, with new and bigger dreams. I figured that even good things have to go aside to leave room for better things to come. My constant endeavor is to try with perseverance through desperation. I hope everyone is okay.

I used to tell myself I wanted to be a scientist someday, and an astronaut, and an inventor, and a musician, and a painter, and more... just like the scientists in our history. I still want it now, but it might be delayed for a little bit :) I have to help my family 😅 I guess every night ... I should turn myself into someone I want to be and it'll be enough ☺
It can actually help you to do that every night. The method is called visualisation, try to feel it as real as you can. Think what you'd do if you were that person already, how would you start your day compared to the usual? As someone who had and has to help his family A LOT, so your own dreams get delayed a lot .... you can do it! ;-) Always remember - your dreams are important, and most importantly dreams don't expire.

I remember being a kid loving the dream of being an astronaut then being diagnosed with asthma. I thought oh I'll just be an engineer or an astronomer but now that I'm about a year into college, the dreams too far gone..I don't know what to do with my life honestly, and it hurts knowing I'll never be able to see outer space with my own two eyes. We're so small in such a vast universe and I wanted to explore but I was born too early and with the wrong body for it. I just wish I knew my purpose on this little rock of ours, cause I want to be the man that little me could look at and say "wow you're so cool!" even if that little astronaut will never see the stars...
Got an equal story, it‘s still my dream to become an astronaut but my health could be in my way. Reading the title instantly made me cry inside. I rembered back then when I was 5. I loved the outer space, the moon, the planets and the stars so much. I wanted to know more about them but bacl then i had no idea what the Internet was. So my only go to was Little Einsteins and my dad. Years passed, I still had the same dream. It was 2012. I was 8. I was struggling with Maths. The teacher taught the class at such a fast pace. I couldnt catch up. On that one particular day, the teacher gave us questions to solve. Hard questions. Later that night, I asked my mom to help me with my Maths homework. She explained the solution, over and over. But somehow I couldnt wrap the concept around my head. It was so difficult for me to understand. Eventually she had enough of my stupidity. She started raising her voice probably loud anough the whole neighborhood could hear. She repeatedly hit the table with a feather duster. A few feathers would fall every time it hit the table. And I started crying. She asked what was the correct method for the answer, either multiplication or division. My head was blank. I literally thought that i would die if I didnt give her the correct answer. I was silent. She yelled at me. She was furious. I actually wished i would die that time. I dont remember how it exactly ended. But what I can say is that the question was solved. My mom gave me what felt like a one hour lecture. Telling me that it was a "simple" question and well i couldnt remember the rest. I cried myself to sleep. Just before i closed my eyes, I told myself that I could never be an astronaut even if I tried. Just because i couldnt answer a "simple" question. My love for the outer space is still in me. But my ambition of being an astronaut has been long forgotten. Sorry for telling a story that no one asked for. If you read all the way here, thank you. I appreciate it very much♡

I use not to tell my thoughts to anyone, but this lofi community is so special I want to share one of my deepest. We all go through those moments in which we are in need of help and ask for advices to someone else. Well, there is nothing worse you can do. Let me explain. If you ask someone how you should behave in a situation, he/she is going to tell you how HE/SHE would behave, so if you take advices from others you are going to act like someone else. We all had different experiences, so we don’t face life the same way simply because we are different. We are unique, and we are the only ones who truly know ourselves, deeply. So guess who’s the one who knows what is the better thing for you? It cannot be someone else and it cannot be the one you are right now, otherwise you wouldn’t ask for help. Here's the answer: you should CLOSE YOUR EYES AND FEEL HAPPY. How would you feel if you already reached your goals, if you were in a happy relationship, if you were JUST HAPPY? You must feel the happiness; and once you do, ask for advices. Got it? The only one who can help you going through the darkest moments in life is the one YOU WANT TO BE and the one YOU WILL BE IN THE FUTURE. Trust me, even if you haven't felt happiness in a while, we can trick our minds and make them think that we are happy. I personally believe that simulating a conversation (like a chat) with the happy part of yourself could help. In early 2020 before the COVID-19 outbreak, I used to sit at my desk at home and listen to this while I would do school work late at night. And honestly I love that because it was one of the few moments that I felt truly at peace. But when the virus began my family took me away from my home and I’ve been in isolation in the middle of nowhere. Now every time I listen to this I remember the good times back at my home, and I feel human again and not like an animal in a cage. I feel at peace
I usually never cry and it's very hard to make me cry, but, for some reason I started crying when I heard Lofi Psycho. It just hit different, it just made me think about the happier times in my life growing up with my best friends, having sleepovers, going to the park, getting along. Now I'm older and it seems like some of us drifted apart as we got older and that's the sad reality. And I go to the Lofi comment section to search support and I love the positivity here. So that now made me decide to be that positive support to all of the friends that I have left, be the reason they smile, cracking awful dad jokes, and never leaving their side. It may not be much in their eyes but I'll be satisfied knowing that I spent my energy trying to help other people be happy and as the saying goes "their's more happiness in giving than receiving". :) (sorry if I quoted it wrong English is my second language)

