Tool isn't one of those bands that release songs that are instant gratification and all about the hook. Tool is more about the layers and definitely more of an acquired taste. So you don't like them, fine . But coming to a page concerning a band that you don't like and then commenting negatively on the OP @A.V.F's post, and how he/we feel that tool is more interesting that shred, accomplishes nothing more than pointing out the fact that you obviously have nothing better to do. So go listen to Paramore, and Ariana Grande since you like them enough to include them in your favorites playlist. You will not find us there hating them in the comments, we have better things to do.

'Just when I start counting it changes.'

My problem with the album is imo there's not one catchy hook by Maynard. But 7empest is the highlight of Adam Jones career... fantastic riffs throughout.

Don’t you dare point that at me is pretty catchy. Only downside is there’s no MJK scream in it. Dont you dare POINT THAT AT MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I kept waiting for that and it never happened. But its ok, I guess mjk cant do it anymore.

I'll probably look back on this comment n think I was such a dumb fuck. But that's how I feel so far. I'm sure like every Tool album it'll grow on me and eventually blow my mind.

The Descending climax ("sound the dread alarm" to "stay alive") is one of Maynard's best works. The ending from 7empest, Culling Voices and Invincible are other songs in which he shines.
