- In this lure making video I run through my general process of how to make a custom crankbait fishing lure. It's a pretty simple build so if your following along just take your time and make sure to test multiple things like weight, line tie positive, lip size and shape. Eventually you'll learn what makes your lure run good. Hope you enjoy the video and I can earn your subscription and a like 😉

Just found your channel after looking into how to make wooden cranks. I have to say I really dig your content brother! I appreciate not just your attention to detail but also your personal style. You deserve more views. I like how your content is straightforward without all the "fluff" and click bait BS of other channels. I don't need a celebrity content creator or online influencer ,narcissist to enjoy videos on CZcams. Its actually refreshing in this day and age when everybody wants to be online star and you keep it simple and just allow your work to speak for you. Keep grinding and you'll do big things....
Thanks man I appreciate it.
18:08 You should have yelled “Big One!” Like all the Pros fishing tournaments. Great Bait. You should sell some. I would buy one. Excellent video. Thanks.
I’m working on a new lure design that I’m going to sell. Still got a little work to do before they are available though
@@TreysArt i will keep my eyes out on your channel
A tip for future on the bandsaw from a carpenter, when you cut the bottom off the price, keep the offcut to set the piece back in, that gives you something square to hold it in and stops the saw pulling it out of your hands if it snags
I just recently started doing this. Great advice!
I've only just found your videos so haven't watched through them all yet, all great so far! I've been operating shop machines for 9 years now and I've seen too many accidents to not offer advice where I can. Keep up the good work
You will probably cringe at my use of power tools then lol. I do try to be careful though.
Nice touch with the hand painted dots🙂. The bass throwing the lure in slow motion was awesome too!
I thought it was pretty cool. Glad I caught it on camera.
Awesome video
Thank you
So cool, man! You’ve definitely inspired me to try my hand at making my own lure. Well done!
I'm sitting here binge watching your videos. Awsome
No love lol
I appreciate the support bro. Haven’t uploaded lately but hopefully I’ll get around to posting some new content soon.
Holy dam!!! This came out hot!!!
Thank you
You have a real talent I’m getting read to try my hand at lure making Can’t think of a thing that would be more rewarding .!!!!
Thank you. I absolutely love lure making. I hardly ever even use store bought lures anymore. It’s just so gratifying to catch them on your own lures.
Приятно наблюдать за вашей работой!
That’s one of my favorites! Amazing
Bom dia meu amigo péscador, ótima idéia, parabéns pelo seu trabalho.

Such a nice lure! 👊
Very nice montage of the video :) and the lure also came out looking good - I especially liked the highlight donts on the back ;) keep up the good work
This and the one where you show how to make those eyes are two of my favourites, I think it must be something to do with the eyes, I don't think I've ever seen those on a lure before.
That's me caught up now on your lure videos plus one aquarium video and all I can say is thank you so much for creating these videos for us to watch/learn, it's appreciated very much. So glad I found your channel and looking forward to more of course: keep it up 👍 Oh' nice bandsaw, bet it's even nicer with a new blade : )
Absolutely man and yeah I’m about to start trying to get videos out more often. Just been hard with work here lately. And I really appreciate you taking the time to watch. Seriously means a lot brother 👍🏼

I was thinking of your comment when editing so I gave the background noise a shot.
@@TreysArt video is more atractive when shop sounds are there.. but hey, you are director, you can do what ever you think you should.. anyway is nice video.. thank you for sharing.
Esta isca artificial artesanal ficou muito bem feita meus parabéns.
obrigada 👍🏼
Man you have some skills, love ur work. Just wondering if you have tried flame polishing the edges of your bibs, might save u some sanding. Tho I do like the 10, 000 grit lol. Don't know if it would work but I know they do it for other stuff, might be worth a try.
🤔 not a bad idea. I’ll had to give that a shot.
czcams.com/video/Vx7MHdWXQvc/video.html this is a bit old but gives the idea
Not to discredit your technique but it would be easier trim the sides with a craving knife. Just an idea. Keep it up great job
Hi.
How do you know where to place the leads so that it is balanced and what weight to put on it?
Thanks
The easiest way I can explain it in a comment is trial and error. There are methods you can use to find the center of gravity but weight size and placement is definitely something that takes some experimenting in order to figure what works best
Why not use sawdust instead of baking soda when filling in the holes used for the weights
I do sometime. Usually only when I leave the lure bare wood. But I find the baking soda to be easier to work with and it’s really tough.
Where do you get those lead pellets from? I’ve been trying to find some but I don’t know where to look
I can’t remember where I ordered them because it’s been so long. Look up birdshot lead on google and you should be able to find some. I bought I think 25 lbs from somewhere.
If nothing else crack open a few shotgun shells.
How do make a bait rattle?
There’s various different ways to do it. The easiest would be to buy some pre-made rattles to insert, like worm rattles.
Where do you find the clear glass eyes??
I make them from resin. I have a video showing how
I got some from Amazon. They are called cabochons on there. They are meant for jewelry but they work great for lure eyes. I got a 100 pack for about $10-20 cad
Yeah I’ve actually got some 1/4” glass cabs I use sometimes but I need to order some bigger ones.
What kind of pen did you use to sign?
Most of the time I use a “pigma micron”. Or if I want a white pen for dark lures I use a “gelly roll” gel pen.
Where do you get the poplar?
I get mine from either Home Depot or Lowe’s
