@@2021WSchampKJ franchise mode is getting some improvements, like trade deadline being much more realistic and deadline day having a real-time mini game dont expect kraken as they won't start playing until the 21-22 season. Roster sharing and jersey codes also unlikely but I expect within the next few years they might be introduced especially seeing that they're jumping to next gen consoles next year

Definitely. This looks genuinely amazing. Even if it's still broken and everything, just the small things like convos in the locker room and at the bench will add to the immersion and not make it just feel like game after game after game. Plus, you can start in Europe now!

Remember, it is well crafted teaser. Usually ea disappoints. They always seem like to have cool features and seem to understand what players want, but then it is executed poorly. But I really really hope they pull this off this year. Been playing Be a pro since it became a mode in the game, so if this works as promised and is fun, I will be forever grateful for Ea's NHL team.

It would also be nice to get more than 2 FA offers, and not always a 2-year deal from the same teams each time, especially when you're the best player in the league. Also, the fact that other superstars (McDavid, Mackinnon, Matthews) are playing with other teams when they should be on long contracts with their current teams.

@@sether6411 I played the pre-release with EA play and it's mint. Menus are so much faster and the game just feels like it processes so much quicker, flipping through menus is a breeze now

A couple of things I noticed:
At 1:32, freeze it, and look at the categories up top. At the right, you'll see what looks like "Donations," and if that's what it is, then huge props to EA for including that. Hockey people, from fans, to players, to owners, tend to be very generous, so putting a bit of virtual philanthropy in the NHL series is definitely in keeping with the spirit of the game.
Also noticed one of the conversations where a player on ZSC, in the Swiss league, was discussing a cereal box endorsement. That's not insignificant; back in 13/14, endorsements and such had to wait until you hit the bigs, so if you were crazy enough to grind out three years in the OHL, you didn't get to see much of the fun stuff. That some of this seems to be available in the European leagues, at least, is promising.
Also promising: the way the mode appears to be structured around individual vignettes, rather than high-production set piecces. That's good, if it holds. Too much production can reduce user agency, and ultimately hurt replayability. Perhaps here, after playing as, I don't know, a team-first defenseman with an eye on investments and charity, you could play another character as a brash centerman who enjoys the finer things in life. Making a mode like this vignette driven, rather than set piece driven, seems to be the best balance the industry's been able to strike, between high production, and high user agency. If that's ultimately how this turns out, it could be a hit.
That said, I need to see this in execution, on release, before I plunk down my money. Anything can look good on a sizzle reel; proof of the pudding, and whatnot. And if the play on the ice is as janky as it's been in years past--e.g., inadvertently icing the puck because my toon apparently didn't notice the wide-open teammate who was calling for the breakout pass--then no sale.
I'm cautiously optimistic, for a change; but the emphasis right now is heavily on "cautiously."
Be A Pro this year sounds like GTA.

Alright alright give it a chance, it definitely won't have all of those things but it might have a few. You cant expect it to go from terrible to having everything we want in one year, as long as they continue to improve it year after year it should be good

@@sandymigs1158 Who doesn't, it's a story mode. Online play is okay, but the people on there are often toxic and cheese the game. CHEL's fine, but HUT sucks for online play. Shootouts is fine as well, although everyone does the underarm deke thing.

FINALLY there's a point to playing BAP mode. I hope we get to see All-Star invites and even Skills Competition fun in this game or the future. Seeing your pro chilling on the sidelines with other league stars, having fun, testing your skills.

I'd really like to be able to have a bit more of a choice to which team gets you drafted if you decide to start in the memorial cup or europe to build you up especially with a narrative involved
