As you have observed, the color saturation between the rich green and the oxide brown is very close. The traditional art technique is to pick out the two colors with a very thin contrasting color so that the contrast is more visually obvious. I would suggest a very fine pinstripe of the pale green in between or along the edge of the rich oxide brown and the darker green. The contrast will be much more visually appealing. Right now, as beautiful and historic as the colors are, they are lost in the shadows, which is such a waste. I assure you, it was a very Victorian technique and will suit your lovely lady quite well.
I was going to say some gold pinstripe on the pale green would add some contrast, and I have seen this done in dinning rooms with similar color scheme
@@dgsurfer That would be lovely.
This is absolutely correct both historically and truth wise
@@chris-q7c4x Thanks. The result of being the daughter of an architect obsessed with historical buildings!
I endorse this 100%! Light green or gold, both good ideas. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but this is what would really make it crisp.
For a person who’s color blind the color you picked was perfect. I do love the 3 color contrast. That brown with reddish tone is also perfect to go with the red brick.
I think the design for the corbels are so different n has its own beauty. When it’s all done it’s gonna be a show stopper. You doing an amazing job at restoring your mansion.
It was nice to get a glimpse of Kim. Haven’t seen her in a long long time. She is missed.
♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟🌟🌟
I admire how you say so calmly that the slate roof and other tasks are a new skill you will have to learn. You don't seem to view as a chore, but rather an interesting challenge. A challenge you will master easily I'm sure. I think the colors are just beautiful!
Nature, time and patience are the three great physicians. I've been viewing you from the start, I'll ride till the end. The finish is worth it.
I am so impressed with the original craftsmen who thought to put that detail in a place few would notice. You are doing a fantastic job restoring your house. The skill and care you take and the colors are beautiful!
It is so fun watching you restore this beauty. I am so excited to see what you accomplish in the future, but I understand that all those details take time. Don't worry about your viewers being impatient with you. I think I speak for all of us that you just relax, take your time, and just enjoy the journey.
Caleb we understand your restoration will take a life time enjoy the ride
Caleb, I love the colors. It fits perfect for that time era. I love seeing your expressions on your face when you have completed or accomplished something on the house. Fantastic that you have accumulated all the machinery that you have collected. Thank you for sharing your renovations and repairs on your home and bringing the house back to its original glory. Thank you and God Bless you and your family. 🥰💯💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍👍(🌹🐞🦂🌵)
The Colors are INCREDIBLE TOGETHER!!!! I grew up in a 200 year old home, and my father would put two shades of grey together. It looked GORGEOUS too!!!!
My husband and I have spent months catching up on your videos. I made a playlist, from oldest to newest, and we'd find time to watch a few episodes each week. This house is absolutely beautiful. And the time you put into it shows.
I think it would be awesome to see a time lapse in pictures, as the face of your Grand Lady changes.... she's going to be STUNNING!!!
I'm glad we're getting closer to seeing some inside work again! The paint this week looks great, the contrast between the green and brown is visible even in the shadows.
I love the color scheme. Can’t thank you enough for taking us along on your restoration journey. 🎨🧡
Love the music!
One of the things I appreciate most about you and this channel is your attitude towards putting in the time necessary to do things the right way and your perseverance. I’m guilty of being spoiled in this world of oftentimes instant gratification, and you demonstrate week after week the benefits of doing things the longer but better way. It’s inspired me in my personal sewing projects as I hand sew a late Victorian outfit from underclothes or outer wear. Thanks for sharing this journey with us ❤
Your two greens are pretty darn close to what I chose for my house, so obviously I give that two thumbs up!!
I found this page around the time my son passed away. You remind me so much of him so it makes my heart happy to watch this journey. I hope some day to come to st louis and see the house. ❤
Keep adding more mad skills to your resume, Kaleb. Sounds like we're getting really close on getting the last puzzle pieces in place on the mansard. We got the big chill here in Indy too, only 34 degrees outside right now. And I have to take my cat to the vet!
Hope all is well with your cat!
That reminds me of our winter of 2022 - we had to take our diabetic puppy (who is in remission now 🙏) to the vet many, many times and the roads were always icy and snowy. Scary.
I hope your cat is doing well and your weather isn't too bad.
I can’t wait to see the front door done 😊
I'm in LOVE with this color scheme!!
Sooo Welcoming 👍❤️
Mr. Caleb, your dedication and artistic talent for detail, patience, passion and work ethic is Phenomenal! It will all come together step by step as you do; the colors and workmanship is stunning! 👏Bless you 🙏🏻🌹
I think part of the issue is the brown is close to the color of the brick at this point, once you put all the final coats on and the soffits are done, it’ll look amazing I’m sure. I can’t wait! It’s really going to be gorgeous with all the contrasting colors.
Contrast is perfect. No need to overemphasize it. Subtlety is beautiful
I really like the brown... In the original shot, it looked like a warm dark walnut stain rather than just a brown paint.
Absolutely beautiful!
Things are coming along nicely & looking great, Caleb! Slow, but sure & sweet! Hello to Kim!
Oh my gosh, your paint that you chose is so beautiful!!
