Gorge is higher than the forge for me since I never think dont starve as a combat centered game in general and also the gorge is just more interesting than pressing f for half an hour
Forge is a lot more than that, it's like I would say that Gorge is just like cooking in a crockpot
@@minionek247I'd rather speedgather ingredients and "just cook in a crock pot" than hold f for 30 minutes
id like to see u say that fightin a fuelweaver lol. u just need to play the game mote
@@fuki999 this is just a game lol why are you so butthurt by some strangers opinion who hurt you
If you think that the Forge is just holding F, you clearly haven’t played it properly.
(Or if you have, you won’t have gotten very far)
What made Forge 2 special for me was the milestones that the players had to reach, to unlock new stuff. It was satisfying to win a match and seeing the bar go ever so slight further, making it feel like you had a great impact on the game itself.
Year of the catcoon is a clear number 1 for me, those kitties are just too cute :3
Followers who don’t beg for food? Yes please! (Desert is my favorite: gotta love those ears!)
I didn't start playing DST until 2021 so i missed a lot of the events and still need to play them, but i will always rank the catcoon event high because it's just so cute! Just look at the kitcoons - they're adorable and they can follow you everywhere. Also we got the pet you can feed in the menu that I've been doing every day since the event.
I agree with everything but hallowed night’s is lower just because im bitter cuz i feel like it could’ve been as cool or cooler then winter feast if they just tried like can you imagine re skins for of some the bosses but halloween themed!?! It wil literally fit dont starve art style so harmonically are u kidding meeee man
events are klei's demonstration of their infinite power. Most updates follow a laid out path and have to be fair and fit with all this other stuff... events are temporary, easily disabled, loosely useful, so klei has full creative potential to do whatever they want. rat racing, beefalo pageants, kitty hide and seek, bunnyman pillow fights, crow carnivals...
damn seeing the old water texture and the old farm is such a vibe check
How cool is it that we play a game that gets these updates every year? So fun! I've only played a couple of these events so it was informative and entertaining to see all the quirky bits in one video. Thanks Demon!
I like turtles
Good for you.
i like trains
fun vid!
Personally, I like cats even though I have lost the main-menu one everytime. Also, that cat statue is amazing.
Never actually played The Gorge...besides that one time where I wanted to see if you could chop down all the trees with Action Queue. The answer is yes with Woodie* but you get turned into a merm pretty much as soon as you finish.

Hey! Look! I am dead! I think that was the first time I ever played...now I am actually good at the game.
*Never tested with anyone else.
Gosh I wish Forge & Gorge weren't temporary they looked so unbelievably fun 😭 I never got the chance to play them
There are the two mods
Re-forge and re-gorge-itated which bring the event back!
If you are a console player though my condolences
@@graycatsaderow yea console player 😞😞
...Oh my gosh.
Crystal Festive Clops will be amazing.
I’ll never forget the first Hallowed Nights. There’d never been a seasonal event before and I was playing with a friend on a pub and we were puzzled by these new trinkets scattered all over the map. Some guy came on and suggested we give them to the PK. The candy seemed marvelous! It can be a nuisance now, but it still retains some of the magic of that first time for me.
Have to disagree about the Forge though. Very boring, nothing but combat, nothing interesting. I just took a break from the game while that was on. Gorge was more fun, but it was basically the same thing over and over, so after a while it got old. I like DST for its openness and unpredictability, for the exploring and planning and base building, not for robotically repeating the same actions just to get a little faster each time. Still, the design of the Gorge was terrific.
I’m very very sad we never got the forge on consoles, despite klei promising it.
I don't care too much about any of the lunar new year events, so I have no strong opinions about their rankings. I mostly agree with you, just that I think I'd swap Gorge and Winter's Feast. Winter's Feast is great, but for me it just doesn't beat the insane amount of fun I had in the short time that the Gorge was active. Either way the top 3 are/were all phenomenal.
I play dst now for a few months and I revisited some events. The Forge and the Gorge cannot be revisited, so I can't say anything about those events. I didn' revisit Year of the PigKing, the description of this event doesn' sound promising to me. And I didn't revisit Year of the beefalo, since beefalo bell and grooming station are now part oft the main game. I also see the Gobbler an the Bunnyman at the bottom of my list. I would award place 1 to Winters Feast, followed by the Catcoon and then the Carrat and Hallowed Nights. But I am pretty sure, that i will see the Midsummer Carnival, which I didn't play until now, on place 1 or 2. Main criterias for me are decorative stuff for base building and the fun, playing the event.
Combat is my least favorite part of DST so the Forge would be at the bottom of my list.
i'm very very sad that i missed gorge entirely. also kitcoons are the best bc LOOK AT THEM
exactly
Bro just brought me back to 2017
I guess i was lucky the only time i played dst was when forge was out 😅
They need to bring back the gorge !!!
Do the Halloween trinkets get traded for gold too or just candy? Cause it seems like they’re a good way to get money. (Sorry if this is a dumb question it was hard to tell in the video)
Yeah during hallowed nights, pig king will give candy and gold. Outside of hallowed nights you can still get the gold.
@@DemonRebuilt I’ve been trying to decide which events I want to keep on always. I definitely want beefalo, summer fair, and katcoon for the cute factor and bunnyman for the food. Pretty sure the gobbler just makes them a more consistent food source. I’ve been debating about Halloween and carrats.
Winters feast is best. Why? Free bundling wraps in early game.
forge
I still don't understand why they removed those game mode , i think for the forge it was because of those idiot called hacker but i don't really see the point of removing the gorge
sorry, i'm a bit lost.. would you tell me what happened, please? :c
@@rougenoir4287 they removed the gorge and the forge from dst , i think they removed the forge because of some stupid hacker who used cheat to attack as fast as possible which totally ruined the game but i don't know why they removed the gorge
@@gsnakes8990 thanks, ly ❣
@@rougenoir4287 you're welcome
@@gsnakes8990 That's not why they were removed at all. Look up the 2019 roadmap for DST, Klei straight up says exactly why they stopped. The big three reasons are that it took time away from the core game, was too expensive to run the servers for it, and that it "was exceedingly difficult for us to run these events on console and as such underserved our console players." The attacking as fast as possible that you're thinking of is animation cancelling, and it's something anyone could do and required no hacking.
