Thanks Carol, so pleased you liked it. Hope it is not looking too dated by now. I have had one in the can for Oswestry for years and never got around to filming it! I do love Shrewsbury though!

Thanks Gemma! So pleased you all enjoyed it! You might enjoy the Church Stretton one I have done if you have not seen it and I am still working on one for Oswestry that is much more interesting than one would think!

Excellent video, by far the best about Shrewsbury on CZcams, and I have seen many. Really appreciated all the interesting facts, quirky indeed - would have happily watched more. Shrewsbury is a very beautiful town and most other videos do not get that across.

Thanks for that Vic. I had great fun making it and unlike some videos that people make about towns I am lucky to know Shrewsbury (however I pronounce it!) well. I have the script for Oswestry written but have not got round to making that one. Another place that is actually more interesting than it seems! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. BTW you might like to see the ones I have done on London and one on Church Stretton and Telford too if you haven't yet.

Pleasure - glad you found it and enjoyed it. I have been meaning to do some other towns but lockdown has stopped play! You might enjoy my one on Church Stretton and also my Telford ABC too. I have been meaning to film Oswestry for a long time as there is so much 'hidden' stuff there! Thanks for your comment.

Excellent video Anthony , very interesting. I'm a Shropshire lad born and bred. Have lived in Whitchurch for 40 years and have always loved Shrewsbury. I support Shrewsbury town and have always thought how lucky I am to live in a county as lovely as ours is. My wife comes from County Wexford in Ireland and loves history and is fascinated by Shrewsbury. We love going there on the train for a meal and drink at the armoury near the theatre by the Welsh bridge. Highly recommended indeed !!! Thanks again for a lovely insight into our beautiful county town. Best wishes, Cuzz, Whitchurch.

Neil, thanks for your kind comment and glad you liked it. When restrictions lift I am sure Shrewsbury will get back to its vibrant self again. You mention the trains - of course both Gobowen and Shrewsbury stations are outstanding examples of their respective architectural types but that is another story! Have you seen my Church Stretton film or my Telford ABC? Still need to do my Oswestry one - so much to see there that is normally missed! Best wishes, Anthony

No one was killed in the gas explosion as you mentioned there were 12 injured of which some seriously

Thank you for that - what a terrible state of affairs. I hope the recovery has been rapid after this shocking event.

Glad you enjoyed the film. Sorry to hear about your experiences. Before lockdown we went to lots of small shops and cafes and found the people we met wonderful. It is a very pretty town and I had lots of fun researching and making the film.

I am told it depends which side of the river you are on Anthony! Vicky Pipe in her All the Stations videos called it Shraaaawsbury!

    Shrew Shrew Shrew. Not Shrow

Thanks Trisha - I am sure you and others are right! Finding a primary source there has been difficult but even Shrewsbury School's youth centre in Liverpool is called the Shrewsy rather than the Shrowsy! I guess it is like the city of Bath or is it Baaath! Hope it did not destroy your enjoyment of the film. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
