I have been watching the box openings this year and decided that I like the boxes that are actual projects and that include almost everything you need for the project. I've been getting Sewers Club Project box and Open Gate Subscription Box for 3 months now. I've been loving them. I'm not getting the add-ons notions from Sewer's club because I have most notions already. Not getting the fat quarter add ons either because I have lots of fabric already. I've been learning some new skills and techniques by getting these subscription boxes. Both boxes have written directions and video tutorials that have been very helpful in doing the projects. I'll continue getting these boxes this year and then look at my finances and see if I can still afford them next year. I LOVE getting FUN mail and this is really the only way I get fun mail. It's like getting a surprise gift every month.

When ever I start learning a new craft or hobbyi usually find a subscription box for it. I will subscribe for a while so that I can stock up on some essentials until I have enough. I think they are a great way to get started. I've done yarn, gel polish, and now fabric. I love subscription boxes and they usually are a great buy. Thanks for this video! ❤

I treated myself to a subscription box a few years ago but I only liked one of three boxes. I decided that I'm better off buying what I like when I see it.
This video came at a good time as I'm spending today making a quilt for a nephew with only stash fabric. I had planned on a day trip to a quilt store but I scanned my fabric and decided that I have to make at least two quilt tops before I bring in anymore fabric. Or notions. Or patterns 😂😂😂

Good Information on subscriptions and other advice about buying fabric. I realized when I moved that I had way too much fabric and am looking to thin out my fabric. I find if I have too much I will never get to the project and my tastes change. I belonged to a fabric club and while the value was there, I was soon overwhelmed. Love your videos 😆

You mentioned Keepsake Quilting in NH. My friends and I always went to their clearance tent sale in June every year and got great deals. However, they were sold to Pineapple Fabrics and are now located with them down south. They closed the NH store and we went into mourning. Miss having that that brick and mortar store in our area.

Love the idea of getting a pack of batiks every month - I might have to try a box. That is my all-time favorite fabric choice. However, I am VERY picky about colors and designs, so most fabric subscription boxes are (unless it's batik- perhaps) not for me.
Sometimes I see a fabric and build a quilt around that. Or I get told what colors to use and find fabric I think the person will like in those colors. Some are just impulse buys; I have no idea what I'm going to do but I like the fabrics. I like charm squares/5x5 and Jelly rolls/2.5xWoF. They are so versatile and a decent price. And you get a nice little selection of some great fabrics without breaking the bank. I love to visit my local quilt store; I can usually find something I like. Any quilt store, really😆.
I feel fat quarter bundles are a bit of a hit and miss. I generally, don't want to make a quilt with fabrics that are "curated" by someone else. While they all go together it's just not for me. I think picking the fabrics and making them work, is the most fun in quilting for me. Finding the right pattern is the hardest, cutting and piecing is also very enjoyable, and the actual quilting my least favorite, if I could afford it, I would have a long-armer do all my finished quilt tops 🤣

😊Good Mornin Leah Louise.. I have friends that do the sub boxes just for the subscribers etc is a while genre for there channels so many have stopped. The repeat notions and lack of actual things to do and our complete a project for the price.. not been a good deal.
The Fat Quarter Shop has a box that was getting worse. They have revamped it. It seams loads of folks like it much much more then before. I see it comes down to affordability for lots. If they can toss the money at it and do an opening on their channels they usually do. Effects Those "👍 " for sure. People can see without purchasing.
If I could spare the funds I think that's the one I'd do..FQS they have a quarterly fq fabric club I'd like to do too. No lol I'm not a paid spokesperson, I've just been watching and paying attention for a few years 😅.
OHH GZZ SEE ! that's one I want to do batiks fq's and there's a color fq monthly to.. be great for building a ready to sew stash. 😂😂I'm cracking up your sharing what I was texting about. I totally spaced you have shared this fq bundle in the past. I'm pretty sure your have anyway. Anyway...😂😂HAVE A FABULOUS WEEKEND 💞
