- Lauterbrunnen is perhaps the most beautiful village in Switzerland.
Located in the swiss Alps valley, it is also known as the waterfalls village as it has 72 waterfalls that look absolutely gorgeous.
This video was shot during summer time (August 2019) and I was lucky as the weather was at its best (for video shooting).

Farming sounds so romantic, but being a farmer is work from early morning and into the evening, you can barely take a holiday because you have to take care of the farm etc. I know being a farmer sounds romantic, but it's tough work...

In 2013, my late husband and I spent 14 beautiful days in Lauterbrunnen. God was smiling on the day He created this paradise on earth.

I've been there twice! It is like heaven. Simple living. The people don't accumulate unnecessary possessions. They spend time outdoors in all weather, eat simple, delicious food, and take care of their neighbors. A lesson for us all.

@@Bb-kc2jn Switzerland is very safe for solo travelers! Just take necessary precautions like having a phone on you, learning emergency numbers like the police or ambulance but Switzerland is a very safe country especially places like these.

It is truly gorgeous. For 3 years in a row before the pandemic, we went there in the summer. Walked all the way up the valley from Lauterbrunnen to the Trummelbach waterfall inside the mountain. So much to see and do in and around this beautiful valley. A piece of heaven on earth.

@Athi Rockz No chance when you're old only unless you have about CHF 200'000.00 as savings for eventual medical bills. Beside your money of at least CHF 60'000.00 for 12 months. Because you cannot immigrate to this country as a pensioner unless you're freaking rich. The reason is that health insurance is mandatory but these companies won't insure immigrants above 60-65. Also, the social service won't support such immigrants because they have not paid into the social system. This country runs on the basis of everybody who's working has to pay a percentage of his salary into this system for old age pension, beside the taxes. The money is deducted directly from the salary. No way around it, you never see it. So if you work in Switzerland and pay into the system, you have a right to receive an old age pension and health insurance from the state, the latter only if you can't afford it. But if you have never paid, you won't get anything. Meaning that the state (the people) have to pay your medical bills which can be 6 figures amounts. And that, they will not. Hence, when you want to immigrate in old age, you must be a millionaire, or your relatives who live there have to guarantee for you by freezing this high amount of money with the state in case you fall ill. This is the reason why they won't even allow old parents of foreigners come to live here if they have not enough money. I have seen it over and over again. I have worked for the foreign office.

My family and I stayed there a couple of years ago. There are simply no words to describe it. It really is as majestic as it appears. At the risk of looking silly I really did try to spend every possible moment just taking it all in, knowing how special it was to be there. I hope we make it back some day.

The first time I got there, I walked all over the valley in search of waterfalls. Then, tired, I asked a local where the waterfalls were and he pointed to the dripping water. Probably for most of us, waterfalls are something massive and powerful. But these small, gentle waterfalls certainly have their own charm and peculiarity. Cool video!
Didn't you visit the "Trümmelbachfälle"? (in this video from 8:30) They are half ways between Lauterbrunnen and Stechelberg (further inwards the valley ~2Km from Lauterbrunnen station) They are 10 Waterfalls inside the mountain (not visible from outside), with tunnels to reach them and see them up close. A small entrance fee is required and it has a historical incline lift up there, but they are beautiful and powerfull. could be they are closed in winther, would have to check that on the internet first. The worldfamous "Staubbach" near the trainstation is only big and impressive during runoff in the spring.
Ofcorse if "Waterfall" to you means things like Victoria falls or Iguaçu falls, then it's the wrong place to be :)
One of Europe's 3 largest waterfalls is the "Rheinfall", (~600m3/sec) in Schaffhausen, northern Switzerland.
