My friends sometimes don't like how chill I am. I'll be chill and relaxed... ripping through traffic at 100-110 on the free way, or jumping off a small building.
I lost my dad a year ago right before I turned 18, it was sudden, painless, he died in his sleep from a condition of the heart. None of us saw it coming, he was fine the night before, chatting and talking about what he was gonna do that week, the last thing he said to me was that he loved me and he was gonna teach me some driving skills that next day, I was busy playing my game, I told him good night and that I loved him without getting up or even looking at him, he went to bed and when I woke up he was gone. Now at 19, almost 2 years without him, I still feel the ache in my chest, the gust of air that left my lungs when we found him, the tears that stained my eyes for days, the numb feeling in my fingertips. I lost my best friend that day, but I still carry the importance of love that he instilled in me, all the acts of kindness and selflessness he showed, the way he treated my mother, completely and utterly loving people unconditionally. I am truly blessed to have been raised by a man like him. I know this is pretty long and a lot of people haven't even read it bUT HEY YOU DID AND THATS COOL! Even if you've lost the people that mean the most to you, they're always there, even if you can't feel it sometimes, their memories, passions, dreams, they rest in you. Have a blessed day my doodz ~ Update ~ By the 20th of August, 2020 it'll have been exactly two years since my dad's death. These two years have been a a trail mix of sorrow, growing pains, and love. The pain of my father not being here and having that fact settle in, the moments of seeing something of his or something he might enjoy and having those memories of what was or what could have been. I miss being fathered, having a figure I could go to when needing advice or help, the feeling of growing up without him and knowing my siblings feel the same as their children grow up not knowing the amazing man that shaped our lives and the lives of everyone he knew. With all things said, the pains, frustrations, not knowing what the hell I'm doing, comes love. This beautiful and powerful thing, so mysterious but utterly breath taking and bold; that was who my father was, and who I want to be. He embodied what it means to love someone unconditionality. He taught me so much and from him I learned how to love (even if its just a smidge), and while I'm not anywhere near the bar he set, I know that the unconditional love he had rests with me and my family, and each of us carries a bit of the love he cultivated. I played this for my newborn about 8 months ago. I’ve played it on and off as the months have passed, and now she seems to recognize it when I turn it on. It soothes her and helps her fall asleep. Love that girl.

I do this sometimes but I can't help thinking about negative thoughts. I guess it's just how I am. I do find peace in reflecting on everything and just letting my mind wander even when I think about everything that is going wrong. It's lonely, but peaceful.
@@wafflenovas I do this too. I feel like sometimes you start thinking negative especially when you're trying to distract yourself from it. There are times where I feel like I'm happy with my life until those negative thoughts appear out of nowhere. Then I just sit on my bed, overthinking a lot. It's just who I am, I guess.

I remember about 2 years ago, I had washed up on the shores of this video after browsing about lofi related collections and compilations.I was 15, and I hated myself for who i was. I also saw a friend end his life a year or 2 prior. I was messed up. I listened to this video every night for about a year. The community this video brought me into helped me so much to realize my self-worth. Though times have still been rough, I am so glad I made the choice to ride it out. I now have a wonderful boyfriend, a job, and multiple offers to universities that will propel me and my skills in Computwe Science going forward. To anyone out there struggling, know that things will never be perfect, but they will get better. Have an amazing day or night ❤

I just discovered this song after a whole night of crying and thinking about leaving this world because everything bad happening right now in my life just made me break down again but I'm really glad I found this video and all of those wholesome comments. My friends and my ex, who I still love, just hurt me so much in the past few weeks but I can't give up life because I know my parents love me and they've done so much in the past few months to get me help with my mental illnesses. I had a small realization while i was lying down, listening to this mix. Like many people here I have experienced depression and am on my long long journey to recovery. I'm doing pretty good, actually, and I'm so proud of myself for it. I'm almost there. But as time goes by I discover more and more little places where depression has left it's trail. Maybe I'm not in that dark place anymore, I'm learning to eat properly and form connections. I'm not sad or hateful. I'm mostly at peace with myself now. But tonight I realized, that to a certain extent, I still live my days like I used to when I was depressed. Not consciously, more like in the flow of my habits. I spend more time alone than I should. I distract myself with things like games and videos. Rushing through the day like I used to, when I was afraid of my own thoughts and tried to fight them off. What a shame and a waste. I am wasting my borrowed, precious time. A few years ago this thought would warrant rather unseemly thoughts. But now, I kindly tell myself, that I never knew better, that I will do my best and do my best in some more things than I used to. I will try to put more care and thought into my day to day, because that's what our lives are, really. Just a day. And it's so sad to sleepwalk through it. So I will try to treasure mine more than I did the day before.
I congratulate you on your mission to overcome depression, while it may not be completed, you have taken a path that not many have walked. I can’t tell you from personal experience that things will be better and that you will be happy because I’ve never been truly depressed, but I can guarantee you that the day will come where you won’t have a worry in the world and you will find joy.

