    Question for you both: We are moving to Alabama where the forestry service charges hundreds or thousands of dollars to control bb urn your property. In Florida where we currently reside, the burning fee is almost free. Can I use a bush hog and mow strips to encourage new growth instead of the costly burning technique? I read an article many years ago calling this the poor man’s food plot. In lieu of costly planting food plots and/or burning.

    Come back in fall when all is down and it looks the same as closed canopy . Plant pine trees every 10 feet . In 4 years they will be at deer sight lines and create real cover . Plant clover in between pine trees .