I used to dream of being an astronaut for days on end, I thought about how nice it would be if I could get as close to the stars as possible. I never was interested in the sun or moon either. I used to draw stars on EVERYTHING. And my astronaut dream- well I study so much for it! But recently, my dream has been fading, my mental health failing and my grades slipping. I'm still a kid but the stars in my eyes are dimming. but I have to try to keep going and get to my dream. thanks for being here

I know it's tough to look back and realize some of your friends have drifted away; i cry about that too. but i guess sooner or later we'll have to learn to accept it and know that the joy you got from the times you were together, even if they're gone, will always stick with you. please keep working hard for your dream, i know you can do it. and (sorry for this cheesy attempt at a metaphor) stars don't dim, they twinkle! so even if they fade a little i can promise the stars in your eyes will come back to shine stronger than ever.

when i was little i used to have this dream. AND specifically it still stays with me. so this dream i had was of my being able to draw anime because i LOVED anime at the time. then i tried and it was horrible and i hated it. so then i knew i couldnt draw anime and.. i gave up. 2 years later i tried it again it was still bad but i had confidence on my side this time. today 4 years after all of this i think im really good at drawing anime. hope u like my story ~* " U " *~

When I was in high school, I always had the best grades and always been a class topper. I graduated with the highest GPA in my school. I wanted to be an astronaut. I wanted to study maths, the laws of physics, the planets, and the stars but we didn't have that in my country. The closest thing to the sky I could be was a pilot but I had to join the military academy for that. The other alternatives were too expensive and I was not eligible for scholarships. I had to be realistic and lenient with my choices.
So I went to a business school. I'm a junior finance major now. The reason behind such a choice is that I wanted a field of studies that isn't very complicated but has a good job market and offers good opportunities. I'm content with my choice. I find finance and economics very interesting.
Sometimes, I'm under the weather and miss the drive to do things. Other times, I walk the extra mile, and in between, I just try to smile appreciatively and be here. I was once a little astronaut with big dreams, and those were good times. Now, I'm trying to be something else, with new and bigger dreams. I figured that even good things have to go aside to leave room for better things to come. My constant endeavor is to try with perseverance through desperation.

It can actually help you to do that every night. The method is called visualisation, try to feel it as real as you can. Think what you'd do if you were that person already, how would you start your day compared to the usual?
As someone who had and has to help his family A LOT, so your own dreams get delayed a lot .... you can do it! ;-)

Who do you want to be when you grow up?
I remember being a kid loving the dream of being an astronaut then being diagnosed with asthma. I thought oh I'll just be an engineer or an astronomer but now that I'm about a year into college, the dreams too far gone..I don't know what to do with my life honestly, and it hurts knowing I'll never be able to see outer space with my own two eyes. We're so small in such a vast universe and I wanted to explore but I was born too early and with the wrong body for it. I just wish I knew my purpose on this little rock of ours, cause I want to be the man that little me could look at and say "wow you're so cool!" even if that little astronaut will never see the stars...

Reading the title instantly made me cry inside.
I rembered back then when I was 5. I loved the outer space, the moon, the planets and the stars so much. I wanted to know more about them but bacl then i had no idea what the Internet was. So my only go to was Little Einsteins and my dad.
Years passed, I still had the same dream.
It was 2012.
I was 8. I was struggling with Maths. The teacher taught the class at such a fast pace. I couldnt catch up.
On that one particular day, the teacher gave us questions to solve. Hard questions.
Later that night, I asked my mom to help me with my Maths homework. She explained the solution, over and over. But somehow I couldnt wrap the concept around my head. It was so difficult for me to understand.
Eventually she had enough of my stupidity. She started raising her voice probably loud anough the whole neighborhood could hear. She repeatedly hit the table with a feather duster. A few feathers would fall every time it hit the table. And I started crying. She asked what was the correct method for the answer, either multiplication or division. My head was blank. I literally thought that i would die if I didnt give her the correct answer. I was silent. She yelled at me. She was furious. I actually wished i would die that time.
I dont remember how it exactly ended. But what I can say is that the question was solved. My mom gave me what felt like a one hour lecture. Telling me that it was a "simple" question and well i couldnt remember the rest.
I cried myself to sleep. Just before i closed my eyes, I told myself that I could never be an astronaut even if I tried. Just because i couldnt answer a "simple" question.
My love for the outer space is still in me. But my ambition of being an astronaut has been long forgotten.

