I’m not a Traxxas Fanboy. I have an ERevo, Maxx, Typhon, Kaiju and several no-name cars. The Traxxas cars have not broken once….not one issue. The Vortek broke, the Kaiju had a weird issue where the pin fell out of the axle and the Typhon was the only non-Traxxas car which has not had an issue.

    Curious about where the TSM and AVC settings were at during the drifting action? Rustler 4x4 VXL was my first modern RC and I still love it even though I've since added about 8 cars to my garage LOL.

  • @wallacengineering8096

    Its well-known with the Arrma 3S trucks that they don't have instant torque off the line. Even if you max out the punch setting on the factory ESC, it just can't deliver the amperage to flip itself over doing a wheelie. As you said though, its kind of a good thing. Also, best truck for beginners overall is the Arrma Big Rock 3S. Its cheaper price and warranty versus Traxxas makes it more affordable. The longer wheelbase and wider stance over the granite make it so easy to control, it doesn't roll over much, and being a taller truck versus the Vorteks it has the ground clearance you will want for off-road bashing and jumps. The Big Rock is simply the perfect starter RC all around, just start on 2S for the young ones and let them move up to 3S when you feel ready, and all you need is the bigger battery to make the upgrade.

  • @NepDouble07
    @NepDouble07 Před 3 lety +1

    I mean, the rustler should have more low end torque, it isn't geared as highed as the vorteks. Both look like they handle great though, it's nice to have a competitor to the rustler. And that delay might not be the punch, it might be cogging from the high gearing. I noticed that on a lot of the 3s arrmas, they gear them too high.

    Alright, we aren't new... have race rigs, crawlers, some just for fun stuff like a couple retro ReRe kits, and now a few onroad cars we just built... We've had a couple "bashers" over the years... started with a 2wd Stampede, and have a mini Revo around that we haven't driven for a bit...
    Question is... We've been looking for a "monster truck" , between AE Rival MT10, Granite 3S, and this Vorteks 3S, which do you suggest? Kinda leaning toward the Vorteks, especially if you think it would do "general offroading" as well as a Granite, and not suffer on rough terrain due to smaller tires and lower ride height...
    Is the Vorteks the way to go?

      @@gasolinediesel972 thats funny i have a 4s kraton and the diffs has been holding up. Its 2 years old i broke a few before i went to the alluminum mesh holder from hot racing since then never broke a diff. The clutch is not trash. Its nit beginner friendly like traxxas i will say that. The clutch works almost like a diff because it spins both ways. Your bassicly complaining about a 15$ diff. Its plastic yes but it holds up and if it ever fails its just 15$¯\_(ツ)_/¯. The driveshafts idk but paying 15$ every time it breaks. Mine almost broke every run. It starts to become expensive. Once its fine but every run was emptying my wallet. My rules for buying a rc is this. A bulletproof drivetrain i dont want to get diff failures or driveshafts failures. Thats why i got the exb of the 6s line i didnt want to get the RTR because of its known issues. My exb kraton has only broken one wing mount in his first year and recently the servo horn stripped. Idk man but i like my wallet
