Thanks for showing some older women. At 74, I can’t always find makeup looks that can be considered “quiet luxury” and are flattering for women my age.
Hi Audrey, also thanks for showing a diversity of women with varying skin types and hair textures , styles and lengths! 💄❤️🇨🇦
I'm in your age group & have used Estee Lauder for years - a nice selection for different skin needs . Even using sunscreen daily , I appreciate the range of natural shades of E L 's Double Wear line to match my subtle seasonal changes of skin tone . Many natural choices of blush , lipstick , eye shadows etc. as Audrey has mentioned today . Also , the sales people have always been helpful & not focused on pushing unwanted / unneeded items . 🥰
I agree on depicting older women as part of these images, Jane. For me, the deficit in representation of older women extends to most quiet luxury fashion blogging - I appreciate a minimalist, polished overall aesthetic but blogger options by or featuring older with this stye women are almost nonexistent.
@@jennieclare6519 Well said ! Also share your style choices . Prefer classics w/ an accessory like a scarf , bag or piece of unique jewelry reflecting a trend but in a subtle way . While not a follower of celebrities , there are some older women , confident in who they are & what they wear , who reflect our styles so it's nice to get inspiration fr. them . Nice to have input from a special sales person at your favorite store , too , or ask for assistance fr. one who is dressed in a style you admire . 🥰
You are 74 years young I am 72 skin care is very important for me when the skin looks good any makeup will look luxury and nice
Refreshing to see older women represented with various shades of colour, diversity of hair & make up! Great job. Thank you Audrey for well balanced representation ❤
Thank you for showing women of different ages, that ist great!
I love this type of look: flawless but natural skin makeup and a touch of cheek color and lips. So flattering on all ages.
Thank you Audrey and especially adding older models into the mix. I love you style and love a quiet luxury look. This makeup makes so much sense to me. When I was a young woman, I never wore makeup but blush, lipstick and mascara and am finding that the older I am once again the less I need.
Beautiful! As I was watching the pictures of all these beautiful women, I couldn't also help but notice how the minimal makeup, beautiful hair styles, and jewelry work together to highlight the natural beauty. These details really make a difference 😊
Thank you Audrey for showcasing a more light and natural makeup routine. I recently retired and I’m traveling to places I taught my students about. I like to look put together without packing to many products. I recently traveled to Ireland and I saw a business with the name “Coyne” on the sign. 😊 ❤
Good point! Easy to travel if your makeup bag is small.
I so appreciate the diversity of examples shown here and especially that you included Dacey! She's been my go-to for beauty recommendations for years and I feel like she exudes this aesthetic perfectly. You both are some of my favorite people to watch ❤
Love this series, Audrey and I love the emphasis on natural looking makeup. It's refreshing. I'm starting to wear much less and embracing it all, haha. Much love, Jennifer xx
I love how inclusive your videos are, showing women of all ages and ethnicities. It means a lot to see that.
I love that you have also highlighted the beauty in older women. Great job!
Oh this is so me Audrey, I think so you too! In fact. So many of us with refined taste and a love of a polished classic look, thank you for great content as always! X
Great diversity of skin tones and shades here
Hi Audrey, I loved the video on quiet luxury makeup. I was wondering if you would share your shade of lip gloss or lip stick? Your make up always looks amazing!
Wow Audrey, look how your subscribers has grown. I've been here pretty much since the beginning and I'm so happy for you. This paired down makeup is one I really love. I never wore what I consider to be a lot of makeup but I did wear more than I do now. For traveling I made a condensed makeup kit and after using just that for 2 weeks in Europe I decided that if it's good enough for vacation, it's good enough for everyday so that's all I wear daily. Also, being more mature I think less is more.
Oh, this was so helpful with lots of great advice! I too, am glad there were recommendations that included older women in your video. Thank you for a very nice video!
Totally helpful. Thank you, Audrey!
This was such a calming and inspiring video, thankyou x
Thank you Audrey! !
Yes ! It did help !!! ❤
Your hair looks lovely, Audrey. I never wore a lot of makeup, probably because I am not good at applying it. Blush and mascara is basically all I wear. I find that putting foundation on my skin enhances my fine lines, so I stick to au natural.
In fact I do this looks too! Luv it 😊🤝👍
Love a serum foundation, concealer, rose blush , eyebrow, mascara , red lip .. and sometimes bronzer . I always get told I look fresh . It’s a light well out together look that’s easy to put together everyday. It’s part of my wardrobe now and I love it . X
Hi, I would love it if you made a video about your skincare routine (face and body)😊
Dacey cash is the rep for this type of makeup
Hi Audrey. I have olive skin that is similar to your skin tone and have such a hard time finding a good foundation shade match. Can you recommend me a shade/brand please?
Can you also do a series on accessories like jewellery, bags and shoes for quiet luxury aesthetics
Would love you to do another video like this, but please have some of us very fair skinned Nordic types in it. My issue is trying to tone down the redness in my cheeks without putting a ton of foundation on.
