I’m glad you’re finally checking her out… But this is not the video to start with! She has lots of strict performances, very heartfelt beautiful songs that show off her vocals. Including an orchestra version of this song that you’re listening to,” hero”.
I also don’t really get the logic for not listening to her version of “this mountain”. I hope you intend to listen to it eventually. Maybe after a few months to get the cover out of your mind and listen to Faouzia with fresh ears.
I really like Faouzia, her voice is spectacular. But, I agree with some of the others. You didn't choose one of her better ones. This one does not showcase her vocal ability at all. I agree that her stripped songs really showcase her more. I personally like "Born without a heart" and "Tears of Gold" This song is fun, but does not showcase how talented this young lady really is.
She is one of best in the world right now she can play violon piano etc.. very talented

She wrote this studying for an Engineering exam during her junior year at Univeristy of Manitoba. She hasnt quite broken into the mainstream. Her official releases are definitely pop versions. Her stripped versions, more dramatic, and usually piano based.
Try either “Bad Dreams” or “You Don’t Even Know Me”. Preferably the stripped piano versions, but the stripped concert versions will let you hear her voice too. Her dramatic, almost musical theater style, doesn’t suit everyone, but her voice is amazing. Will be interesting to see what direction she goes over the next 18 months. Planning for the release of her first album and maybe a tour.

Glad to see any Faouzia reactions! This is definitely not her normal style - I think she did this for fun/to appeal to a different audience. She is more typically a play the piano and belt out beautifully dramatic songs type of singer. She has perhaps the best voice of her generation...I'd start by listening to her sing Tears of Gold (Stripped) and then fall down the rabbit hole!
Definitely listen to her Born without a Heart Stripped version. Her vocals are great in that video. I think you'll enjoy more

This is the only happy or fun song of hers , but all of her other songs are dark/sad/emotional , and i think they suit her voice more , that besides her amazing and unique lyrics that make u relate to them , i think thats why in comment , someone told u its not the video to start with , although it shows her fun personality , it was kind of a change for her and she had fun doing it , but its not what her music theme is like , u will get it when u react to other songs , i hope to see more reactions of her from u
She writes her songs , she also does covers , u can check them out too if u like , some are on her channel, some on tiktok , some on other recording channels ( wich in one of them she recently did paparazzi cover )

To hear Faouzia at her best, I would recommend to watch all the acoustic performances from he concert from the Buron Cummings Theatre on her CZcams channel. To me her official videos of her studio performances are overproduced and much less impactful then her Stripped versions, with just the piano and her voice. Also I am a metal guy myself, but I still love the stripped versions of her songs, so if you decide to go that route, I would suggest for Mike to at least watch one of those, before giving up on Faouzia.

She has an excellent voice and a lot of great songs,but I really don’t enjoy these poppy ones, Her stripped down acoustic songs are amazing
