- Atmospheric Crude Columns are one of the most important pieces of equipment in the petroleum refining industry.
Typically located after the Desalter and the Crude Furnace.
The Atmospheric Tower serves to distill the crude oil into several different cuts. These include naphtha, kerosene,
light diesel, heavy diesel and AGO.
In this lecture, we will construct, run, analyze and manipulate an Atmospheric Crude Column simulation.
We will begin by building a simple column and continue by adding side operations(Side Strippers and Pump Arounds) to the column.

LEARNING OUTCOMES;
Build and converge an Atmospheric Crude Column.
Use HYSYS to analyze and predict the behavior of a simulated column.
Add side operations to a column to improve operation and efficiency.
Add cut point specifications to increase side product quality and quantity.

Nice one knowledge is power
Very informative
Thanks a lot sir, it's really helpfull!!!
Thank you, this has been very useful. Could you also maybe provide the resources you've utilised in the description box?
Please do you have a video about vacuum distillation ?
Hello. How to reduce the amount of vapor at the top of the rectification column? The type of trays, their efficiency? I have a lot of top reflux in model the unisim program. I am asking for an answer and best regards.
Good morning, I would like to ask the following regarding the exercise described in this video. I am using hysys v14, when I run the simulation it does not converge when including the side stripper for the diesel. I have observed a difference in the performance of the products, especially with respect to gasoline and diesel. What could be the reason for the difference in performance theoretically calculated by hysys between its results and mine.
Thk you , I tried it but when I added the kerosene Pump around it didn’t converge
It was SOLVING ….
Very Nice Video.Would like to highlight small observation ,For Kerosene Pump Around Loop ,Draw off stage(Stage -8) & Return stage(Stage-9) is not in line with presentation data. You may cross check and update accordingly for consistency purpose. If the corrections are updated ,the Kero PA draw off temperature would increase to final value of 184.6 Degree C.
Thank you very much for this observation.
It was probably an oversight on my part.
Others should kindly take note of this.
Thank you very much Mr Sandeep
@@geniuscreed369 please may i get your E-mail address . thank you
Thanks a lot sir!
Sir, I saw you showing your Final year design project on LinkedIn. Could you please make a detailed tutorial on that as well?
I'll see what I can do.
But it might not be soon.
Thanks.
Genius Creed thanks sir
Bonjour
j'ai besoin de faire le schéma suivant : crude oil -heater -separature -Atm distillation unit-vacucm distillation unit - Cracker . can you help me ,
How can I contact you?
you can send us an email
your soft is very soft and hard to hear.