You are beautiful and perfect 🤩 I am new subscriber
IMHO, eyebrows are such an important part of framing your face. I am so glad I did not pluck mine to death in the ‘70’s. My mom is 92 and has full eyebrows still❤❤❤
Thanks for putting in older women for this make up look…When I was younger I wore lots of makeup and loved to play with makeup. Now it is better to look natural, and less is more.. I am 68 😊
Where's your belt from Audrey? It's beautiful :)
As we age we need to wear soft colors whether cool or warm. Dark or bright colors are harsh on aging skin. Keep it light.
Please consider looking at the brands linennaive, magiclinen, and Fox linen if you like those brands please give us a review
Sorry it’s linen Fox I wrote it backwards
I have light olive skin with a yellow over tone. I am having a really hard time finding a foundation that works. What do you you use?
I guess you are like me, I'm also curious if she answers your question. Personally I use a neutral fondation mixed with green concealer or just neutral fondation. Usually neutral fondation is almost match for me, when I use warm it's too orange and when I use cold it's too pink.
@@thana5372 I also mix in a green concealer, but would love to not have to do that 😊
Estée Lauder Double Wear is a beautiful foundation that comes in a ridiculous amount of shades. You might find a great match with this brand. 🙂
While I am not a fan of the origins of this, trend, I take it more like a back to 90s the classy/minimalist aesthetic side of style. When it comes to make up, I think a brand that expresses his very well is Merit. They are launching their new eye Shadow Solos tomorrow and I couldn’t be happier for products like this. The one thing I appreciate most about this make up aesthetic is the return to just a single wash of color on the eyes rather than three or four eyeshadow looks with a lot of detail work. This isn’t new, just popular again. We must be careful not to go overboard with these trends, though that are meant to be minimal and simple. I’m seeing a lot of over consumption still and it’s not helping in our current economy where just getting basics is becoming a stretch. Thank you for all of your imagery and the inclusivity of multiple ethnicities and environments.
I'm a redhead and have had serious health issues that really affect my ability to wear make up. I cannot wear bronzer or even blush as it tends to make me look "sick". I'm trying to find a very organic, clean line of make up that has softer tones for those of us who are either older or unwell (or both) and still want to look, dare I say, human? I realize many a redhead gives up on many lines as the tones leave us with an "orange" hue. Definitely not a good look! Thank you, Audrey, for your usual, elegant and confident approach to style!
Hi! Have you tried tinted lip balm OR multi-purpose sticks/creme pots (Nars, Ilia, Elf, Honest Beauty, Neutrogena, Milk, Flower Beauty) as blush? Or mixing Aquaphor/Vaseline/your favorite serum or primer with traditional (bullet) lipstick and applying to your cheeks? It gives a beautiful "dewy" sheen without sparkles, whiteness, orange-cast, powdery residue, and all of those other things some contour, highlights, and blushes can leave behind. There's got to be a clean line among these that will suit your needs.
@@irairod5160 Thank you! I'll check all of this out!
you should check out Hanna Louise Poston for makeup color recommendations
@@oruga9737 Thank you! I'll do that.
Basically if you have a good look, you're quiet luxury. Just moisturize.
Would like to mention that "timeless" also may mean going with your natural hair texture and/or color.
Can you do hairstyles for soft gamines who want to keep their long hair?
One question I have about quiet luxury is are you actually buying expensive items (i.e makeup, accessories, clothes, shoes, etc.) or are you buying things on a budget that just look expensive and put together to give off the appearance of quiet luxury? Can someone answer this?
You can do it however works best for you! I personally splurge on shoes and jewelry because I'm minimal with how many pieces I need and they just last a lot longer. Clothes are a mix and mostly just looking for more quality fabrics in general when I do buy something. Makeup and skincare I get at target lol... apart from my foundation which is pricier because I do notice a big quality difference there.
So many naturally gorgeous girls in your video….
I appreciate that speaking about makeup you don't mention highlighter for a fresh looking skin, because it always looks fake under sunlight but also on pictures. But on many of these pictures in the video they have too much of it, particulary on the nose. I think it's not a good idea. Just looks exagerated and fake.
Lots of beautiful dark haired, brown eyed ladies with darker complexions but not much content for us blonde haired, blue eyed Scandinavians………
I really enjoy your content, but I'm not sure you realize that a lot of people find "quiet luxury" discriminatory, if not actually a racist view of fashion?
Counting down to when this trend is out of my feed.
Hope you all find peace outside the violent classism of aesthetics.
There is no classism unless you are looking for one! Stop this mind control thinking, or it will not serve you well. I grew up in communism, under soviet union, what do you know of any isms? ! Its not classism, its that vert small group, less than 1% want to destroy us all. Trends, its not where is the problem, . Its just marketing to sell. Its nothing but classic style, but in order to make more appealing, they pushed as a trend. While you are focusing , and keeping your anger, on this, minuscilar subject, that psychopaths, pedos group, is trying to enslave us all. Dont be controlled by sounds, and snippets, read , research yourself, what is really going on. 🙏
A few blondes watch, or did watch your videos. Good bye...
