One more data point is that I did go to a local clinic that specialized in "Men's Health" and they did offer the LiSWT... the cost for a 6-week trial was around $2,500... by comparison they also offered Testosterone injection therapy - which I tried for 4 weeks (4 weekly injections) for a cost of $200 ($50 per injection). In the week following the first injection, I was "on the fence" whether I could notice any results, but I was told not to expect immediate results. The week following the 2nd injection seemed to produce an improved response to ED medications (I still used and was encouraged to continue using Viagra and Cialis), and it also seemed that I was able to have more orgasms with the normal amount of sexual encounters/opportunities (4 in one week, up from an average of 2 orgasms per week - I am 62 years old). The 3rd and 4th weeks seemed to be more like the 1st week, where I didn't seem to notice much difference (again about 2 orgasms each week, with the same respective accompanying amount of desire. I hope this is helpful! Thank you for your ongoing informative videos!

In July of 1991 I was diagnosed with stage 4 Non Hodgkins Lymphoma and had surgery and six and a half months of intensive chemo therapy. Celebrating nearly 12 years cancer free! However, I have had significant ED since the chemo. I took the 9 week shock wave therapy (don't know which one it was) with no benefit. I'm greatful that I'm still here but would like to get my sex life back. The clinic where I took my treatments seemed legit but in talking with other patients in the waiting room hardly anyone seemed satisfied with the program. I'm sure my problem is severe nerve damage from the chemo. I haven't tried the oral medications because I'm sensative to side effects. I'm 76 but going strong. It would be nice to be able to get frisky once in a while. Just sharing my results.

However, I was left with a legacy of poor erection capability and some issues differentiating between bladder and other urgency. It no longer troubles my wife, as she died from her melanoma four months ago, but I know it was a source of disappointment to her. The side effects of recent medications have increased my issue in the sexual function area, but I guess at 77 it is something with which I must now live.

Interesting. In 2005 I sold/leased the first ESWT device in Canada, to a prominent athletic physician in Toronto, for the treatment of plantar facietis. Up till then it had been used for the treatment of kidney stones. From what I learned from your video, the science hasn't advanced much in 18 years. Plantar facetious patients had to return every 6 months for more treatement, although they did experience some pain relief. Even then the explanation for relief was increased blood flow and an increase in platelets.lets hope the next 18 years produce more exact clinical evidence through well controlled studies.

So, what we need are studies to know which which type machine, which dosing, which setting, frequency of use, duration of treatment, etc. did the best and lower the price significantly ($50/treatment so more people can try it without insurance), the true efficacy rate, whether maintenance treatments are needed, and make it legal per informed decision (determined by patient). But you did bring up a good point that technology is changing and advancing more and more each year. Just trying to avoid the injections as that's the only thing I haven't done. I'm not a doctor, but my understanding is that the shock wave therapy works on the tissue of the penis. The presence or removal of the prostate would seem unrelated. The NIH, Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins and other fairly respectable online sources should discuss this.
On the injection... I hope you don't mean the widely advertised one for Peyrone's disease. That can cause irreversible damage, according to the manufacturer's own data sheets.
Finding a competent urologist means asking for a lot of referrals, and probably paying for a consult and exam (bring you records) with several before you find one that treats you as an adult. Shows up on time. And gives you more information than you knew to ask for. Good luck. It is possible, just not easy.

I think this would be present a problem with people that have suffered a heart attack and/or have a stint(s). Reduced blood flow is also caused by the calcification of the arteries and I would think that this type of treatment could cause some of the plaque to break free in the arteries which could then find it's way back to the heart possibly clogging up the the stint(s) and causing another heart attack.

If you have diabetes a balanced sugar level is so importent to a longterm result. Medicin kan only do so much. Diet and physical aktivities should always be included.
It's the same with atherosclerosis. Pilles will only bring an extenssion in time before an even bigger crash. The longterm effekt by ESWT alone is not glamoures. Sexual activities, physical activities , work load, relation with the partner, medicin and so on, have to be a part of the equation. If you seek af more longterm succesfull treatment.

Thanks for an excellent follow up to your first video on shockwave therapy. I've seen that a focussed wave home-use device is available, do you know anything about it? I suspect it's probably overpriced snake oil, but it would be great to get an expert opinion. Fortunately, I only have mild ED, but like many people, taking medications is bothersome. And then there's planning, not easy when I'm single. To be able to skip medications until the condition worsens would greatly reduce my anxiety if I should be able to meet someone. I'm in Australia BTW.

Thanks for this helpful video! Would you consider doing a video on the "Vertica" RF device for ED by OhhMed? It seems to be a new approach to ED treatment - using RF waves to stimulate collagen repair in the tunica albuginea. The creators seem to have done their own clinic study on it, and they've got positive customer testimonials on their website - but it would be good to get an independent view on whether these devices are worth spending money on (they cost £1500 here in the UK).

I've tried the generic ali baba and phoenix. Phoenix cheap plastic broke the 4th time just screwing it on slightly tight. Some electrical tape temp fixed it. Too dang loud if you live in an apartment and respect others. The generic was quieter, more powerful cheaper and can be used for other areas that actually benefit better I would assume. I think there is potential for effectiveness. However, there's a lot of variables to factor. Just my assessment; proper technique. Full contact with constant pressure moving but slower is better. Phoenix directions are so specific to go straight line back and forth at the exact time I feel it distracts you from focusing on delivering proper energy to be effective. Personally, I felt shorter back and forth motions along the shaft end to end was better. Similar to scratching a lotto ticket perhaps. Also semi erect or mostly erect felt like it would be better and makes sense scientificly. Like comparing knocking on a piece of hardwood oak vs. balsa wood. The oak is louder because the sound waves are able to move through and not dispersed and muffled like a lesser dense balsa for example. Only my thoughts to be sensible. I don't know the specifics but I am intuitive and fairly educated. Also it's difficult to say how much is enough for 1 treatment. If you have efficient technique the time allowed by the phoenix could be enough but I doubt most have good technique. Even professional psycisians could have flawed technical. To be good ,like anything else takes practice and time. Assessing technique and adjusting to ensure optimal effectiveness. The machine automatically locks up and if you didn't do it very well you're not going to get a chance for 36 hours and by then you're starting over from scratch again because minute difference was made and nothing to build on so to speak. Which i think is logical. You are working small and slow gradually affecting the cells and building them to regenerate stronger. Hard to say how much time per session or time between because there's many variables the will decide this. Human error, skills of ability, psychological, mechanical, power of device and form of wave created that is needed to hit the precise area. It's more less a crap shoot maybe compare it to say a shot in the dark or pin the tail on the donkey. Lol ok not perfect comparison but it would be better if we could see the cells as the treatments progress. Maybe translucent penises with cell structure that's color differentiated to easily see contrast. Make necessary adjustments and apply to area in need.... While It's absolutely feasible to be possible logically speaking. It's minutely unsure with many variables for possible failure of complete success. I suppose is one way to think of it perhaps... Has potential lacks practical.

If only the medical community would evaluate all prescription drugs with the same skepticism and concern for “safety & efficiency”! I guess when you take out the immediate & long-term earning potential of drugs as a motivational factor, we see a proportional disinterest in approving restorative treatments. Meanwhile it’s totally fine to FDA approve a drug or treatment so long as you tell the public of all the terrible side effects they may experience while taking them. I really struggle to understand the logic being used by those in possessions of “authority”.