Okay mine, too. Here's my vent: Just because we live in a house does not mean we're actually home. Is it selfish to wanna run away from the toxic people you live with? I think not. When I couldn't find silence and peace, I would listen to lo-fi to drown out the noises, criticism, judgment from those I care about, being misunderstood, and dirtied---all of which used to trigger my depression and anxiety. This playlist right here calms me. Damn, I didn't even know home is not a place. It could be music that soothes your pain. However, it is also realizing we have the power to turn our brain to become our best friend when we thought it was the enemy. So please---be kind to yourself ('cause no else will). Home is within.

Since everyone's writing their thoughts... Yeah I'm stressed about online school in 2020; but I also feel like the things they try to teach us are usually wrong. Like how rain is supposed to represent sadness. For me, rain makes me happy. It's the sunny days that tell you: "Hey, You need to get up and do something productive, look how much of a perfect day it is today!" and that, to me, is sadder than rain, which at least listens to you. Just listen to yourself and never let someone else tell you how to feel :P.

Honestly, I am pretty flexible in that way. I mean, I love almost all times of the day. I don't like when the whole sky is filled with clouds. Like, only clouds. It doesn't matter if it is day or night. And also these classes. I hate the teachers because they have no idea how to use the platform and I have to read all the pointless comments that they give. I also hate that the assignment are full of BS. I mean, at English (not my native language) we have to do several lessons at once and we have to write 1500+ words on Word. And those lessons don't even help us. It just useless crap about "What's that bitch doin' over there?" "That bitch over there is sucking ass" I really hate shit like this. And they are so many problems and exercises. And so much general homework to the subjects I hate/ give 0 fucks about. I wish all of this could've change

My mom was cheating on my dad and now he’s moving back to the us from his gov. job to take us, plus, he’s bribing us by buying a house in the old neighborhood we used to live in - so that we can go to school with our old friends - but even though I don’t really like it, I don’t wanna leave the new life I made here, and I’m so torn between all these responsibilities and choices between my family and friends, I’ve been so stressed that my grades have been dropping and I really needed this. My friend passed away, I'm in middle school this was just about two weeks ago. I loved him, I love you Jason, I miss you so much. He was the funniest, and kindest even though he wasn't the "ideal" student. He wanted to be a doctor to help people not for money, he wanted us to smile so he was funny. We didn't have enough time, me and my friends were on call with him. Within the next two days we were joking that he was dead since he wasn't responding to our text messages. But then parents got an email from the school. All we know it was from an illness but he seemed fine three days before that. I will miss you Jason, we still haven't gone to the mall together with Val and Annie. I miss you spaghetti. I'm really missing you I'm sorry I didnt tell you sooner how much I miss you, I didnt tell you sooner how much you meant to me. I'm sorry I never really showed my appreciation to you untill now. I lost my dad a year ago right before I turned 18, it was sudden, painless, he died in his sleep from a condition of the heart. None of us saw it coming, he was fine the night before, chatting and talking about what he was gonna do that week, the last thing he said to me was that he loved me and he was gonna teach me some driving skills that next day, I was busy playing my game, I told him good night and that I loved him without getting up or even looking at him, he went to bed and when I woke up he was gone.
Now at 19, almost 2 years without him, I still feel the ache in my chest, the gust of air that left my lungs when we found him, the tears that stained my eyes for days, the numb feeling in my fingertips.
I lost my best friend that day, but I still carry the importance of love that he instilled in me, all the acts of kindness and selflessness he showed, the way he treated my mother, completely and utterly loving people unconditionally.
I am truly blessed to have been raised by a man like him.
I know this is pretty long and a lot of people haven't even read it bUT HEY YOU DID AND THATS COOL!
Even if you've lost the people that mean the most to you, they're always there, even if you can't feel it sometimes, their memories, passions, dreams, they rest in you.

By the 20th of August, 2020 it'll have been exactly two years since my dad's death.
These two years have been a a trail mix of sorrow, growing pains, and love.
The pain of my father not being here and having that fact settle in, the moments of seeing something of his or something he might enjoy and having those memories of what was or what could have been.
I miss being fathered, having a figure I could go to when needing advice or help, the feeling of growing up without him and knowing my siblings feel the same as their children grow up not knowing the amazing man that shaped our lives and the lives of everyone he knew.
With all things said, the pains, frustrations, not knowing what the hell I'm doing, comes love.
This beautiful and powerful thing, so mysterious but utterly breath taking and bold; that was who my father was, and who I want to be. He embodied what it means to love someone unconditionality.
He taught me so much and from him I learned how to love (even if its just a smidge), and while I'm not anywhere near the bar he set, I know that the unconditional love he had rests with me and my family, and each of us carries a bit of the love he cultivated.
I know I've said a lot, and this is yoUtuBe WHy aM I COmmEnTIng oN a LOfi ViDeO WitH My sAD StOry-but, from all this I've wanted to carry on what he taught me, to love, and I'm here to say that whatever has caused you to lose faith in love has no power over your heart and the way you can care for people or yourself.

