  • In this video, I disassemble, clean, rebuild, and test pop-off for my 2001 Yamaha GP800R WaveRunner carburetors. The rebuild process wasn't too bad really but be sure to use factory Mikuni carb kits. I did not know the condition of these carburetors so I figured I better be safe than sorry.

    @605BOLT thanks for this video! you explained things so clearly and great close ups/camera angles and everything, easily the best rebuild/pop off video i’ve come across and i’ve been using it as a guide to rebuild my dual carbs on an xlt 800 basically identical setup to yours
    i’ve got this baffling issue where i can’t build pressure above 40psi during the pop off test, i have the same tester and it goes past 100psi with just the hoses blocked off up to the carb inlet, don’t see any signs of a leak in the needle/seat, no bubbling, really at a loss as to why it won’t build up higher pressure

      @605BOLT  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I have another video coming out later where I needed to adjust these settings. It had a bog off idle that I couldn't fix. I got a bigger needle and seat and pulled pop off back to 45 and it cleared right up. Assuming it will help you too. Thanks for the kind words. Could be not building pop off because the needle and seat are wore out.

      @@605BOLT thanks! i’m subscribed and looking forward to that video. My needle and seat is actually brand new oem mikuni, and i used the oem rebuild kit as well. Decided to think out of the box a bit and found that air is actually leaking from the other side!! (pump side?), so weird, i tightened up the screws but it’s still leaking, made a short video of it

    Great video bud/ Your hose to the Accelerator pump has a check valve inside it. Do not throw away the hose. look inside for jet style check valve. Reinstall it! I set my Pop off at 35 psi
