In Florida where we currently reside, the burning fee is almost free. Can I use a bush hog and mow strips to encourage new growth instead of the costly burning technique? I read an article many years ago calling this the poor man’s food plot. In lieu of costly planting food plots and/or burning.
Come back in fall when all is down and it looks the same as closed canopy . Plant pine trees every 10 feet . In 4 years they will be at deer sight lines and create real cover . Plant clover in between pine trees .
