- Chotchy watnted to get in the pool which was not full of water yet like Choko. Choko had already jumped to the pool. Chotchy was going down the stairs of the pool carefully. But he rolled over and flipped over on his back. His legs are shorter than other ducks of ours. I think that often causes his rolling over.

The Call Duck is a bantam bread of domesticated duck. Call ducks are smaller in size than other ducks.
Butchy is a pied color Call Duck, a boy and 6 years old. He has an unique color on the left side of his face, which looks like an eyebrow. (Butchy died a peaceful death in February, 2021. He was almost 7 years old.) Moko is a white one, a girl, 4 years old. Piko is a white one, a girl, one year old. Choko was born in April, 2021 and she is a girl.Chotchy started to live with us in September, 2021 when he was 2 or 3 months old(estimated age).

@@jenniferdonlin6627 ducks float so if the water was taller the duck wouldn't drown anyway and it would just help instead. Before you make snarky remarks about being flipped in pool, I swim incredibly well and am able to float in pools 😎
I don't find it cute nor funny.
I honestly didn't know that flipping over can be a problem for ducks. I've seen turtles on their backs being able to right themselves up. This was interesting
I think the duck would've been able to if the water was deeper so it doesn't get obstructed by the surface when trying to rotate

Same goes here. Ducks have a natural instinct to hold their head on their belly when they are flipped over. Even if she didn’t help the duck it would have flipped itself over using its wings or waited for the water to get higher so it started floating

I wonder if he was too heavy to be able to open up his wings to do so? You know how your arm or leg can get locked in a way that it loses all power and you can't use it? Something like that.
@@Lufia4 I think yes, if you hold a bird with its wings pinned it can’t open them, the ground was strong enough to pin the wings down
@@Lufia4 it's possible but I think it's more like with most birds if they're on their backs and their wings aren't out already, a lot of them seem to freeze up, possibly because they're afraid to damage their wings...

We have a Muscovy duck that has balance issues. I think it was either because she hatched later or too early. She was hatched in an incubator and had pipped, but after 24 hours I helped her out because she was still alive, but stuck. I've read that ducklings that stay too long in the shell can have issues. I started feeding her comfrey leaves, which is rich in minerals and she is much improved but will still stumble and roll onto her back. We named her Turtle.
you should check out the channel A chick called Albert, the guy once fixed a duckling that had balance issues after hatching, with a sock around its body (no joke).
