In a recent news report, the Uttar Pradesh Police conducted a massive-scale challan drive against vehicles bearing caste stickers or defaced number plates. A similar drive was also carried out in Noida and Ghaziabad where thousands of vehicles were issues challan for bearing caste, religion or government post mentions on their car. According to the Police this is a violation of the Motor Vehicles Act 1989, Section 172.

Rules is rules but it should be applied on every one. The most rules breaker of this scenario is the police itself they used to write 'Police' on their vehicles. Judge, Press, Doctor, Army, BSF, Teacher if you see in Prayagraj most of the vehicles have written 'High Court'.
