We were there years ago when it was Boyd's Bear Barn. I collect Boyd's Bears. Beautiful place. So glad they are reusing it. Had to take pictures of pawprints inthe parking lot.
Wish we would have seen it then. Never went in Boyds Bears. The Paw Prints I hope they leave in parking lot but they might blacktop over them. They have several hidden things left over from Boyds if you look close😎😎

Love The Farmhouse!!! Beautiful renovation! The Farmhouse resteraunt buffet looks so nice! Like Bobbie's plate! Fried chicken, squash casserole looks awesome!, corn, my favorite broccoli pasta. John's plate New england clam chowder fried cod, cod grilled pork chop, little shrimp Mac n cheese looks so good! Bobbie second plate all the salads look good chicken noodle soup good for te fall and winter 4-bean salad YUM.ove garlic bread. John's plate spaghetti and meatballs, potato salad, catfish, pasta salad all good to me!!! 2 of my favorite desserts Bobbie. John's desserts brownie, macadamia nut cookie, love pumpkin pie. Love the Farmhouse. Outdoor concerts in the summer will really bring in crowds.

My wife and I really enjoyed your visit to old boyds bears barn, back in the day we spent alot of money in their. We ate there plus they served ice cream in their. That place is so huge, we are glad so see what they have done with it. My wife is a collector of boyd's bears 🐻. Since we seen your Commentary, we are going their to eat, we love what you both do. Wow! I remember that place! Boyd's Bears. My husband did the original landscape which include a box wood bear paw. They painted over the barn side mural and it was a really nice place especially around Christmas. You could build your own bear. Then the economy took a tank and no one could afford the very expensive bears and other novelties. They always had food in the lowest level. Happy that the building will be used again!

It's so good to see the Boyds Bears barn come alive again. I had been there more times than I can remember when it was Boyds barn. It's a shame you never saw it in its hay day as Boyds. Bear collectors filled all that space. It's great to hear all the food was so good. They've done a wonderful job on the barn.

definitely a beautiful restaurant . . the lunch buffet was reasonably priced w/all the variety of food . . never been a "modern" decor kinda girl however I really love how they incorporated a lot of "old" barn/farm pieces blended so well . . I would love to see this place in the fall/winter. . tfs

I don't know one person that likes green beans out of the can😂😂😂 I like my green beans fresh and perfectly cooked and sauteed with maybe a little garlic, and cooked all the way through. I do not want them crunchy😂 I was in the food business when I was younger for over 30 years before I became a business owner and believe me almost nobody wants green beans or any vegetable out of a can. 🤔
My dad likes them out of the can but he grew up in a working class family of 8. He still eats them but he does grow his own too. Nothing like having them fresh off the vine!
However, having canned at a restaurant is disappointing. Especially when sides are 3-6$ for a small portion of canned green beans.
I eat them cold straight out of the can 😳🤷🏻♀️
@@mellenneum I grew up in a large family in the 1960s and 70s and my mother always made fresh vegetables and also frozen vegetables but no vegetables out of a can. Then I was in the food business for about three decades and we never served canned vegetables. Canned vegetables and instant mashed potatoes was taboo period, of course these were fine dining restaurants where quality was important. When I go out to eat in a restaurant I make sure that I'm getting fresh vegetables. We also grow many of our own vegetables.
@@jeffhampton2767 Fresh is best! Some people are just happy to get what they can (even if its in a can). Thankfully my family thinks instant mashed potatoes are taboo as well! But if I am at a restaurant, veggies should be fresh. Prices of food are up and many people have to cut corners. It‘s nice to see places like this that provide quality options! Living right over the line in Maryland, I've heard about the reno of the Boyd's barn. Thank you so much for letting us know it's having a soft opening. The prices were great considering all the options, sounds like it was delish. I stay far away from Gburg during tourist season, but this sounds perfect for a Fall and Winter treat trip😊

Wow, it looks like they have a little something for everyone. I'd be all over that salad bar, and maybe some fried chicken to go along side of the salad. I can't resist that kind of salad presentation. Now the perfect side for that salad bar for me would be a good baked potato, yum. I'll admit all of the desserts you chose looked yummy, but I'm a sucker for pumpkin and apple pie, so I'd probably have to have a little bit of each. It looks like it's going to be a beautiful place when it's all finished, and the buffet will most likely be a star of the show. Thanks for taking us long for the soft opening.

My friends son purchased this property. I'm so glad the property is no longer vacant. It's absolutely beautiful I wish them much success. I live in Gettysburg and I will be visiting there often.

I remember going to The Boyd’s Factory Barn many many times.
The parking lot was full of vehicles and tour buses.
My little girl adopted a baby bear at the nursery. She chose the one she wanted, named it and adoption paper.
She was a very happy mama bear.
We are happy that the barn is no longer closed. It was and is a beautiful structure.
The entrance, I can definitely remember but the rest of the building is completely renovated.
I hope this new establishment will succeed.
It’s is very huge and wondering how packed it will get.

Green beans in a can are good if you season with garlic and season salt and fry in a little grease my grandkids will eat them like this

We were last summer and they were still remodeling and it was under a different name at the time.The BBQ was very good.I hope you both get the chance to try the food very good.We can't wait to come back this summer 😋

The food looks delicious. We used to go to Boyds Bears many times when they were open. Bought many bear items there. Camped in Gettysburg several times each year when we were younger. How i miss those days. Im glad you shared this with us. We have also been to the one in Pigeon Forge also. Im sorry they all closed.

What good luck that the place wasn't busy; that you had time for a good look-over, then go back and make your plate. That is quite a buffet! The clam chowder I would try, despite not liking (at all) my first taste of it. Theirs looks good.