Looking forward to the video.👍🏼
The colors compliment each other. I like it.
I think it’s looking beautiful.
Thank you for doing your part to bring that area back to greatness
I drive by often and you are making a difference.
Thanks! Fingers crossed this isnt the only one i get to do around here. With a little bit of love this area could really shine.
24,253 Thank you Kaleb. The work looks great. Amazing talents you are developing and so willing to share those skills with others.
Every week I get excited to see another video with such incredible attention to detail and restoration. It looks amazing!!
Hi Caleb, I feel your pain, as I am also colour blind (red/green) although I graduated at the top of my class at art school! I think you need more contrast between the green and the brown.
It is vibrant caleb 😅,the green is puping up, and the brown is redish in contrast. It is looking pretty 😍 👌
Yay insulation and paint! Every step matters!
Those Colors really contrast nicely, I Love it. It really has been Fun following along and watching this house restoration. So much work, but Worth it for such a nice home.
The amount of work you have put into your home is amazing. Thank you for sharing your videos.
I love the color combination you are using for the trim. Your home little-by-little is turning into the showpiece it once was. Looking forward to the roof being done so the house is weather tight and you can rest easier. Greetings being sent from Albuquerque!
I think the contrast looks great.
Gosh the colors are bringing the house back to life. It is going to look so good when it's all finished.
Beautiful Kaleb! Looks awesome already 🤗👍❤️yes , stay warm , good job with the insolation to!👏🍀😁👍
As a banjo player, I'm enjoying the music 😊. Not a huge fan of the brown paint. I'd like to see a dark mustard color, yellow with brown in it. Keep up the great work!
Every time you do another part, it pulls the house together a little bit more. Such a beautiful house and beautiful work. You two have worked so hard, it's obviously a real labour of love. ❤
🎉 Looking good. Can't wait to see the full strength colours. They are going to look fantastic!
So excited for you that the roof is finally this close! Looking fantastic!!
I think it is wonderful all you are doing to bring out that splendid beauty this house holds. Your craftsmanship is incredible. I enjoy watching your journey
Wow those colors together are so awesome!

Kaleb, I love the colours! I can't wait to see the roof.
Looking good! We need more Kim next week!
Finally, good the carpenters have started!
Starting to look beautiful ❤😊
Kaleb I LOVE those colors! That Oxide brown is a fantastic contrast color and I love how it looks with the bricks, but also the tiles on the roof! Tell Kim I miss her sweet face and enjoyed her cameo during the insulation install. I got cold here too, brother! Down to 37 today and windy as all get out! Bundle up!
I love those colors together - the green compliments the red brick so well. I also love the footage of clouds cruising by as you paint. And it's great to see your nice, bright lighting on the inside footage. My old, tired eyes appreciate it. ☺️
Kaleb, I love the colors you chose. It looks so crisp and clean now 😊 Of course you need to finish the roof first!! How can you proceed with all the weather and critters getting in and making a mess. Just keep doing what you're doing. I don't comment much but I am a loyal fan of this project. I haven't missed an episode in over 3 years!
I think it really looks so great!
The colours look good in both places. The corbel in the basement looks terrific!
Love the color choices! Hi, from Ontario, Canada.
The outside is looking great. Loving the design you found underneath the paint. It looks fabulous. Can't wait to see the roof finished.

The roof looks AMAZING! Great job so far can't wait to see it complete
Great Work Kaleb and Hi Kim!
Hey, thanks!
The colors look awesome! The house will look great when you finally get done. The work you put into all of the refurbishing you're doing is worth every single minute you put into your house! Beautiful!
I love the colors and can't wait for the finished product. It is so interesting to see how all of this is done. Thank you, as always, for sharing your journey with us.
I’m going to have to drive past one day soon. I live just across the river in Waterloo. You’re doing such a great job!!!
Please do!
I like the colors. I think it will help appreciate the look when you get the next
couple coats of paint on. I get the getting cold thing here we dropped from the 70°'s
at night to down into mid 50°'s. And from the lower 100°'s a couple weeks ago to down to 80°'s during daytime. We will do the same temp wise. But it is heading into
Winter. But for now still fall.🍁🍂🦃🍂🍁
It’s soooo beautiful …….that dark green ❤❤❤❤
Great work, it looks great..if anything on the color, I would say maybe paint the square blocks pushing out on the top trim the light green color to bring that detail out ..great progress!
The colors are really beautiful and contrast is great. So much better than it was - just simple white.
Great job as always, your care and attention to you lovely home really shows, keep up the good work both of you. Regards to the colour combinations up on the roof, i think they compliment eachother very well and look absolutely fine to me. Really looking forward to seeing the roof finally finished as i sure you both are 😊 hope Kim is well
Love your color combination! Looks great with the brick! I am envisioning a red accent somewhere, but you got lots of other important things to do, like the roof! Love watching the improvements little by beautiful little!
It’s so exciting to see it come together!!!!!!
Here in The Great Industrial Northeast, if you don't like the weather, then wait fifteen minutes and it will change!
😂☀⛅☁🌧🌪🌬⚡❄
