    Hey, I think the Lithium Ion numbers are wrong. The max voltage is the same as lipo at 4.2v and the lowest they go safely is 2.5v, not 3/3.4v. Also Life batteries have the longest lifespan, usually in the thousands. Li-ions are usually 300-500.

      I think older liions were 4.1v but at some point they managed to bump them up to 4.2v more recently. I've seen and had both...

    If a speedlite uses 6AA batteries. Which is best (li-ion or li-po) to use to connect in 3 series?
    3.6v X 3 = 10.8v or 3.7v X 3 = 11.1v, again which best & does speedlite has voltage tolerances to accept higher than 9v?

    I see a bit of crossover in RC and Airsoft. I build high end Airsoft AEGs. I also try and guide people doing their own tech work. The biggest misunderstood aspect of building AEGs is batteries. There is a company that has conned people into buying their batteries. Titan Power L-Ion batteries. They just series some Sony 18650s to 11.1v and 7.4v configurations. They claim that they are 15C..... Airsoft uses mostly brushed DC motors to turn a set of gears that pull a spring back. The problem comes in when using semi fire, which is 90% of what is allowed. Motors pull more current on start up, and rapid semi fire is a huge strain. Some motors require 35-60 amps on startup, depending on load and TPA of the motor. I try and tell people not to use ion batteries for airsoft and they call me crazy. It is much easier to fool people than it is to convince them that they have been fooled.

    Hi, I have a question (maybe a little bit out of the topic), is that can we charge a Lipo battery at the higher Amp let say a 5200mah 2s lipo charge by 10a charger (set at 10a)
 and any consequence
.tq

    • @ubreakitirepairit3569
      @ubreakitirepairit3569 Pƙed 2 lety

      I’m still confused about the whole charging a lipo based on the c rating. From what I understand, if the c rating is higher, then yes you can charge at a higher amperage.
      If you don’t understand the whole c rating thing (which I still don’t) then it’s best to just play it safe, and simply charge no higher than the amp rating on the battery itself. 5200 mah - charge at 5a. 3400 mah - charge at 3a. 1800 mah - charge at 1a and so on.

      @@ubreakitirepairit3569 Yeah...the rule of thumb commonly pushed as the safe charging amperage for LiPo is just match the MAH rating of the battery, however, what I've been unable to find is a similar "safe" rule of thumb for the Li-Ion batteries. A 5000 MAH 7.4v Li-Ion battery I have states right on the battery not to exceed 2 amps for charging. So...is 40% of a Li-Ion battery MAH a safe rule of thumb for charging Li-Ion batteries?

    Lead Acid batteries PbO2 SO4, like LiFe, do not indicate their state of charge by direct observation of the voltage.

    Liion is 4.2v max. And Samsung 21700 30t have higher C ratings now. I race 1/8 truggy with liion 4s and it works as good as lipo 4s

  • @MegaCyrik

    I found the lifespan explanation a bit lacking. And looking at like an Eve 1kilowatt 320ah cell, it have a rating of 6000 cycles minium, so close to 20years to drop to 80% capacity..minium. so what is li-ion since its above that on your table? 30years? You should talk about it more not just some arbitrary examples of random lifespan. Some data sheet examples would have been nice. But.. overall good effort on video, thank you.

    maybe do some better research before you post a video about batteries. your li-ion stats are way off. and curious what you think a "traditional" li-ion battery is from a previous comment.
