If you pay attention to the game you can see that Kris' actions are from the player, but their reactions are their own. In Chapter 2 you can see Noelle say that Kris seems exited when finding moss... Meaning that Kris actually likes to eat moss.

Honestly the small comics where the player is like a disconnected ghost from Kris kinda like how chara is with frisk are my favorite ones. They’re a perfect amount of comedy while also having a cool idea. (Ex: 12:22 and 13:17)
