- A new video format ive been wanting to try out for a long while now, where i start at the back of the grid for a 50 lap race around a teamsport track and see how far forward i can get, perhaps even a few wins here and there! this is fast paced, action packed and a crash!

Great video of a great race.
I didn’t know you were in stealth-mode behind me for your pass down the ramp. I was setting myself up for an overtake at the bottom of the ramp and wasn’t thinking defensively.
I was trying super hard for the whole race, especially after you got past me, to close the gap in the second half. At the end, I didn’t see the red flag but something in my sub-conscious must have been telling me that I missed it because everyone was stopped! So, I didn’t think it was fair for me to take the position like that!
Rematch at some point?

Aha yeah I can be sneaky, I figured something wasn't right cause of how easy I got by lol yeah was random cause it only flashed up for like 2 seconds but I just didn't notice it had gone back to green haha

Really good concept, thought of doing the same thing in a 50 lap race at Bristol to be honest. It definitely is a lot of fun cutting through the field! 🔥

Good drive Gav, a good concept to run with some vid's. It's amazing how it happens, 12 other karts on a good length track and there is always traffic, how can that happen (I've felt that pain many times) LOL.
Cheers dude, yeah that was once of the busiest I've seen that track and it wasn't even a full session lol it just got so well spread out I was always coming up against someone, makes it fun though, I tried this last to wherever before and with in 3 laps I was in 1st so the traffic and having people of a similar pace to me made this much more interesting and enjoyable

Really need to get a 50 race at Leicester booked at somepoint!! Got my membership there now and spent about 2 hours driving there yesterday!! 39.050 PB at 108kgs... Ill take!!

I’ve always disliked the concrete areas in teamsport tracks, I always loose a bit of time down there because of the lack of traction. This was very entertaining as always I am hoping to race in Leicester some time this year, looks like a great track especially with the banked corner !
Yeah Leicester is a good track, I really enjoy it, TBF the concrete here is pretty grippy compared to some of their other tracks
hi brother. when you dabbed the brake is it automatically go to your right or left? did you just counter the steering immediately?

How long does your GoPro battery last? Mine (old) wouldn't last a 50 lap I don't think. Would give up after about 40 minutes. Wonder whether I could hook up a USB power bank until I can get a better camera!?
Ah no worries man, yeah there will be more in the future, mine just about last a 50 lapper recording at 2.7k sometimes I drop it down to 1080 to get an extra 10 minutes or so out the battery, I wish they did like a longer life battery though

I've done a few Sunday morning races, and it's been dead - like 6, 7 karts! I like to start at the back, but withing a couple of laps I'm in the lead!!
Am at Sheffield Sunday morning for their 50 lapper on the full track, so far there's only 2 of us booked on
The time that they run them isn't the best for drawing big numbers
@@LearnToRace I agree, 8am on a Sunday, half 7 sign on for the non members, it's too early for everyone, then 10pm on a Wednesday night which is too late for everyone

Good drive buddy, cards on the table….I’ve never really been into indoor tracks but this definitely held my attention, have you thought about joining a championship? I’d be interested to see how you do.
I have but at the same time I'm just kinda wanting to do this for fun and not get overly competitive if you get me, I mean I'm 34 I'm past the point of trying to make a name for myself in competitive karting haha

Epic video as always mate! Where do you stick your gopro on your helmet? I want to record my races but don't know where best to stick it.
I believe Gav uses a chin mount but I think that an adhesive mount on the top of the helmet gives a better view of the track
@@JGKarting I thought it looked like it was the chin area. I've got a curved adhesive mount but I'm not sure whether to do chin, side or top 🤦🏻♂️
@@ollybell106 A curved mount works perfectly on the top of the helmet, thats what I use
Yeah chin mount for me, gives a decent 'pov' angle just blocks off the ventilation a bit haha, I also have an adhesive mount on the top too but very rarely use that

Just been up to Leicester saw a grey helmet man and number 44, but no 33 Max on the track. Did the Monday night social on track with most of the other members as fast as the Bikc members, faster than fast.
Yeah we have some mega quick guys at Leicester, the competition is very strong

That was a clean drive! No offence, but you raced only with p2 and that guy was not very smooth so he did not have a real chance. Racing could be so different when you have same level drivers on track and you may reasonably expect to cut 0.2- 0.4 secs per lap only
I would love to be able to make it to members events but due to my working hours I'd have to book a days holiday to be able to go so it's just not worth it for me
yep, your members' race video is a thrill!
Why don't you keep the gap during yellow flags I think that's how it should be.
Tbh I just slow down, I know they guys in front can't over take until it's green so I'm not too worried, I'll always keep the gap bigger than it was just so I don't get accused of cheating aha
