  • In this video I try a new way to change the oil. I also install new tires and flush brake fluid.

I use ordinary aluminum window screen. A piece about 8" wide and maybe 40" long rolled fluffy like a pillow shape maybe 5-6 layers of screen about 3" thick and set it in the drain pan - it doesn't matter if the oil is hot when you drain it because the screen makes the oil not splash. I use this method on my Toyota Tacoma all the time because the oil used to splash as soon as it hit the drain pan - problem was solved. I remember when I used to machine parts on a large horizontal boring mill and would use the shavings to keep the flood coolant from splashing all over the place. the shavings would cause the flood coolant to drain nicely without splashing. ///// I don't know if it would work but maybe a shop vac dedicated for only oil could be used to suck the oil from the filter area to keep it from running all over the place when the oil filter is removed.

Or you could just buy the UPR drain plug which works great. Your still going to make a mess getting the filter off.

For the oil filter just pop a hole in the bottom of it and let it drain

You're the second person to say that. I will be trying that, makes sense.

I did ceramic pads on the front. For $80 it was the best money I have spent. Wheels stay clean.

Not great for track use, but yes, much less brake dust.

I hate you Ford as well. I've done 2 oil changes and need to do a third. Next time I'm going to try drilling or popping a hole in the end. Maybe?