I use not to tell my thoughts to anyone, but this lofi community is so special I want to share one of my deepest.
We all go through those moments in which we are in need of help and ask for advices to someone else. Well, there is nothing worse you can do. Let me explain. If you ask someone how you should behave in a situation, he/she is going to tell you how HE/SHE would behave, so if you take advices from others you are going to act like someone else. We all had different experiences, so we don’t face life the same way simply because we are different. We are unique, and we are the only ones who truly know ourselves, deeply. So guess who’s the one who knows what is the better thing for you? It cannot be someone else and it cannot be the one you are right now, otherwise you wouldn’t ask for help. Here's the answer: you should CLOSE YOUR EYES AND FEEL HAPPY. How would you feel if you already reached your goals, if you were in a happy relationship, if you were JUST HAPPY? You must feel the happiness; and once you do, ask for advices. Got it? The only one who can help you going through the darkest moments in life is the one YOU WANT TO BE and the one YOU WILL BE IN THE FUTURE. Trust me, even if you haven't felt happiness in a while, we can trick our minds and make them think that we are happy. I personally believe that simulating a conversation (like a chat) with the happy part of yourself could help.

In early 2020 before the COVID-19 outbreak, I used to sit at my desk at home and listen to this while I would do school work late at night. And honestly I love that because it was one of the few moments that I felt truly at peace. But when the virus began my family took me away from my home and I’ve been in isolation in the middle of nowhere. Now every time I listen to this I remember the good times back at my home, and I feel human again and not like an animal in a cage. I feel at peace
I usually never cry and it's very hard to make me cry, but, for some reason I started crying when I heard Lofi Psycho. It just hit different, it just made me think about the happier times in my life growing up with my best friends, having sleepovers, going to the park, getting along. Now I'm older and it seems like some of us drifted apart as we got older and that's the sad reality. And I go to the Lofi comment section to search support and I love the positivity here. So that now made me decide to be that positive support to all of the friends that I have left, be the reason they smile, cracking awful dad jokes, and never leaving their side. It may not be much in their eyes but I'll be satisfied knowing that I spent my energy trying to help other people be happy and as the saying goes "their's more happiness in giving than receiving". :)

I used to dream of being an astronaut for days on end, I thought about how nice it would be if I could get as close to the stars as possible. I never was interested in the sun or moon either. I used to draw stars on EVERYTHING. And my astronaut dream- well I study so much for it! But recently, my dream has been fading, my mental health failing and my grades slipping. I'm still a kid but the stars in my eyes are dimming. but I have to try to keep going and get to my dream. thanks for being here

I know it's tough to look back and realize some of your friends have drifted away; i cry about that too. but i guess sooner or later we'll have to learn to accept it and know that the joy you got from the times you were together, even if they're gone, will always stick with you. please keep working hard for your dream, i know you can do it. and (sorry for this cheesy attempt at a metaphor) stars don't dim, they twinkle! so even if they fade a little i can promise the stars in your eyes will come back to shine stronger than ever.
It would be nice to just float around space with no destination nor thoughts in mind. Just the silence and isolation to soothe me as I wander off into the nothingness.
Cuz sometimes I just need a break from society and reality as a whole.

so this dream i had was of my being able to draw anime because i LOVED anime at the time.
then i tried and it was horrible and i hated it. so then i knew i couldnt draw anime and.. i gave up.
2 years later i tried it again it was still bad but i had confidence on my side this time.
today 4 years after all of this i think im really good at drawing anime.

Sometimes, when nothing is going right inside my head, even if it’s just fabricated painful lies about myself that are causing things, just laying down in the middle of the night scrolling through lofi comment sections is what I need. I love everyone here, and I can confidently say this is the community I’m proud to be of. Times get hard for all of us, great and small, but at the end of the day, everyone is an amazing person worthy of love, which is hard enough to tell myself sometimes.

Right now I am on call with my friends, with whom I feel alone. The community of lofi hip hop listeners in the comments help me a lot, even if I can't understand as much because I speak in Spanish. You help me a lot to overcome my problems, I love you so much
I suddenly cried when I saw "Follow your dreams". I gave up my dream when I graduated from college. I stopped everything because of this toxic society. It was very tiring to deal with. To be honest, I used to not really like lofi. No matter what songs I chose, I was never satisfied. Then I accidentally clicked on this video, and all of a sudden, months later - I've listened to almost every lofi song that has come out and every new one that does as well.
