Ikari Doug why would u want to mod it before u Evan get it ur like one of those kids that want to be different to everyone else it's a waste of time it's a drone enjoy it for what it is and any mod makes the warranty void don't be a fool just enjoy ur bebop 2
for all this work I feel like you had the skills to just make your own better bebop 2. I can't imagine most folks would even try this to get a few more minutes of flight time.. i love the work though!

This is way complex for the average non-electrical hobbyist...I wish Parrot would do two things: 1) Make a wall charger that works and 2) A battery that works with the charger. Thanks for your Matrix level (way too in depth) and not for the average Joe fix. Happy droning!!!

Have you ever thought about modifying for portability & packability, so it is better suited to bring along travels? Even though I don't have the technical skills that you have, I thought about making the legs foldable and such. I'd love to hear your input on that!

Impressive work well done. I am bit surprised with the very poor quality of some components of the bebop and controller, and yet the tech side is sophisticated and clever. electronics. The FF Pro software works, but needs to be more reliable. I have not tried a Mavic, but people never seem to find faults with it ? I get the feeling that Parrot started out with a great team of enthusiastic and talented engineers and then it all became about making profits and cutting corners etc.

this is my next drone. but those mods look bad ass. I would do the battery mod. but I am not smart enough to do the rest. I'd rather pay someone to do it for me
I believe my drone is locked. Can anyone help with this on fw 2.057
I get the buzy b0x in telnet but none of the commands work. Connected via wireless in bebop1 I also connect via 192.168.42.1 and not the 192.168.1.1
+solaris8x86 no my drone is OK. when I say lock I mean code in fw. that's making batteries only use 50 percent of battery capacity. I found threads that talk about this. so I order 3000mah battery and it dies just as fast as stock or faster because of weight/wind. when I test on lipo charger it says its still 57 percent life left down to 47. and the power is there. I plug it back into bebop and sees it like its a refreshed battery and 50 percent full. I am then able to fly again and it has not been charged since bebop said it was last at 10 percent. I also see in another video something about bebop charging circuit garbage. I just want max battery fly time nice range and no disconnects.

Thumbs up for your creativity and ingenuity. BeBop still a toy really though. No good in any kind of wind. I never looked back to my AR's after I built a quad. Great job though and info for other BeBops owners!
+Pat B I cant agree on the wind comment though. I hate a lot of things about the bebop 2, but its ability to fly in wind is downright impressive.
Thanks, the BeBop has a ton of cool electronics inside and the AR Drone got me hooked lol. It's far better in the wind the the V2 for sure.
I also disagree on wind handling. Have had Bebop 2 up in 20 mph with no issues. Try that with Mavic.

Pat B the mavic is a toy just like the bebop 2 is it just cost a little more. just like my phantom 4 is a toy and my yuneec typhoon 4k is a toy . they're all toys just depends on how much you are willing to spend.

I have an another one if you don't mind (too much) : To get from 2T2R down to 1T1R (6:14), does telneting bcmwl rxchain 1
bcmwl txchain 1 is enough, or does "alterning firmware" involves something else (when you are only looking for a ubec+signal booster+antenna upgrade (no a battery upgrade or routermod scenario))

what wifi booster did you mount on the bebop? That small flat rectangular box? Can you give some more details? Link?
what method did you use to embed the aluminum in the carbon fiber? and I'm guessing you made a custom booster casing which is why you needed the heatsink?

Awesome job! I've read through the comments here and from the other video. While I'm dreaming about doing something like that, I guess I'll need to learn on my own and take risk. Unfortunately, I have only little IT background and haven't ever used a soldering iron.
However, I try to gather up information to attempt something easier on my 15 days old BB2, which I should had thought twice before purchasing indeed :'( . I was thinking adding an on-board 2,4 Ghz signaI booster, a 5V UBEC to power it up, and a custom-made clover leaf antenna. Stick with my SC1 and my 2.4 Ghz Skybooster for now (noob I know) and leaving router mod for later. My goal would be able to establish a solid 1km link. I'd be super happy with that already.
A couple of questions though : is it possible to make an 2,4 Ghz AirBlade antenna, for the BeBop2, instead of an 5 Ghz, that both receives and transmits? As is, BB2 has two antennas. What are they for? Is there something like one 2.4 and another 5.8, one TX and one RX ?

Hi, you seem to know a lot about the bebop, so thought its worth asking you a question. I have a bebop v1 and the quad won't power on anymore... I plugged in a usb cable to connect it with my pc... however it installed the drivers and seconds later it turned off... what i noticed was that the usb cable was damaged and the wires on the cable were shorting.. causing the drone to die on me... i tried other batteries and other usb cables yet still.. nothing worked... looking at the board everything looks to be ok.. with no burn marks etc... any idea what i should look for in this event to fix the problem... where do you reckon on the mainboard the problem lies.. would the voltage have burned out the data lines of the usb input on the board.. or would the + and - have got the problem... any help would be appreciated... I am capable of soldering and removing chips.. but just dont know how to trace the tracks as to where the problem could or would lie.. many thanks

Hello! I broke the back button. did you by any chance mapped the flex connector as to be able to short two or three connectors and turno on the drone .. a 0.5 dollar button is making me buy a 250 dollar part!

Hello how are friends I would like to help me I have a problem with the charger and good battery that I think when the battery takes about 30 minutes charging begins to blink red light and no longer charge more only if disconnected for a while the battery tried Again if the charge reaches 100% only if I remove the battery and reconnect it again I get the red light and it never reaches 100% the battery I would like help

Bro do you have any idea why my bebop2 wont power on??...no crashes...batteries are good.

@@solaris8x86 I have flown the same battery and batteries for 35 flights before this happened and there is no swelling and the cells are balanced and they are Parrot brand batteries.
I always land at 20% and I know how touchy lipos can be.
I have 10+ years experience with drones and 30+ with all things RC...there are more advanced drones on the market but this is the most advanced I have had and I'm positive it could be easily fixed but I have zero experience with fixing a Parrot drone.
I can diagnose most mechanical issues and even build and program race drones but this is an entirely different bird.

Other then a little bit more powerful battery and some weight trimming It's not clear what the benefits are?
This would be a more helpful video if you didn't assume we know the tech-knowledge and the tech-terms you obviously know.
A little more expansive explanation with less technical terms or explanation of what the "jargon" means would be very helpful. You come to the end of the video with a stagnant shot of the drone on a table, but no comparison made of the advantages of the "Mod" Behop 2 to the orginal Bebop 2 ??

jpthsd the bebop 2 is $499 with skycontroller and fpv the mavic starts at $999 that's a huge price difference ' for what it's worth the bebop 2 is a very fun drone to fly around. I haven't had any issues yet with it . no its not my phantom 4 but it's a hell of a lot more fun to play with : )