Little update for everyone!
Life's been hard the past few months, everything going on in the world aside, but I've found love in a way I didn't know I could, and though the pain of loss is still strong in my heart it's slowly being overcome by the feelings of captivation and inspiration for what God and the future has for me and my family.

I do this sometimes but I can't help thinking about negative thoughts. I guess it's just how I am. I do find peace in reflecting on everything and just letting my mind wander even when I think about everything that is going wrong. It's lonely, but peaceful.

There are times where I feel like I'm happy with my life until those negative thoughts appear out of nowhere. Then I just sit on my bed, overthinking a lot. It's just who I am, I guess.

I remember about 2 years ago, I had washed up on the shores of this video after browsing about lofi related collections and compilations.I was 15, and I hated myself for who i was. I also saw a friend end his life a year or 2 prior. I was messed up. I listened to this video every night for about a year. The community this video brought me into helped me so much to realize my self-worth. Though times have still been rough, I am so glad I made the choice to ride it out. I now have a wonderful boyfriend, a job, and multiple offers to universities that will propel me and my skills in Computwe Science going forward. To anyone out there struggling, know that things will never be perfect, but they will get better. Have an amazing day or night ❤

Crazy that it's almost 4 years since this playlist came out. I have all the songs memorized, and through everything over the years... these songs have always been here for me. Thanks.
I had a small realization while i was lying down, listening to this mix.
Like many people here I have experienced depression and am on my long long journey to recovery.
I'm doing pretty good, actually, and I'm so proud of myself for it. I'm almost there.
But as time goes by I discover more and more little places where depression has left it's trail.
Maybe I'm not in that dark place anymore, I'm learning to eat properly and form connections.
I'm not sad or hateful. I'm mostly at peace with myself now.
But tonight I realized, that to a certain extent, I still live my days like I used to when I was depressed.
Not consciously, more like in the flow of my habits. I spend more time alone than I should.
I distract myself with things like games and videos. Rushing through the day like I used to, when I was afraid of my own thoughts and tried to fight them off.
What a shame and a waste. I am wasting my borrowed, precious time.
A few years ago this thought would warrant rather unseemly thoughts.
But now, I kindly tell myself, that I never knew better, that I will do my best and do my best in some more things than I used to.
I will try to put more care and thought into my day to day, because that's what our lives are, really.
Just a day. And it's so sad to sleepwalk through it. So I will try to treasure mine more than I did the day before.

Yeah I'm stressed about online school in 2020; but I also feel like the things they try to teach us are usually wrong. Like how rain is supposed to represent sadness. For me, rain makes me happy. It's the sunny days that tell you: "Hey, You need to get up and do something productive, look how much of a perfect day it is today!" and that, to me, is sadder than rain, which at least listens to you.
Just listen to yourself and never let someone else tell you how to feel :P.

Honestly, I am pretty flexible in that way. I mean, I love almost all times of the day. I don't like when the whole sky is filled with clouds. Like, only clouds. It doesn't matter if it is day or night. And also these classes. I hate the teachers because they have no idea how to use the platform and I have to read all the pointless comments that they give. I also hate that the assignment are full of BS. I mean, at English (not my native language) we have to do several lessons at once and we have to write 1500+ words on Word. And those lessons don't even help us. It just useless crap about "What's that bitch doin' over there?" "That bitch over there is sucking ass" I really hate shit like this. And they are so many problems and exercises. And so much general homework to the subjects I hate/ give 0 fucks about.

So many people on here describing their stories/how they're currently feeling now, makes me feel so sad, and so sorry that so many people have to deal with so much, even if it might seem small to others.
I want everyone to know that nothing lasts forever, the pain will go away eventually, trust me, I'm in a rut right now, but I've not given up yet, you just need to be strong, and believe in yourself no matter what, even if you feel that there's nothing left, because once the pain starts to leave, you mind starts to clear and you eventually see that there's always something to strive for, whether it's to go to that restaurant you saw online, or to become a doctor, everyone is important❤

My friend passed away, I'm in middle school this was just about two weeks ago. I loved him, I love you Jason, I miss you so much. He was the funniest, and kindest even though he wasn't the "ideal" student. He wanted to be a doctor to help people not for money, he wanted us to smile so he was funny. We didn't have enough time, me and my friends were on call with him. Within the next two days we were joking that he was dead since he wasn't responding to our text messages. But then parents got an email from the school. All we know it was from an illness but he seemed fine three days before that. I will miss you Jason, we still haven't gone to the mall together with Val and Annie. I miss you spaghetti. I'm really missing you I'm sorry I didnt tell you sooner how much I miss you, I didnt tell you sooner how much you meant to me. I'm sorry I never really showed my appreciation to you untill now. I really do keep texting you knowing that you won't respond. I really love you Jason rest well. Go to where we dreamed of a paradise, filled with things we want I wish I could see you smiling. I wish I was there when you said your last joke I'm sorry. I broke my promises I made.
