Tim Walz’s salary and lack of any greedy money grab makes him 100 percent genuine in my book no matter how much he has to strategise to rise in the political landscape.
Oh and of course tax the mega corporations and ultra wealthy individuals at 50% or more. Americans should not have to work more than one job to support a family. With higher wages, union representation, appropriate taxing, government sponsored health care, the working class should be able to live a comfortable life. A life that lends itself to having children and being able to spend time with and be involved with their children. They will have the time to enjoy their family. One of the saddest stories I heard during COVID was a working mother who due to the pandemic started working from home and when she received the last stimulus check from Biden (the controversial one), this mother said she finally had enough time and enough income to take her two elementary aged girls to the beach. Even though she had lived 20 minutes from the beach the entirety of her children’s lives, she was never able to take them to the beach because she lacked the time and the disposable income for such an indulgence. Her story is a perfect example of our government being only lip service that we as a society “value” the “family”. If we did value the family we would have policies to show it, like affordable and competent and trustworthy childcare, world class public education, if not Medicare for all at least Medicare for all children to include pre-natal care, permanent child tax credit, Constitutional amendment protecting Roe v Wade, and contraception, paid family leave for both mom’s and dad’s with government assistance to small businesses to cover the cost of the Family Leave Act. Unfortunately our government has not passed any of that legislation and the few things that have been passed are diluted.

The stress of it all can lead to divorce as well. Yep I can confirm this too. Why? One, I know him. Two, I know him in this way, He was my Teacher for Social Studies (best class ever) at Mankato West High School in Mankato, MN back in 1996/97 and we still do talk and when we both have the time to do so.
yes its surprising to hear that by 2019 Walz was not investing in stocks or real estate. However keep in mind he was a teacher and in the National Guard, probably with maxed pensions foe each which teachers and military fully deserve. Plus whatever formeelr Congresspeople get. The combined pension benefits are probably at least 100K per year, which is the equivalent of living off of 2.5M ( of the 4% rule) the rest of us would need in 401K or IRA investments. Yep I can confirm this too. Why? One, I know him. Two, I know him in this way, He was my Teacher for Social Studies (best class ever) at Mankato West High School in Mankato, MN back in 1996/97 and we still do talk and when we both have the time to do so.

yes its surprising to hear that by 2019 Walz was not investing in stocks or real estate. However keep in mind he was a teacher and in the National Guard, probably with maxed pensions foe each which teachers and military fully deserve. Plus whatever formeelr Congresspeople get. The combined pension benefits are probably at least 100K per year, which is the equivalent of living off of 2.5M ( of the 4% rule) the rest of us would need in 401K or IRA investments. His public service is commendable. He played the long game and I am sure it will pay off for him even with having no or small typical retirement fund.

There is a difference between Josh Shapiro and Tim Walz, to me, anyway. Josh Shapiro appeals to the intellect. He's clearly very smart and well-educated. Tim Walz is more folksie. Tim is the person one instinctively knows would be someone to have a barbecue with, and when one is down, one could confide in. It must have been a tough choice for Kamala Harris. As it turns out, she made a good one for the campaign she is running.
