i know it was on that album josh and mark lanegan had been friends well before then as josh homme played the gat for a while for the screaming trees!!! (laneganns band)which were well b4 qotsa! im telling you when this song was written josh wanted lanegan to sing but he could not because of complications with his record company! anyways enjoy the queens dude they fuckn rock!!!!! saw them on sat night amazing!! and flying over to sydney next sat to see them again!!
This was on the original self-titled album, way before Mark became involved with QOTSA. I prefer Josh's version, it suits him better. Mark was at his peak on Rated R. And yes, QOTSA do rock the arse off anyone else :D I've seen them 3 times live, I would see them a lot more if they toured the UK more often, they're fantastic live.
I heard Mark was originally was going to sing on the studio version of this on the debut album. That would’ve been awesome. Josh sounds awesome on the studio version also though. One of my favorites off that album.
Please, people, thumbs up for @HawkwindMaster, he make the most joyful commentary to this video, that made me to write this comment. THUMBS UP FOR HIM.
+Taylor Northern Looks like a BOSS delay pedal. Probably just a really short delay time and a long feedback. You should be able to do something similar with just about any delay
Anybody know what effects pedal they are using on the steel guitar? The design looks like a Boss pedal, and I'm thinking probably the Dynamic Wah. Not sure though
Wow it's just as funny the 1000th time you hear that joke. HA... Ha.... Good one guys. Very clever.... You can really tell a lot of thought went into it
I love that Lanegan stays there till the end even though he has no vocals for the last portion of the song. Man kicks fucking ass.
*Qotsa is jammin*
Mark: "What the hell do i have to do right now?"
What a live song. Better than studio version. Love Qotsa. It's in my favourite bands.
Lanegan's voice is beastly and harrowing on this track
RIP MARK. Now you can walk those sidewalks forever.
Jesus, I've been a fan for years and this is the first time I've heard this live
Oh my fucking god
I want that tone SO BAD.
Mark is holding this stage and everything flying around the universe tightly in place with that mike stand.
A lot harder than it looks!!!
I love how Mark Lanegan sings =)
If I drink and vape a bunch, I can sound like that.
the sound of Ovation GP is just amazing
Mark's voice is awesome. He should be in the next QOTSA's album
Fantastic version of this song. QOTSA forever!!!!
Mark fucking Lanegan!!!!!!!!!!!
this is the real band , nice song.
To be fair, Mark Lanegan's voice is the business
this performance is still ahead of its time
This was probably the peak of will ferrels career
The best voice on the earth
Mark is a bad ass......
Mark, you fucking legend!
Words are weightless here on earth… because they’re free. #ripmarklanegan
RIP Mark
I love how they play the song after song for the deaf
kick ass
Wow, fucking awesome solo. And the crowd just gives a polite applause.
Best 240p video on the fkin internet
RIP Mark.
Holy shit, this version is awesome, lucky crowd

rip Mark Lanegan
Dope.
Hell yeah . forever. Love
Down and dirty. Fucking awesome.
Trautmann, Lanegan, Oliveri, Homme, and McNichol. What a fun line up.
McNichol was shit, Trautmann was good but he's no Dave Grohl
true... and joshs voice makes it sound much more spacey... love both...
best version!!!

But you've got to admit this is a pretty bad ass version.
Everything about this video was amazing. I had no clue that the song was going to go in the direction it went in.
God I get a good laugh when I see Mark with that short hair.
Its only hair man. Hair dont mean shit.
@@CirclingtheFringes Yesterday don’t mean shit

Holy crap i stumbled onto my own comment😂
qotsa from my favorite era pre vulgaris. Somehow i never heard this before now.
The absolute pinncal of QOTSA greatness.
This version is sublime.
that blows the album version out of the water
This is oone of their best songs EVER. Great mix too...for a live show. QOTSA rule
Thanks for this, amazing.
💕💕 love love Josh so much
thank you! so loud and abrasive as well
Man this sounds awesome.
I heard Mark was originally was going to sing on the studio version of this on the debut album. That would’ve been awesome. Josh sounds awesome on the studio version also though. One of my favorites off that album.
The guitar sounds like it's on fire.
Rock and roll died after this record.
ty for that name i never new this guys name and while i love this guys contribution troy is still a great addition.
So much better than the performance in 98
@djalex8080 No Mark Lannegan just does some guest singing for them. Josh Homme has always been lead since the Kyuss/QOTSA split.
Exactly. It needs something tough!
omg my thoughts exactly.
in that haircut, i went wtf rofl
God i wish to be able to play guitarr like Josh one day...
Can you do it now?
@@miguelmendoza3403 i doubt that they even remember they watched this video
❤
Geez no wonder Brendan didn't last. I mean he's not bad but I mean he's no Troy.
he was terrible
I was just thinking this.
Please, people, thumbs up for @HawkwindMaster, he make the most joyful commentary to this video, that made me to write this comment. THUMBS UP FOR HIM.
Josh needs to get his friends back.
I'd be awesome to see Mark, Nick, Dave, Troy and Josh together again and if Dave can't make it, there's Gene.
dude on pedal steel is killin it, i love the sound fx. who is that? what kind of delay is he using?
+Taylor Northern Looks like a BOSS delay pedal. Probably just a really short delay time and a long feedback. You should be able to do something similar with just about any delay
What's the pedal steel player's name?
+Taylor Northern Not sure. Could be Brendon McNichol ?
Your right, its Brendon. His other lap steel preformances were... lack luster...
yep, he was terrible
true true
RISE AND TAKE YOUR OATH! FUCKING DO IT!
I guess josh sometimes 'd like to have the Lanegan voice...
true
I think so too by the way!
:O :O :O :O :O SICK!
Mark Langan? i posted this a while ago before I listened to QOTSA like i do now but still you got to admit he does
Thanx Dmitrii1399 from helterskelter1178 (Dave)
LONG LIVE THE QUEENS!
God damn can Josh ever play that guitar
At this point Marks voice was the strongest. Around Bubblegum.
hey qotsa come to Colombia
it's funny that drum... move it move it hahaha
paul leary effect, sweeet
Anybody know what effects pedal they are using on the steel guitar? The design looks like a Boss pedal, and I'm thinking probably the Dynamic Wah. Not sure though
2:06
@WHareRabbit Yeah i figured that out not that long ago. Y did he quit?
Dudeman needs to stay away from that SG and just stick with the lapsteel. Other than that, best version I've heard yet.
the sound of his guitar in the chorus is horrendous
Now that's just freakin sexy, no? YAR!
Taqueopareo....
is the bizarre festival held in germany
@waffles032 Troy Van Leeuwen is in a perfect circle. I'd say that's pretty decent.
those three make me want to be ginger!
Very, right taaffeman121?
Didn't know Will Ferrell was once a member of QOTSA.
Indeed. I didn't know Will could sing like that.
Wow it's just as funny the 1000th time you hear that joke. HA... Ha.... Good one guys. Very clever.... You can really tell a lot of thought went into it
No brainer =D
1 person walks on the road.
he did man these comments r fuckin old
who is on drums?
Gene Trautman
Mark looks just like Will Ferrel
Hard to get a good look at him, but I'm thinking that it is Gene Trautman. A flabby Gene, I might add.
I think it's a delay, I'm sure it's a delay
@evilways456 that singer???? Sorry but if you dont know who that is then you should not be here ...WTF??!!!??!
It needs more cowbell
I got a fever
You obviously haven't seen this version : /watch?v=kHOJOpbZHio
So when QotSA first started Josh wasnt the singer?
@miyozden Everything Lanegan sings is better.
