Agreed. Nothing beats OG Dragon Ball. The Saiyan saga was great, the Frieza saga was a fitting conclusion to that arc. Everything kinda went down hill after that in terms of staying true to the core concept of the series. It went from martial arts to spamming ki blasts left and right.

I couldn’t imagine if akira toriyama tried to write a story like one piece. Everyone that was before the time skip would have been completely irrelevant and never spoken of again.
By the time the Buu saga started Akira just wanted to end Dragonball. It clearly showed. When he put in effort it showed too and Buu saga had waxing and waving amounts of showing it. Im glad he would never do a story like One piece because honestly, one piece feels dragged out.

@@Jon_Fury Ive been following One piece since the 4kids dubbed. And my interests never died down for it UNTIL the Timeskip. And my patience was gone after Dressrosa ended. I dont like the massive amounts of character dumps, all the running, separation of Straw hats, and most of all Luffys character has annoyed me since the timeskip. Power wise hes changed but his character? Its like the events before feel hollow and his recklessness used to be endearing but now it gets on my damn nerves.
@@UnifiedEntity well I’d say luffy on the next big arc changes IMO. After that arc he seems like he’s more serious and the arc after that one. He got a real sense of where he stands in the world.

Tien’s Cell moment was actually dope even if he didn’t do damage. It’s still impressive that he was able to hold Cell back for awhile considering Piccolo & the Saiyans were also getting washed and Tien(a mere human) was greatly outmatched
Dbz didn't get bad for Tien until the Buu saga. DBS is just jokes.
There lies one of the greatest problems of the Dragon Ball, which is establishing that Saiyans are way stronger than humans and humans have no way of competing. This could be and could have been solved by logical power scaling in which strict limits are set to power levels and also by emphasising the use of techniques, tactics, and strategy to overcome a physically more powerful opponent. Look at Tien, it was early that Tien is capable of learning at least the fundamentals of any technique just by witnessing it with his third eye and he's capable of transmutation (shape shifting) and replicating himself. But these capabilities were never much explored during Dragon Ball Z. Having gone to King Kai he could have learned the fundamentals of the Kaioken and gradually improved and refined on them to use it while being capable of coping and enduring its effects and then utilizing the Kaioken along with his shape shifting abilities, solar flash, and other techniques to be an extremely formidable fighter capable of competing with the Saiyans.
Dragon Ball is very popular. It can be rebooted and a new setting should be established in which a rational magic system with a great number of different categories of magic and limitations and severe consequences to use of particular techniques are made, so that power levels are not the defining feature of who is the better fighter. Someone can be physically the strongest, but that does not make him the fastest, the toughest, the most enduring, or capable of teleportation, astral projection, and conjuring of spells to summon demons, and also the best at classical elemental manipulation (use of various Earth, fire, air, and water techniques).

The cell saga had actual good power scaling in my opinion after that it was all over the place but tien was pretty strong not stronger then cell but the fact that he tried and wasn’t scared is what made it cool
@@i-sink-i I get what you're saying and I agree that the Humans should be way stronger than they are but I still think that Tien being stronger than base Goku would make no sense at all. Goku surpassed Tien when he was 15 and did not have any power up moves like the Kaioken or the Super Saiyan Transformation and he's only getting stronger and stronger as time goes on so like said I also think the humans should be way stronger than they are in the series and actual skill should be able to make up for a gap in pure strength but Base Goku falling behind Tien or Krillen would be a massive downgrade for Goku when he already surpassed them a long time ago.

But who would they have fought? I think too many characters died in the Saiyan Saga. Tien and Yamcha shouldve survived, we wouldve had an ALL OUT battle with the Ginyus with Gohan, Krillin, Tien, Yamcha...against the Ginyus.....UGH I dream of that match up on Namek. Beyond that, there wasnt anyone they couldve fought besides say fighting the Androids but they would get beaten. Cell? Either beaten, killed/absorbed or Cell escapes. Dragonball doesnt provide alot of hand me down henchmen.

@@denickart Spopovich, Pui pui and Yakon wouldnt even be so much as a warm up for them. Androids 1-15....well first off you got Android 8. You know how he compares to them in end of Dragonball/pre Z? You could get away with 13-15 but I 17 and 18 then Cell would come along anyway and it comes it would play out how it did today.
Henchmen just for them to fight isnt doing much for them. Them tackling real significant threats with high stakes would be better. Hence why I said the Ginyu force and trying to find and fight Imperfect Cell with risk of being absorbed/killed. The only thing I got is probably showing them put up a better fight against the Cell Juniors...cause Piccolo in the anime?!? Omg was he whooping their asses.

So not only Tien sucks, everyone sucks in comparison to the main cast, which is full of Saiyans. Unless I'm mistaken? Tien is still a dope character, weak comparatively, but he's still cool.
@@Nergal134 Yea most of the Z fighters are saiyans, but there's still strong non saiyans in the group. The Androids are strong af, especially 17. Then there's Buu who's strong af too. That being said Tien is still way more irrelevant than Krillin, Piccolo and even Roshi, which is just sad.
I was legitimately talking about this with a friend last week that Tien and to a different degree Piccolo have the most wasted potential in this story, both were powerhouses in their era but at least Piccolo did something later on, after stalling Cell Tien was forgotten by everyone. Damn.

There's nothing wrong with Gon as a character. Togashi did a great job portraying how a child behaves realistically; inherently curious and selfish; refuses to see things from other's perspective; always believes his "way" is the right way. I suppose some have issues how Gon turns from a sweet, innocent kid into a rash, borderline unbearable "brat".
