I love that at first he’s just portrayed as an arrogant teenager, but with the episode where he tries to bring down the satellite, it’s shown that he is pretty fuckin smart, but still generally a nuisance.

Bye bye magic silk worm" with a somewhat innocent expression and in awe of the silk worm. He could have had a nasty reaction but didn't and expressed his joy of seeing another go off into a better world. His expression tells that he is happy for the silk worm but then his aunt goes on about her power and his expression changes. Now his mind is on how to help and please his aunt whether because she is family or fears her powers . Di Lung is a smart dude, hes proven this multiple times from his inventions and schemes. Hes just a misguided kid in a tough position.
