haha i remember seeing kyle at a clinic a went to a while back and the first thing he said to us was "if you're not cheating on a faceoff, you're not doing it right". That quote has always stuck with me, mainly b/c of how true it is.
the jam has always been my primary move in Varsity it works 90/100 times, and 100 out of 100 in JV. I play both, 2nd line for V, starting faceoff/captain for JV.
i do the clamp all the time but it works better for me at least if you clamp his head with your head in stead of you shaft and you can also get his hands to if you do it right
yes im lefty too and it doesnt take that hard to get used to face of righty. though what i find myself doing in a game is winning it with my right then quickly switching to my left hand to pick the ball up
@Lax4LifeOrDie be really quick with your off hand to punch it down, or just pop it up to you so you can 'catch' it instead of scooping it so the mesh gets pushed down. or just try out soft mesh or what the Syracuse faceoff guy uses is a custom traditional
This is my first year and i've got really strong legs and above average coordination. The only problem is that I'm lefty and I've heard from other vids that it's illeagal to face off lefty, IS THAT TRUE????????
