Completely possible! I’m 35 and decided to finally go to university, I’m a FTIC student and I’m studying for my bachelors in Mathematics. Got in on a full scholarship and I have a 4.0 GPA, my plan is to get my PhD in applied mathematics with a cryptography and machine learning focus. I was worried about starting so ‘late’ but have been told by my department heads and internships that age is not a problem it’s all about ability! Anything is possible and it’s never too late to pursue what you desire! 🎉

There is such thing as a disability retirement for law enforcement for various federal/state/local agencies. If you are hurt in the line of duty, and it is deemed a permanent injury where you can no longer perform your duties (as in the case with the caller), you would receive a pretty decent portion, even up to 100%, of your pension as if you worked your full 20-25 years. Never work for someone who acts like they are your friends -in your situation as long as you have health benefits, start your own business, under an llc, get started and start hiring loyal employees. Be a good employer manager coaching young employees to grow.... Thats something I never had as I allowed myself to go to work for friends or with friends at a 'great job' that is a dead end job. Friends rob friends who submit to being their peons, and requests from friends to friends to come work with them means they are miserable at their job.

If dont need the money then go do a job thats fun. My first job was working at the movie theater and that has been my favorite job out of every one ive had. If money didnt matter, I might go back to working at one or maybe buy a small one. Theaters these days are overpriced, serve bad food and dont show the best movies. To be fair there arent too many great ones coming out these days. And yeah their chairs have gotten better but still they use that as an exuse to jack up the price.
Point is if you dont need the money, do something you love. My uncle retired at 60-70 area. He had so many health issues. The guy decided to work at a golf place. The guy loves golf. His health improved, he smiles more. I have never seen him glow so much. And its been a few years since he started and he still looks better than when I saw him in his 40-50s. Do a small job that you find fun. You will not regret it.
