Please excuse Edward Snowden for not "Falling on his Sword" and consenting to be arrested, tried in secret and send away to life in prison. Snowden fled first to Hong Kong and was painted as a Chinese Spy and then tried to get asylum in Ecuador or Bolivia, but was blocked by the Obama Administration who threatened both countries. Snowden was basically "Trapped" in Moscow and had zero choice but to stay there. The guy has been there for 9 years and has an American Wife and two Children, so if he is going to have to live in Russia for the rest of his life, why not apply and accept citizenship for yourself and your family.
Trump was going to pardon Assange and Snowden on the way out the door, but was threatened by Senate Majority Leader McConnel, Senators Graham and Rubio, that they would vote to Impeach Trump if he pardoned both men.
If Snowden had to give the Russians more secrets to stay in Russia, good on him, as what loyalty does he owe to a criminal and corrupt US government??? I would have done the same. Also the people in government who secretly spied on millions of Americans Illegally, will never be brought to justice. One rule for Thee and One rule for Me. F-them All.
Yeah, former CIA guy saying it's 100% OK to murderer an American Citizen without a trial, conviction or nothing, just because they are on foreign soil, they lose all their rights to due process??? I mean if he was here in the USA, we could just Epstein him, but heck, he's overseas, so let's just car bomb him, his wife and two young kids or drone strike him. Besides women and children are just collateral damage, no big deal. Do you even hear yourself talk??? Do you ever wonder why Americans hate people like you and the security apparatus you work for, which seems more and more like the KGB or the Stasi.

I've listened to this guy talk before, he's very personable and knows exactly how much to drop his guard and be candid enough to get you on his side but make no mistake about it, he is not retired from the CIA at the very least, not retired from serving their interests. As such, presenting the Snowden Russian citizenship as an either or, black or white scenario is a sneaky way of discrediting Snowden. Of course he conveniently ignores the fact that the US had revoked his passport while he was in Russia and he was essentially stranded there. Seeing what had happened to Assange Snowden simply took the only logical option available to him. To present that as a shady alignment with Russia in order to bolster the argument that he himself is and always has been a shady character(essentially what he is alluding to there) is in itself a pretty shady and manipulative thing to do. I do not like this guy one bit, he smacks of deep state psy ops all the way.

Snowden didn’t go to Russia because he loved being an international pariah who loved the never-ending media spotlight. He went to Russia because it was one of the only places that accepted him, and allowed him to move about freely (watched closely) while events unfolded.
Snowden also said he felt that if he returned to America, he’d be killed. (Probably a justified fear, whether it was likely or not…)
But now being granted citizenship, he doesn’t have to worry about being extradited back to the US judicially - which must bring him enormous, and much needed, peace of mind.

This is quite a lot of Bologna. The argument we have all heard thus far is that Snowden endangered national security by blowing that whistle. Since the patriot act has now been ruled as unconstitutional that line cannot be used and so it’s an attempt to make out that “oh no, what he did was fine it’s this other stuff that you didn’t know about that’s not okay”. When he says “it’s classified” he doesn’t mean the documents Snowden took were classified, he means which documents Snowden did or didn’t take is itself classified. I.e. Snowden could have literally just taken a rubber ducky with him and so long as the CIA decides that “Snowden taking a rubber ducky” is classified then it makes one beleiev he stole documents he shouldn’t have taken

Also another thing he chose to ignore while defending the CIA/USA whatever, is that Snowden NEEDED some sort of protection, Hence why he stole all of this irrelevant information and documents, which is to put pressure on the CIA and USA. This is pretty much needed. As you can probably imagine, as the states has done this in the past and continues to do it to the current day, but it would not be difficult for them to make someone disappear. Let's not act the fool.
    Edit:
I almost missed talking about this clearly audacious claim when the "Former" CIA Agent mentions the citizenship. Andrew learly responds in a biased way initially, and then afterwards he tries to explain his reasoning, half of which I explained my displeasure above, but I forgot to mention that he also says CONCRETELY that the ONLY way Snowden becomes a citizen(Or anyone for that matter) is if you betray your country or serve the countries interest. Like what? Talk about jumping to conclusions. The only other country Snowden can go to is China, any other country would immediately send him to the states.

Yes, now a PR pawn of the Russians, but the more I learned about Snowden and how he went about his process the more I think he's the good guy in the story here. He's a patriot first, and self preservation second. At first, I thought he was just someone looking for attention and fame, who put people and the US a risk, but the more I learned the more clear it was that's not the case. I'd have to disagree. After Snowden's flight to Hong-Kong, the USA did the wrong thing. His own country betrayed its own citizens, and betrayed him. Instead of making amends towards Snowden, instead of doing the right thing, the USA did the wrong thing. And the moves made by the USA against Assange, preparing a Grand Jury, certainly did not help making them look like a "fair" actor (I wouldn't expect them to be a "Good" actor). When a man is unfairly targeted, and hunted by the most powerful country in the world, you cannot fault the man for keeping a stash of bargaining chips while the USA keeps threatening him.
